    You did a really good job on this video! Very helpful. I am really surprised how different those cameras are. I knew there would be some differences but not this big! lol

      Haha yeah very big differences indeed. Thanks bro. I have no Idea why I called it kitevision though haha.

    For a cheap camera, it wasn't that bad and would be great for a new vlogger.
    Great comparison; well-done.

    The kitvision makes the sky look like water lol. You're right not even close to the same, but i think it would be fine for running as a commuting cam.

    • @SpikeyOfficial
      @SpikeyOfficial  9 лет назад

      PistnRods Yeah I think it would be a great little commute camera. It's a shame that the frames shake a bit. Might have to try it on my other mount to see if that reduces the shake.

  • @DRCsyntax
    @DRCsyntax 9 лет назад +1

    It's a good traffic/commuting camera, in case some crap goes down. The shake between the two cameras is essentially the same, however because the kitvision doesn't have as wide an angle, the shaking appears more extreme.
    Good comparison!

    • @SpikeyOfficial
      @SpikeyOfficial  9 лет назад

      DRCsyntax Yeah I think the go pro having a wide angle helps a lot. That's the one thing I don't like about wide angle lens is that everything looks further away than it actually is.

    Could you make the bike mount point the other way? I have a pit bike and would like do do some recording with my kitvision that I have got recently, I'm oblivious at how to use it.

  • @Quarantain

    Did you manage to connect the Kitvision Escape to your phone so that you could use the latter as a view finder? I tried the Ez iCam App to no avail.

  • @NJPurling

    I was of the opinion that this camera has only a 480p sensor which is interpolated (enlarged) & cropped to the letterbox aspect ratio. It may be 1280x720 pixels but it is not HD.
    The big clue is that there is no HDMI socket. It's alright for kids, but unwise to buy immediately before a holiday and expect HD footage.
    I actually did buy a SJ4000 which I still have.

    Good thorough comparison. Night image quality and sky image on kite is near non existent lol. Fine for day though. Dang I haven't done video in like months..I have reasons, but not making excuses - upgraded hard disk and memory and full system reinstall as wasn't responding much to editing lately, plus I had stomach cramps for a week, not nice :/. I'll be catching up with your videos spikey as well as my other favourite vloggers! :)

  • @Phil480
    @Phil480 9 лет назад

    Good one, Spikey. Thanks for showing us the comparison, it does show that you get what you pay for. The Kitvision doesn't seem too bad for £30, but you can instantly see the better quality and stability on the GoPro, better field of view and exposure.
    I was going to get the Kitvision so had a look around the Tesco stores down here but had no joy finding any. Now I've seen this, I think I'll pay a bit extra and go for the GoPro Hero.

    • @Phil480
      @Phil480 9 лет назад

      Phil480 That being said, what is the battery life like in comparison?

    • @SpikeyOfficial
      @SpikeyOfficial  9 лет назад

      Phil480 Haha yeah exactly, it just shows you pay a bit more money and you get a whole lot more. Not tested it on the battery life yet but you can change the battery on the kitvision where as on the HERO you can't and the kitvision battery is the same as the go pros battery.

    • @Phil480
      @Phil480 9 лет назад

      TheSpikeyBiker Ah yes. I'll have to consider the options. I may even save up the pennies and get a Ghost S and use my Ghost as my second camera.

    • @SpikeyOfficial
      @SpikeyOfficial  9 лет назад

      Haha yeah I would have to agree on saving up the pennies. And by the time you have saved enough then it might have gone down in price.

  • @bloodyhell451
    @bloodyhell451 9 лет назад +1

    Yo Spikey. I own a Hero 3 and the SJ4000. The image quality on the SJ kncks the socks off the Hero 3. Just watch any rear angle shot on any of the last videos. However - the SJ isn't built the same (so we'll see about reliability) and might not take a mic via USB adapter. I'll have to try. But the SJ is dynamite for ergonomics & image quality. And there are more options (angle, ISO, video quality) than on a Hero 3.

