Dave, I'm going to save the folks watching this video hours of frustration and headache. When taking the gun apart, don't just "pop" out the hammer strut and spring, if you do, you will have an extremely difficult time re-assembling the pistol (I'm willing to bet that's why you don't show an re-assembly video). The key is to push the hammer strut plate up a little, slide a small punch into the hole at the bottom of the hammer strut compressing the spring a little more, this will allow you to remove the hammer strut, hammer strut washer, spring and plate as one whole piece. It won't take more than 10 minutes to re-assemble the entire gun, (upper and lower). Trust me, the gun will not go back together unless the strut, spring, plate and washer go back in as one single assembled unit.
Jay Cee to be honest, I filmed the entire reassembly. I haven’t posted due to the fact that my business isn’t making RUclips videos. I’ve just been too busy to edit the video and post it. As far as the hammer spring and plate, it’s really not that difficult to compress them together and place a punch into it prior to reassembly. I’m just putting the finishing touches on building my new shop, once I have some time, I do plan on continuing to make videos on a number of different firearms.
dude, thank you for posting this. i was wondering why in the hell he launches the hammer strut plate at like 1:48 mark. makes sense there is a pin punch you can barely see in the video
For anyone taking theirs apart! Make sure the firearm is clear first, then press the trigger to allow the hammer strut and spring to depress, this will allow you to insert a pin/punch into the newly cleared hammer strut hole, this will hold the entire strut assembly together and make reassembly 10x easier.
@@NickAlati definitely was a pain in the ass and took me a few days. I’ll report back if I remember how I managed to do it. Definitely took multiple pin punches though.
@@NickAlatiThis one’s gonna be a doozy. To the best of my memory of course, I was able to use very small zip ties and position them as equally apart on each side of the spring that I could. Using Vice Grips or some type of clamp or just leverage and muscle to force the hammer strut plate down over the strut itself, compressing the spring. After compressing the strut spring enough in this configuration outside of the firearm’s housing, with the punch facing the correct direction (Hammer strut base plate is trapezoidal and only fits one direction) you can slip the assembly strut into the housing and slowly release the punch holding the strut plate on the bottom from it’s tension and hopefully the strut itself seats into place. Hope this helps and if there is anything I can do to clarify or assist further please let me know!
Reassemble video! Lol I’ve been restoring my Dads and having trouble with the hammer spring. Any tips would be very appreciated! I even tried to find a hammer spring compressor tool but didn’t find one for this gun.
That part is THE part that is the firearm (the serialized part). You can't buy it without going through an FFL. It's a simple part if you want to make your own, but it would require a milling machine to make (can't mill it on a drill press with a XY vise like an AR lower, because it's milled from solid steel). Fairly certain it can't be made of aluminum.
There is a washer under the bottom of the actuator. It is visible in place from 1:43-2:05. When he flips it over at 2:10 it falls onto the mat & remains there through 8:05 & then disappears.
Anyone ever get a chance to compare these to the Sundance "Point Blank"? I can't say for certain, but these look like much higher quality, even though they almost look like identical guns.
I built a homemade jig to reassemble this gun, it worked !!!
Where do I find the Video to assemble it back together

Yep - I learned this one the hard way! How the heck do you get it back into place is the Question

Ya what most of them ⬆️⬆️ said. Why didn't you make the reassemble video before you quit??
Having a problem replacing the actuator and spring on the High Standard Derringer. Does not want to stay in place.

Do You Have A Re-Assembly Video On The Hi Standard 22 Derringer ?
