This is not too heavy for Sick Puppies. Different? Yes. The teaser sounds like a mix of Like a Storm and reminds me of An Island by Chevelle. I guess we'll just have to wait and see what's to come.

lol... the people commenting that this is "too death metal" have obviously never listened to actual death metal. This is still hard rock, and it sounds pretty fuckin awesome imo.

First impression: they've taken on a somewhat metalcore sound. I'm not sure if I'm okay with that.
Kinda reminds me of 'Dressed up as life', we will know soon though :)

It's tough to tell just from two yells that are still the kind of thing that appeared in their music before, but that coupled with the whole "new era" thing does have me admittedly concerned about a major genre shift.
But hey, if that's the direction the band goes, then that's what happens. I'd rather hear the music they want to write rather than feel forced into writing.
