    Yes HSLDA is such a must!!! I always tell people you wouldn’t drive without insurance so don’t homeschool without HSLDA (homeschool insurance). Thanks for doing this video I have always been curious about how New York works with all of this. This resource will be amazing for those in New York.

    Thanks for sharing the New York laws with us. Here in Mississippi all we have to do is register with our Public school truancy office.

      @@creatingcommunity7022 She is right I live in the same state
      New York. We do have a lot of guidelines unfortunately. But I take it as a positive like if I ever need to send my children back to public school if there is an emergency by writing the reports and taking standardized tests academically the public school will know exactly what grade level they
      are on. And I won't have the fear of them placing them back several grades.

    I would love to see that form up close. I'm trying to understand the syllabi part. This will be my first school year as a full time work and home school mom along with my husband. Our children will be 3rd and 9th grade. Also, a video explaining how to graduate a homeschooler would be helpful. I'm a resident in upstate NY ( Western New York)

    I love HSLDA, I work a lot with homeschool families and they have been a God sent! Man NY is tough. You’ve got this down though!

    Yikes, so many guidelines. I guess I'm grateful for the state I'm in. Great job explaining. This is very helpful for families who are looking to start homeschooling.

    Hello Kim, this was very informative. My sister in law home schooled in the 70's and they were really hard on her. She had a 4 year degree and was very qualitied she was the only one in our district that home schooled. To bad it was now rather than back then. 💕 NonnaGrace

    In Washington state, we don't have to report anything until age 8. And our credit hours are "liberally construed," so it's fairly free here.

    Yes I would like a detailed look at the ihip. That’s what I thought this video was going over. How to write it out. Do I go straight from the table of contents in the curriculum ?

    • @creatingcommunity7022
      @creatingcommunity7022  4 года назад +1

      Yes you can. Or from the syllabus. I use the forms found on Homeschool Legal Defense.

    Great video for explaining homeschooling in NY. It’s dumb that you are required standardized testing but at least in your district you get to create your own. I wonder how that would work for unschoolers or maybe that’s not allowed in NY?

      I have done videos on curriculum that I used for 2nd and 3rd grade that you can refer to for ideas.

    How do you find other parents who homeschool in my area?

    • @creatingcommunity7022
      @creatingcommunity7022  3 года назад +1

      You can do a search on Facebook for local groups. Your local library will many times also know of homeschool groups in your area as well.

    Hi Ms Kim. Thank you for this wonderful video. I’m about to homeschool my daughter, she’s 11 and entering 6th grade. I know I don’t need to show the school her immunization record. What about if I’m planning to send her back for high school ? Is it mandatory that she need to vaccinate all the shots that she miss while homeschooling? Thank you. Can you share your daily homeschool schedule?

    • @creatingcommunity7022
      @creatingcommunity7022  4 года назад

      The best answer I can give you would be to contact Homeschool Legal Defense. They are an amazing organization and they would help you with that question. I will try to get a video out soon. We are very busy with a move. Thank you so much for watching. 💜
