Honestly I thought the mom part of that was the best part of that bar. The sister line is a tee ball bar that should be expected, but not only was the mom line a low blow but it was an exceptional rebuttal to an excellent verse-ender.

Gonna be honest, I think this was the most densely packed battle they have ever done. Took me a few watches to really grasp all the references...
I think the joker/pennywise was denser with references. Like every single line was a reference to something. And on top of that, you didnt even need to get all the deeper meanings to enjoy it. But yeah, this rap battle was incredible.

Honestly my favorite lines for Luke
Legit, the best line luke had was about Harry's Mom.. Harry turned that around on him. Harry's first verse was fucking solid all the way through, most of Luke's stuff was pretty weak tbh. Gryffin-dorky? Dumble-dweeb? You'd expect the series about a group of children going to school to have recess level insults, not the Jedi Grandmaster.
Love both series, honestly. But uhh.. Yikes, this wasn't even close.

Bala Ka Jan completely agree man. Most people think harry due to his cut throat approach. But Luke’s flow, references and burns were so good. Feels cruel to have either of these guys lose.
It wasn’t really close guys. It was actually a decisive victory for Harry. In honesty, please correct me if I’m wrong, Luke’s hardest punch was his line about Harry’s mother being a bulletproof vest, and Harry parried that into one of his hardest haymaker. Luke’s side-by-side comparison of their origins isn’t as scandalous or really even relevant. As it applies to both of them. Luke just summarized the typical hero story arcs found in damn every hero’s story arch from Batman, Superman, Spider-Man Daredevil, Shazam, Darth Vader, Luke Skywalker, Harry Potter hell even Jesus has confliting narrative as to his parentage while simultaneously being the chosen one. I mean just name a hero you’ll often find that they are the chosen orphan that has been gifted some great talent. The old warrior training new one is a plot device to introduce a fish out of water element and the necessary exposition for why or what is driving the plot of the stories. It’s kind of a trope in story telling that we’ve reused on and endless loop In fact I would guess it would be harder to find a hero that grew up in a nuclear family with a great childhood free of any conflict. Is there one? Consequently why fix what isn’t broken, why be creative when you can repackage shit and take it to the bank?
Furthermore insults like “Griffin-Dorkey” and “Dumbledweeb” are ironically playground insults more in expectation of where Harry Potter should be and not of the quality or level one would expect of a Jedi grandmaster.
@@MWolfe1080 well you can argue but agree about Hillary vs Trump(Trump was hilarious and cruel but won) and Wolverine vs Freddy Cruger (the lines your hands are a strap on,there's a pussy underneath,and calling Cruger a pedo from the mid west,with a rebuttal that r Kelly at least he could sing,was the main powerful lines) to be fair I felt both those battles were so one sided 🤔💬😭

No way, half of each verse luke dished out was stupid (griffindorky? Really?) Then talking to r2 for awhile his second verse, meanwhile harry was speed bagging lukes sack all over the stage constantly. Rebutting his best lines and sledgehammering him with followups. His second verse alone carried the entire battle but his first and third were excellent too.

It would be interesting both of them being tempted by the dark side and the unforgivable Curses as the going deeper on their bars.

Harry's backstory wasn't stolen from Luke's. They were both taken from Joseph Campbell's "A Hero's Journey".

Luke slightly easy as his bars hit harder, he was correct in that Harry Potter is a trope done 40+ years after Star wars, so it is easy to call him a clone. An they gave Luke better bars and more confidence each time just like in the original 4,5. and 6 films. Fun watch you seemed to get alot of the bars
The maclunky line was from the very first line in the original star wars trilogy where he is at the table shooting the alien and the alien shouts out Macclunky. The shoot first line is also from that same scene.

Both Star Wars and Harry Potter followed the plot of the Hero's Journey, so they would both have very similar stories. However, Harry Potter did use a lot of similar story beats to Star Wars, which wouldn't have been necessary to go through the Hero's Journey.

In case you were unaware, space travel is a common thing in Star Wars. Someone else could ship it in from other planets that have an abundance of water and sell it.

It's harry potter but in some time in the 1920's I think when one of Dumbledores old friends travels to America to set a few magical creatures free in their natural environments. Needless to say some get out that weren't supposed to and all hell breaks loose.

The "Slytherin a sister" bar was kinda weak. Leia kissed HIM, and they definitely never had sex. It would've been a harder bar if someone was rapping against Leia. Also, why WOULDN'T you want to farm moisture on a desert planet. Seems like one of the most profitable ventures you could have

The thing is, lukes first verse was a lot of wasted effort. His best scheme was to compare their stories and call harry a ripoff but the reality is, lukes story was a ripoff of stories going back to the start of the written word. The hero's journey is so bog standard its not even worth mentioning that its similar. And even if it WAS, its only similar on the most lightest of surface levels. Luke was raised and loved by his aunt and uncle. Harry was hated by his family. Lukes family died, harry had to suffer with them for years after his story started. Luke was a whiny little brat, harry was a quiet kid who always did the right thing. Also, harry didnt make out with his sister, so there is that too. :p
Luke was very hot and cold. Like, half of each verse was kind of lame while the other half ruled, Harry was rock solid every line he dished out. And he had the NASTIEST rebuttals. The bulletproof vest mom line got slammed back in his face, then got stacked on with the line about his sister.

Luke auto won when he compared his story to Harry Potter and....yea seems a lot was taken from it with the basic plot.
Yo both their origin stories are the stereotypical hero/savior story arch. The chosen one being discovered, training up, and overcoming evil or whatever. From Jesus to Potter they are all just a restructuring of the same proverbial hero arch. The only real difference is the world building/setting and the random plot driving Macguffin ie that stupid time turner and that absolutely insanely dumb knife in star wars.