    • @SpikeyOfficial
      @SpikeyOfficial  9 лет назад

      vitaly deuterium It is a shame that some of these cheaper cameras lack the mic input but I guess that's why they are cheap :P. I bet there are so many people that want to get in to motovlogging but it's really the cost of doing it. Because it is an expensive hobby haha.

    • @bloodyhell451
      @bloodyhell451 9 лет назад +1

    Good comparison video, was pretty obvious the GoPro would win mainly for the reason that it has 1080p video - compared to Kitvision Escape HD5's 720p, i don't think they're comparable as they lie in 2 different spaces in the market: under £50 RRP and £100 RRP, in which space the specs will be completely different and the target user is also very different.
    Interesting and more relative comparisons would be the GoPro Hero vs the Kitvision Escape HD5W which has 1080p, built in display and WiFi for £80/£100 (on paper beats GoPro) and comparing the Kitvision Escape HD5 to a model of the same price - probably Vivitar.

    • @SpikeyOfficial
      @SpikeyOfficial  9 лет назад

      Matt Holden Thanks mate :D. Yeah that is very true. Compared to the Vivitar it would win hands down.

    If its all you can afford or want to spend on a basic camera then the cheapie one has more than sufficient image quality, but overall the gopro is clearly alot better, but of course comes in with the higher price tag. Nice comparison vid Spikey, RS! x

    • @SpikeyOfficial
      @SpikeyOfficial  9 лет назад +1

      Bex88 Thank you :D. Yeah I think the go pro wins hands down but if your new to motovlogging and not sure if it's your thing or not then the cheap one is the right way to go because it can become a really expensive hobby.

  • @playandroid276
    @playandroid276 8 лет назад +1

    the track review you can't really compare, it's the same as photography the natural light changes every couple of minutes so every picture will have a different light scene. apart from the stability of the video the kitvision matched up with the quality of the trees etc.. the garden also I really can't see why people would pay the extra ££££ when to be honest to the average Joe you could not really tell the difference, for £30 it's a good match for the cheaper ends of the go pros. unless your will buy the more expensive go pros I would just stick to the cheaper kitvision camera,

    • @SpikeyOfficial
      @SpikeyOfficial  8 лет назад

      +PlayAndroid Yeah with out a doubt. It's a great camera for if your just starting out. And I gave that camera to my friend in France and it still is working to this day. And if I am honest it has less vibration on his bike and gives a better quality picture than it did on mine.

    Well, obviously the GoPro was superior. But being an SJ4000 user myself, I have to say that the Kitevision was far inferior to the SJ4000. I have two cameras that I mainly use. An SJ4000 and a TCL SVC200. I almost always go with the SJ because the quality is absolutely incredible! While it can't do 60 frames per second, the clarity and crispness of video images is wonderful! In my opinion anyway.

    • @SpikeyOfficial
      @SpikeyOfficial  9 лет назад +1

      SoopaBee Yeah that is true. I think the sj4000 has a wider angle too. So many cameras to choose from now days which is a good thing.

    • @Shooting-Up
      @Shooting-Up 7 лет назад

      SoopaBee i use sj4000 and cant fault the video, sound is crap for biking but i just use my iphone for external sound recording
      The mic in the sj is fine without any windnoise but you cannot buy a better camera for 40 quid

  • @RcNerd
    @RcNerd 8 лет назад

    Sj4000 runs upto 60fps & 1080p the HD5 IS MAX at 30fps only on 720p
    Sj is on .MOV
    HD5 is in AVI I prefer the Sj it's 50 times better than the HD5 IMO HD5 is rubbish for an extra £9.99 you can get a Sj4000 go pro are overated and by the news they are losing revenue because of new contenders. SJ is best but the HD5 is ideal for easy footage. SJ can beat Go pro.

      Check again SJ5000 does 60fps doesn't mean shit these days as 4K is getting better.
      My 4000 runs at 720 60fps. Cheers for pulling the error out. Wait till you see what the SJ10 Can do that thing is on its way. I've had a 4000 For 5 years it's just started to get a sound problem. Sj gave me a new one. GP are not helping the customers as they are all losing money.
