Hip-hop started with "Up jumps the buggity-b," with niggas in tight leather pants, & big ass heels with huge rubber soles to even it out to a shoe. This is rap; them dumb unlyrical assholes went back to hip-hop with a little/lot more feminine look. Budden brings back what Rakim did not hip-hop.
No no no Devon, sorry bro but youre wrong, there were rappers who werent just rapping about dancing and partying way before Rakim even tho I do know he did help it move forward. Grandmaster Flash who is one of the Grandfathers of Hip Hop and the Furious Five had songs like "The Message" way back in 1983 and Afrika Bambaataa who was one of those guys who made early hip hop party songs, was also one of the original starters of hip hop battles all the way back in 1977. He had rappers under him who had BARS and they battled other groups....youre just wrong my friend

Let's get this man some views. Budden been a Top 5 artist for about 10 years IMO. He's evolving musically now and has finally found a producer where their styles compliment one another. I always felt his biggest flaw was production. Araab is no joke... ask Cam and Vado. Looking forward to the album.

I agree with you both but he needed to switch up. His sound was getting mundane and predictable which is why new listeners sleep on him. You have to be a diehard to know what he's capable of. WE know his skills but a lot of others don't. He needed a producer who has a little mainstream success but who is also still hungry. That's Araab. His beats are dark and hard...mix that up with a lyricist and you have a winning recipe.
