I've gotten so much respect for game designers from watching your videos. They really have to account for all sorts of nonsense from their playerbase, while still giving someone the idea they're doing good. Which they seem to be pulling off. So that's incredible really. Well done designers.
Monster train is great, too bad it doesn't lend itself too well to streaming. It's a deep game. Also I just commented this to boost engagement. You do make it a lot of fun to watch.
I have become cursed from watching Rhapsody play this game for 50 billion hours. When you got the Heph event and didn’t take the multi strike guy, I was like, “CMON MAN! How does he not know about the secret next event that happens if you get a certain number of those cards in your deck?!” and then went, “Oh. Right. It’s secret.”
@@Revenger373 both cards get an upgrade added to them when you move to the next ring if yu have 4 or more of them. spikedriver colonies get +20 attackk and remove the duplicate on extinguish effect, Automatic Railspikes get +10 magic power and consume, and remove the duplicate on slay effect. because the cards change by getting an upgrade added to them, its best to try and get magic shop or steel shop upgrades before you duplicate to 4 in your deck, so it can overstack the upgrades.
@@stephenclarkin4578 That wasn't what I was talking about. During its release I was one of the top 10 players and was part of a podcast with several other content creators. We felt that much of the balance changes they were making were going in the incorrect direction, and that they were putting focus on the wrong things to make an evergreen game. There are still easily fixable niggles that exist in the game from launch, and none of the things that would make content creators go crazy over it was ever implemented.
I know there is a pyre ready on most village squares, powered by the sts community, for the case someone saying this, but Monster Train is imho just genre peak.
i know its kind of taboo to mention other youtubers in comments but I really think this game deserves way more love on the platform. If you're interested in high level Monster Train gameplay, please, please go check out RisingDusk or ItsTangilicious. Both post Monster Train videos a few times a week and are highlights of my day.
Olexa i bought landlord and terracards as you said can you give chance to 'dice and fold' i started playing like 2 days ago and i think i am addicted. I want to see you play so bad.Thanks for good content!
And they've still kept that error in the description of the game, and no one seems to catch it. Very odd. 'Multiple vertical battlegrounds.' The battlegrounds are horizontal. Always have been. If they were vertical battlegrounds, you'd be fighting from bottom to top, not left to right.
Oh, overconfidence is your main enemy 😅 +8 enemy attack doesn't worth any price. You want to hide your Rector at the 3rd floor during last battles. I'ts pity that you hadn't tried exiled heroes and didn't meet Talos boss.
18:44 not really an useless card, you probably want to Increase the burnout on the Armor dude to actually get armor here and there as its not giving any armor dying at end of turn. 26:40 your relic causes damage when you use a consume (1 time use) card. 31:22 battle order is Top to bottom, center to outer. So your units dies after the resolve process. 54:30 So the extra damage got you, but I think you could have still won, I think if you let hero tank some damage turn 1, and let the other units on the back to kill, you could have had it a bit under control, but ofc game plays differently and maybe still is a lose. Also when playing this class the heal + burnout is a nice premium card, that heal is super good.
The dlc makes runs more complex. It introduces pact shards, which is a mechanic that lets you get some great upgrades at the cost of giving enemies buffs too. In my opinion, it is very much worth buying if you like the base game :)
The dlc adds a lot, but you should be at least familiar with the game to appreciate it. If you can win basic runs then yes, absolutely. It has a mechanic where you can make your cards BUSTED but you pay for it with increased difficulty for the rest of the run, there's a new clan, new events and relics, and a new final boss
Game is good and could be great if it got a couple of final balance passes, but there are some characters/decks that are shockingly terrible (umbra, for ex) and some that are shockingly easy (imp queen for ex), for no explicable reason other than either laziness or lack or QA. There are mods that fix this, but balance "mods" always kind of leave a certain less-than-pleasant taste in my mouth. It wouldn't kill the actual devs to simply do a balance patch to make some of the more horrible builds and cards actually playable...
And yeah, STS has some "bad cards" but nothing is as unplayable bad as, say, mine collapse. You can win A20 runs with a clash build if the stars align. Nothing in MT makes a card like mine collapse playable ever, it's just always bad.
@@shemsuhor8763mine collapse is good. Can clear backline, gives you energy, goes well with emberdrain, a lot of upgrades are good on it (-1, +10, +20 consume, +10 piercing or +30 let you play it for free)

"Did anyone know Monster Train has mods"
Last I checked yeah, but the only 4 classes are:
* cute candy things
* anime
* anime (edgy)
* my little pony)
31:30 they didn't come back because rector resolved before they died because the train resolves from top down
I think monster train has been the GOAT for a while. 🎉

It does, one of the best roguelikes I have played. Being the bad guys is awesome, being a mix of two bad guys each with his unique deck is just GOTY.

That last stage brings a certain Darkest Dungeon quote to mind 😂

I’ve found this game through this video and I just want to say thank you, I’ve been obsessed with it for a few days now top tier game
Monster Train is so much fun, I might like it even more than StS honestly!
Keep up the great work man, i find most roguelikes just from your channel and found Dungeons and Degenerate Gamblers from you.

Just this morning, I started a new Monster Train save after 3 years of not playing. What a weird coincidence.

Monster Train was never really a game that I liked that much, compared to Slay the Spire and other similar games.
