Wow, such a simple fix! Wish I had thought of that! I have an ASUS ME 301T 10.1 which I really love. The screen became cracked (my carelessness) and it sat for a little over a year before I finally replaced the screen. I was so happy it worked! Then, the next day, after it being plugged in all night, nothing. Until I watched your video I thought it was going to be a case of replacing the battery. I am SO happy you made this video! As soon as you talked about a device being left sitting and the battery connector I promptly did it and it worked! Thanks again, Ricardo, for sharing your knowledge and experience!

Thank you for the clear & easy to follow instructions! :)
My T100 had the red battery & not charging situation.
Connecting the power cord to my computer's USB, instead of the Asus Wall-Charger, revived the battery & got back into Windows - but it wouldn't charge past 5%.
I then did as your video showed & bingo! It charged to 100%.
I didn't have that pick-tool, so my blunt object was my fingernail & then a credit card to pop the back panel off.
    Thanks again!!

Wow thanks a million. That saved my ASUS meMO tablet. I started on a corner and pulled it apart and ran fingernail down the sides and it popped open. Have to be really careful like you said when disconnecting the cable. It needed to be pried upwards to get it out and not straight out level with the pad. Powered right on and works perfectly. Thanks for sharing this simple trick!!!

Ricardo, thank you very much. My Asus Memo Pad 8" was not charging- and the charger got very hot. The charge stayed at 27% for 12 hours. USB or wall charging made no difference. I followed your tutorial, and now it is charging fine. The charger is slightly warm, but that is normal.
Also, my thanks to your camera holder. They kept the camera steady so I could watch what you said to do. That made all the difference for me.

I have a different ASUS model, but this fixed mine! I wasn't getting any charge indicator at all. Only the backlight was coming on. After disconnecting just the main battery connector, I still had the problem. But, I noticed a second, smaller connector that also appeared to be coming from the battery. And when I disconnected/reconnected both of them, it worked. Thank you for posting this!

While this is a good fix, it may not be necessary. I've had this issue twice now and just left the tablet sit with no charger for 2 or 3 days. This totally drains the battery. It then charges up no problem. If you can afford the time its much safer than opening up the device. You may also need to do a factory reset to get this method to work.

Thanks for sharing this. My tablet fell off my bedside table last night and wouldn't turn on. When I plugged it in, I got the red battery icon with a question mark inside. Since I dropped it, I figured my warranty wouldn't cover the fix anyways, so I tried this. And it worked! The connector was obviously loose when I opened it up, so I just pushed it back in, and everything is fine.
I love my little tablet. Thank you for helping me save it. :-)

The one I have was recently given to me. Previous owner could not get it to turn on so gave it to me. I open it and noticed the battery connector wasn’t fully seated in. I disconnected and reconnected it with no change.
After a week I run into your video and thought I already did all of that, but didn’t blow on it. I was skeptical but and unsuccessful at first, but tried it a few more times. Then on my last attempt before giving up it started charging.
    Thanks.

Incidentally, the problem is sometimes related to static charge build up. Simply ground the points bare fingers-bare feet etc. I have 'fixed' laptop with non charging batteries and it was the elec charge not allowing the proper conduc 100% of the time. If terminals are in dusty dry air, the static is increased perhaps as i noticed the problem happened in our dry winters almost on cue. So give that a try too before going through the small effort of removing the cover and voiding warranties or buying a new charged battery etc. Great vid, just a thought.

Having only the backlight coming on I tried the above twice to no effect. Then spotted a similar narrower gauge cable clamp looked misaligned. Pushed it home and screen came back. A SA knife blade worked well to open the back, inserted along the side (at a corner) into the gap and elevated the blade edge towards to back plate. Repeat on all side as suggested in video.

You can disconnect battery lead and charge it manually 1-2 amps for a short time to get the voltage up and then reconnect and this also helps if it only charging low amount because of low charge sate . After filling the battery a bit, reconnect and amp rate from tablet will increase and be normal. Only charge manually for a short time and monitor voltage so you NOT over charge it or allow it to get hot!! - The tablet will do the rest of the charging at normal amount and monitor safely.

I would like to know the function of the red, green, yellow, blue and black wires coming out of the battery. My asus TF101 is not connecting or charging the battery, I measured the resistance of the connector of the board where it is connected to the battery the resistance measured between the blue wire and the ground is with 39 men, I wonder if the low value is good. Can someone tell me if it's right?

Ok, I did it. It is not showing the red battery icon anymore, it even seems to be charging... But I would really be surprised if it worked afterwards. At least I saw the insides of it :). Btw if you touch the mother board not much will happen, I even scratched it while doing it and it looked not worse. In order to do some damage to it, you would have to have really wet hands, or being electrified - but you can easily get rid of any electric charge just touching some metal after doing this. So thank you for posting this video that gave me at least some hope.... to be honest I don't see how blowing into the cables can make it work again... but let's see, I did it anyway :D.

Thanks Ricardo! It works now thanks to your video instruction. I only use the tablet to read my car ODBII Bluetooth engine connection. Now I can again! Woohoo!

My memo pad HD doesn't want to charge it stays on 1% so I can only use it when plugged in, will this help me fix the issue?

Before doing this extreme repair did you try using another charge cable before going through and doing a disassembly I ask this as I know with my iPad there can be issues with the charging cable itself failing, before you did a repair did you try using a new cable prior to doing this repair sometimes the pins can fail within the actual plug, something to consider before you take another cover off..

Jason howe Due to the nature of the problem it was not a matter of the device not charging because of the cable but because it could not, and yes we checked that the cable was working. Also this issue has been happening in similar devices and no amount of cable change will help.
