Hi Niko, which app were you using on the display? Did you mention it? I didn't notice.
I assume you mean the app to plan the trip with SoC on arrival and everything? That‘s PUMP, awesome app!
@@dieserNiko Thanks a lot. Never heard of it. Assumed it to be from the Apple universe... maybe it is?
@derkeniry2008 I mean it‘s an app inside of CarPlay so that kind of makes it that. Not sure if it‘s available for Android yet!
@@dieserNiko No, unfortunately it's not available for the Android world. One has to stick to ABRP, which is so 'lala'.
@derkeniry2008 Quite good for orientation and general planning but I never use it 100% to navigate with 😅
At 1:10, you show battery 97% on a small digital display screen. Is this an accessory item or upgrade ?
It’s a little custom made SOC screen powered by a raspberry pi and the data from the diagnostic port of my car! I already thought about making a video about it if there‘s someone interested in it.
@@dieserNiko This would be interesting and a great solution if the components are not too expensive. Many e-Golf owners resort to using the WeConnect ID. App on a mobile phone to get battery %.
Your solution is so much better.
I‘m doing the same thing when the car‘s turned off, but the screen is very useful while driving as you can guess way better how far you are really able to go without just the guess-o-meter range which is of course not always correct with mountains and stuff 🤷🏼♂️
my solution was about let me say 40-50€, but currently raspberry pi zeros are quite expensive as there are not many produced because of the chip shortage i guess… I will make a video about it soon!
How is it possible to get the current charging speed from OBD2 port? Could you release your source code? Would be great to have something like that in my e-Golf. Charging speed and SOC are much needed information. A video about that would be helpful and interesting. Thanks.
The source code (it’s an inefficient python script) is up on github. Here‘s the link: github.com/dieserNiko/eGolfOBDBattery
As soon as I‘m done editing all the roadtrip videos, I‘m gonna make a video about the little screen as well, I hope I get the time to do that soon!
04:27: 400m down gives you roughly 1,6kWh, which would be around 15km of additional range (for 15kWh/100km)
Additionally to the distance driven down!
@@dieserNiko That's what I wanted to say.
@@dieserNiko How did you teach your Golf to 'speak' English?
Ah, right. Still quite a good gain I would say!
You mean change the infotainment language? That‘s a setting somewhere in there 🤔
Subbed as 316
Thanks!
