  • During the video I promised an update on the pricing. As of the upload date the price is $300.29 USD as built.
I encourage you to get the premium leather option that wasn’t available when I ordered these.

Great review again! It'd be great to see you walk with them just to get a feel for how they look with an outfit.

Preadeep and Sandeep are lovely people and very open to feedback in my experience with them and their brand BLKBRD. They offer a wide variety of shoes and boots all at incredible value. I also do not like the cushy insole. I dont mind makers who include it as an option (Blazing Wonders and Cru do this) as a way to help refine the fit. Blkbrd makes it standard. You get what you pay for. So you can't expect ACME finish at a $300 price point. What you get is a really nice pair of shoes. I presonally had fit issues across the 2 pair of oxfords I've ordered. Too tight with the insole and too big without. And even if they fit w/o the insole, the footbed would be without any think leather and just be rough. I did have better luck with a chukka boot I have from them. I think BLKBRD is a much better choice than other brands in this price range ( AE and Meemin) and most of their shoes are hand welted. If I was to give advice to BLKBRD I would say to dratically reduce the number of models and up the attention to detail on what they deliver. The owners are great people and I look forward to seeing the brand evlve and grow.

I got a pair of Seamless Wholecut in Black Zonta Aniline. It was a very good pair. The leather is really good. Worth every penny

Have been eyeing Blkbrd shoes for a while. In my opinion, these are quite nice for the price point! Maybe I will order the adelaides I've really been looking at.

Great video! When you say they've upgraded their leather, are you referring to their standard entry level leather or the optional premium leathers (zonta, etc.).
It it a safe bet to get a pair of blkbrds with standard leather as oppsed to a pair of meermins? (Cap toes)

Meermin usually used French German or Italian leathers. Usually quite thin pieces but nice nonetheless. Blackbrd uses Ukrainian and other Eastern European leathers while not up to the same standards are quite durable and generally look nice. But you can tell. The premium leathers they’re using in the optional program are thicker versions of the same that Meermin uses but the shoes are handwelted and hand stitched (soles). It’s a higher quality product than even the Meermin LM (though much closer than Meermin standard). The tricky part is the components. The linings and footbeds, etc. I find the footbeds in Meermin to be slightly better when in the LM line and the linings are Du Puy in that line as well which makes a big difference. Blkbrd linings are ok but not quite as good.
So I’d buy Blkbrd over Meermin standard because it’s handwelted and the leather is almost as good, but I’d upgrade the leather for cap toes or anything I was pairing with suiting as I feel the quality will show better and certainly last longer.

Saw a video on another channel and was considering a pair in black to follow your previous advice. $350 is a doable splurge for me but also could be used for many other pairs if I spend right.
Would love to see what you do to cover those creases. I collect pre worn both for budget and not wasting things reasons so I enjoy creasing as part of the character of leather but that seems way too much so so little wear.

Hey John, I raised the insole issue to Blk Brd for my pair, and they said that they do this because its what's their customers in India prefer.

I know they told me the same but they no longer fit. They’re too big.

@@wishoeguy That sucks... But at least you've pointed it out, and hopefully there's an option of removable insole and leather insole in the future.
However, removable insoles could also be a way to reduce costs

I also have a pair from them. The leather insoles they use are low quality. Very stiff and non yielding. Thats why I think they use the foam insole
