Being 57 sitting here watching guys like you and Kevin do your thing brings me back to high school when I would spend my lunch reading American Airplane Modeler, RC Cars, Model builder and whatever else they could get! Anyway, been haunting you and Kevin for a loooong time (years Actually) . I have finally legitimized my lurking by subscribing to you and Kevin at the same time Love you guys! 'I've always been crafty and the church sales have been kind, so even with limited resources people can make wonderful things that fly, swim and race as fast as the imagination can take you. Finally bit the bullet and bought a 2 wheel drive Rustler 6 weeks ago loved it out of the box (not as fast as my 35 year old sons' x max, but cheaper). After about a total 6 hours of average bashing i started losing range and then no more motor either. Long story short store I bought it from said that it was not worth price and trouble of shipping, plus the fact that Traxxas makes it hard for Canadians to warranty and repair things. So, 1 Hobbywing brushless motor and new FlySky transmitter later, even more fun. Sorry for the rambling post, there are just too many feelies! Sniff! Man my Wife is going to laugh her as@ off at this post.
Nice to see a TRX4 alternative that performs decent. It's a very nice looking truck that would be a good base for some kind of Mad Max apocalyptic build. Thanks for the review!
Great video phill.Looks good.shame they didn't leave the windows clear.i can't believe so many companies are still painting the windows when the no the community want scale clear windscreens atleast.
I love the GS02F! I'd choose one over ANY other 1/10 trail truck. In-fact, I did! Some bigger tyres would give you better clearance on the bumper. I have the Komodo Double Cab and the bumper on that makes this one look tiny! But, you learn to overcome.

Nice! I liking what I see of GMade RC's, I bought the GOM kit last year, a really enjoyable build. The thing is effortless out on the trail or crawling. I prefer it to my TRX4!
i can tell that mine bumbs this way even with oil in it. Have the softest stock springs. I made warm white leds myself. It's my first crawler and i like it (was a kit). No problem in reverse with a 35t brushed motor an hobbywing esc on 3s. Runs 12-13kph in 2nd gear
Loved the intro haha only down side to this rig as far as I can see is the springs which is easily fixed and the stickers for windows they should of left that part of the body clear but still give you the stickers that way you have the option if putting in a interior but other than that looks a good solid rig
I've had a GS02 for a year now and I love it. I think the shocks are pretty bad, but the truck has been great. I have the kit BOM and it's my favorite rig. Hobbywing Fusion and 2 speed...close to 20mph in 2nd gear, but the slowest crawl when you want.
Not a bad kit. Not sure why they didn’t think the light bar through. It needs to be run through the receiver and part of the lipo that runs the rig. But overall pretty nice looking trail rig
Very nice cool truck! 👍😊👍 But for the price and stock form capabilities, parts availability, still Redcat Gen8 V2 and TRX-4 sport for me, just my choice and opinion.
SSD alloy front knuckles and the SSD knuckle weights turns these into a awesome climber, there such light weight trucks they need a little low down weight to really shine
Another good alternative would be the Absima Sherpa CR3.4 I believe you have reviewed this before but it came under a different brand name but I’m not sure
So yeah we have the G-made here in the US Hobby shops and G-made. US warehouse. They’re really slow to restock here and i’ve just never pulled the trigger. Maybe they could send me one in the retail box 📦. Lol I really enjoyed it. The suspension looked good on camera. 👌
I really like it, not sure about the black, need to look into what other colours they do.... I think the front underguard may actually help get past the bumper issue ??
I have the GS01 build kit and on stock parts I felt it was under performing, and a bit of a pig to build. But I recently put some TRX4 shocks on it and the wheels and tyres from my TRX4 Bronco and it's now reasonable to drive.
Thank you for a good and honest review Tom. I'm currently looking into getting my first crawler, at the moment I'm swaying towards the ftx outback fury 2.0 after watching you're review on the truck. In your personal experience what would you say is the best out the box ready to run crawler. Kind regards Deano
This is an interesting rig. It could be one of the nicer rigs I've seen I think. Suspension upgrade to start with maybe. Try gearing it down some how? Should be lots of fun.
I rather the companies leave the oil out of the shocks , so i can set up the suspension to the way i drive . Great video Phil , looks good😉👍🏼💯i bet that would look cool af, at night, Murda Out!!!!
So I'm pretty sure they do that because of hot/cold cycles while shipping, as the oil will change it's weight a bit due to temperatures, thus maybe making them leak? This thing looks awesome, gotta get my hands on one for sure!
GOOD AFTERNOON PHIL. WELL IT LOOKS VERY NICE. IF IT PERFORMS AS WELL AS IT LOOKS ITS A GREAT TRUCK. TAKE CARE BUDDY HOPE YOU HAVE A GREAT WEEK SIR🇬🇧🕊️✌🏻👍🏻
Now that's definitely a great contender very nice indeed looks fantastic and seams to be very good suspension can be adjusted a couple things change can be improved but definitely a yes from me
The Gmade trucks are very good I have three in my collection , the Bom , Komodo and the R1 , my Bom I always preferred over my Trx-4 Defender out the box until I spent a small fortune on the Defender to make it usable, I fancy the Buffalo I love the body and I like the two speed box but the supplied shocks need work or upgrading, but what a great looking truck . Stay safe mate ...
Pretty impressive truck, Tomley! 😃 Really nice indeed!!! And that 3s GNB battery would be great for a TP3! 😬 Anyway, stay safe there with your family! 🖖😊
Funny thing is I put Gmade shocks on a 70 buck cheep Braave 14tg scale cause they ft . 50 buck for the shock and some 12buck tires and rims made all the difference. Could have spent 150 but it's not as much fun. Modding rtr and building is what I like . So get a aluminium front bumper and winch next?
Not looking to buy another RC but if I was think this would be it! Thinking about a Buffalo body set though! There about the £280/£380 mark on ebay at the moment not the most expensive that's for sure!
Yes this is an epic truck man ! I do love the blacked out look, and small diameter rims.! Hey Phil, I’ll trade you some snowflake stickers for a couple of those G-made stickers🤣😝❄️
I love the look of that truck but it seems a little top heavy, I've been eyeing up the bom for some time and this could be a very attractive alternative
love the body ooh err, don't like the window stickers, be better tinted i think, gmade have some brilliant trucks, really like this one, quarry reminds me of nevada desert😀👍👍
I've built about a half-dozen of their kits and have messed with some RTR's (some for myself, some for some friends). What I've learned is the following. 1) Either put internal wheel weights on the factory wheels or buy some heft aftermarket ones. This is a good idea for any crawler, but it really helps settle the Buffalo's. I prefer aluminum wheels WITH internal weights in front. Adds about 600g low down total and more front bias...yes it's spinning weight, but the drive train can handle it just fine. 2) Replace the factory shocks. They seem nice because they use quality materials and look good, but they're too bouncy regardless of weight/spring combo. The best luck I've had with the factory springs is 70W oil with SCX10 II springs...but a set of TRX4 shocks is cheap and is better still, or if you want to spend the money on Prolines, Ottsix, Vanquish, etc...all are a massive upgrade. 3) RTR needs a better ESC. A HW 1080 turns it into a much better crawler. 4) Factory tires are pretty good, but need better foams to really shine. 3BRC anti-foams make a world of difference. But some 4.75" tires do a great deal in making it more capable and solving some of the clearance issues with the front. 5) These make a much better trail truck than a full-on crawler.
All good points but true of any rtr, of course 👍 As for the shocks, I use RC4WD springs (0.8 rate) with 40wt in front/50wt in rear (or less, in colder weather) and the stock shocks work great. It takes a little experimenting but no need to upgrade (not that that has ever stopped anyone 😉)
Could someone give me a tad bit of help? Does rhe front bumper use circular mounts or square mounts? I like the bumper style but gonna be putting it on a different crawler
I destroyed my front pinion/bevel gear yesterday. Otherwise it's has been a great kit the last year. I'm removing overdrive in the gearbox before installing new gears. Hope that makes it slightly more durable.

