    Hi super cool to see the NC out & about I dearly hope you will still be doing videos on the the NC . Yes excellent bag plenty of room great to just thow over & go . Waterproof & a lot of durability in them . I think that was s little unfortunate about the stitching but I am sure it could be easy remedied with a little if it needed to be . Light weight than boxes & stored out the way when not needed . Thanks for sharing your review on the bags .

      Thanks mate. Yes. I agree the straps are repairable but I didn’t want to make excuses for the product.
      Wendy had hard cases on her 500x and there were VERY heavy when empty!

      @@AfricaTwin-Stuff Absolutely agree on that last one, I do it often. Clears the soul and mind. The latter mostly of the clutter that others like to put in it 😁

    Nice video, mate. A word of warning for all NC750 owners - I had a set of bags (I honestly can't remember the brand) on my 2022 NC750X DCT with the same sort of velcro strap setup, through the rear saddle. Sure enough, one day when trying to refuel, the saddle jammed and I could NOT get it open. Yes, the cable that operates the latch broke! Even my local and well-trusted Honda shop could not get the saddle open. They had to contact Honda in Japan, but lo and behold, there was no procedure! According to Honda (so sayeth the local mechanics), even Honda didn't know. Finally, after much communication flying back and forth between Japan and Chico, California, and with some creative "reaching" and a nick in the seat material, they got it sorted. I bit the rather expensive bullet and now have a set of SW Motech bags, with broad velcro straps fitted OVER the rear saddle, complete with the stabilizing arms to keep the bags from catching the rear wheel. Expensive, but good quality. I'll NEVER again put anything through the rear saddle.

      Thanks for this tip. I have the 2022 NC750X DCT also. I always worry about that cable breaking. Since this happening, have you figured out a way to avoid this problem?

    • @martinsmotorbikestuff2478
      @martinsmotorbikestuff2478 10 месяцев назад +2

      I got one for you: if turning the key left to open the saddle meets more resistance than usual, use your other hand to firmly press down on the rear seat. Takes a lot of stress off the lock and cable. But always better to avoid putting things under the seat if you can.

      @martinsmotorbikestuff2478 - yes. I agree.

      Often, my saddle won't open completely unless I do that. It's just habit now. @@martinsmotorbikestuff2478

    Hi, I use the Oxford throw over panniers, 1 thin Velcro strap which goes under the rear seat and 2 thick ones that go over.
    When refuelling I undo the top ones, lift the seat and refuel.
    The single strap keeps the panniers in situ while I refuel.
    I have a rear rack, but no pannier mounts, the bags hold loads and are water proof.
    I just have to make sure they are mounted high enough and are braced with additional bungee cords for peace of mind.
    Bike is 2022 NC 750 X manual.

    I have the WildHeart 40L bags. They have straps that go around the bags. As a result there is no stitching to be challenged in quite the way that yours were. They are pretty plain bags but look more resilient ten the Kemimoto one you featured. Thanks for an honest, critical review.

    Nice review. The bags look like good quality, but that stitching issue is a head-scratcher for sure. The place where the greatest strain will occur is also the place where we see the weakest stitching. Definitely built to a price. I suppose you could strengthen the stitching in that area quite easily with some heavy-duty thread and a needle, but then you pierce the waterproofing in that location. I think you were being polite in describing that flaw as a disappointment. I see it as a show-stopper. Good thing you got them for free.

    I also use the Nelson Rigg panniers and find them good value. Also have the knock off Chinese soft bags that look like the Kreiger bags. Not as thick in material but just as water proof. Also fits on my Kreiger outfit. Great review as always and I ride a rear fueler f800gs.

    I made my own soft pannier racks for my Himalayan. Where yours have 4 eyelets running horizontal , mine is running vertical, and I use two straps vertical which hold and support the weight of the bags, no stress on the bags.

      My racks are built specially fir my Nelson Rigg bags that have the straps on the side. This the rings on the side.

      @3goldfinger 10 месяцев назад

      @@AfricaTwin-Stuff I use the two rings on the back to hook it on, then two vertical straps. I have a piece plywood in the bottom of each bag.

    Good review Adrian, The bags would look good on Wendy's Vulcan S . How is she liking it?

    • @AfricaTwin-Stuff
      @AfricaTwin-Stuff  10 месяцев назад +1

      Thanks mate. Wendy has some more stylish bags on the Vulcan (Kominie semi-rigid). We did a two day trip last weekend doing 750km all up.
      Suspension is the only issue. The cruiser had shorter suspension than the 500x and is taking a bit of getting used to.

      It’s pretty typical of a dry-bag pannier.
      Some purpose- built racks would be better.
