There’s also the fact that you’re below your starting point, so you’ll travel a similar distance, but some of the blocks you travelled through will have been water.
16:26 + jump boost 2, takes it to 4507. Not a big difference, but it is higher. Zedaph did this on HermitCraft Season 9, but wasn’t able to get the full height alone, so he got the help of Tango Tek to adjust the floor height on a stream, and fell the full distance in survival.

@@wyattowens204 Indeed. Even though Minecraft is a sandbox there are people willing to help make the experience easier. Skip has his own style of doing it.
18:00 the shallow pool makes you travel through water for a shorter amount of time, hence slowing you down less, try using a riptide trident completely under water, you lose momentum almost instantly
1:20 If you use a resource pack that makes all characters have a 0px width, you can make a sign as large as you want, as those checks are done on the client.
18:14 the reason why riptide flies further in a shallow pool more than a deep one is because when the player entity uses the enchantment fully underwater the water block above him slows his momentum. this is the case when doing water clutches or falling from a distance into floating water then onto the ground. you get slowed down a bit and lose momentum
14:15 ; I also found a fall damage bug once in 1.19.2 while experimenting with deaths. If you log out while falling and quite close to touching the ground and than log back in, you don`t take any fall damage, even if you were falling from the high build limit.
18:15: riptide was designed to shoot you through the water, but you can dolphin jump out, however, riptideing through water is slower that the movement you get through the air. Higher levels of riptide don't make you go farther, they make the boost effect longer. So moving through as little water as possible, ensures you move the farthest.
18:08 I’m pretty sure that the reason why you go a shorter distance is because of the water resistance code. Basically, the water slows you down, giving you less momentum, and thus, less distance.
Shallow water makes less drag but deeper water makes more drag so when you use a riptide trident the more drag will slow you down and make you go a lesser height 22:31 pm 22:37
dunno if any commenters mentioned this but Cactuses, earlier on in beta minecraft, also used to render significantly larger as dropped items than anything else
27:25 bedrock handles rendering better, because it’s coded in a more efficient language. While that won’t mean your old iPhone, iPad, or low end android device will work amazingly most of the times, it means more capable machines can go wild. The game still needs a beefy cpu, but it’s like a more efficient version of Java Minecraft + optifine with the GPU load split options on, which means even a low end GPU and CPU can run the game great. Unlike Java where you’ll most likely be at half the render distance or less.
The reason that using riptide in a deep pool is worse then a shallow one is becouse the game counts it from your feet and because moving in water is slower then in air the extra block of water will slow you down making it so that you wont go as high
Fact 32 (18:08) my theory is why you dont go as high with a 2 block deep water then 1 block deep water is: the top water block in the 2 block deep water slows you down because the speed is giving from the feet.
With trading piglins farms you don’t need a moving gold block with a piston you can just use a chest.. at least on bedrock, I haven’t been on Java in a minute.
with the riptide works better with one water block the reason why it works better is because there is like a split-second slowdown after the launch that makes you go less as high.

Yeah it's just drag/water resistants.