Good review, really enjoyed the drive video. The Buffalo is going to be a great trail truck and, with a little work, a competent crawler. Get rid of that bumper though and those window decals, ugh (just give us clear windows). I have the GMade shocks and they are notoriously overdamped, even their soft springs. The RC4WD springs (Part Number: Z-S1185) has a 0.8 rate spring that works great. GMade is making some really nice stuff, I just wish their distribution network was better. Still, a big fan and hope to see more from them.
That's funny, the two speed is the number one "NO" for me. I would consider it otherwise, just cuz I like G-Made stuff. I've got 3. That's the cool thing about the game. We all bring something slightly different to the table. Hope you have a good day .
My first crawler was a Gmade R1, and if I hadn't won my TRX4, I would probably still have that, or maybe the Komodo Double Cab. Great looking trucks, but they feel very light, compared to a TRX4. My mate has one (a kit version of this), and he's had a few little issues. The only thing that really bugs me with this body, is the screws in the arches rust so easily! And they're so prominent!! But I'd still have one in a heartbeat. 😎👍🏻
Can you do a review on HNR mars x? Since it's not a very famous brand I can't get proper reviews of it. I have the HNR mars pro and it's a very good car for its price. The mars x is a 1:8 scale truggy. But I'm liking the brand. Would be nice to see a proper review
I am going to buy this bad boy very soon. I actually did not know this existed until last week. I have two Trx4's right now, a new 21 Bronco and the 79 Bronco. They are both great but after owning the 6s Typhoon blx, the trx4 is justbtoo damn slow, way to slow in fact. I know they are crawlers but still, more speed is needed. This one sounds like it is significantly faster than the trx4 but it also can crawl. Close to 20 mph plus crawling ability is the perfect trail truck for me.

Does this go 20mph?
Wish they offered one with actual windows. Rtr is $534 so for that price I would expect real windows but I am still buying me one...
cool looking rc and nice crawling
Thanks mate
@@TomleyRC 👍✌😁
Love the pointing hand lol
Nice...are you still an MN fan?? MN999 soon??
Hopefully the MN999 should be here at some point. Although from what I’ve seen, it may be a let down
Definitely looks like an awesome trail rig 👍 or maybe a cool truck to tow a trailer with a real rock crawler on it!!
Those tires do look very nice and sticky.! But damn the car is bouncing like crazy :)
That slow mo is dynamite!
Great . Another one added to the collection 🤦♂️ obviously I got the kit
This needs huge tires. SCX-6 or even 4s outcast type tires would look good.
that's a LOT of vehicle for the money. RTR around $349 USD + shipping.
I love mine!!!
