Meteor Falling Down To Earth Caught On Dash Cam

- Recorded March 8th 2013 in Indiana just after 9pm est. Saw this good sized meteor falling to earth and couldn't believe I actually got it on dash cam. I have seen them before and always wished I had got it on film and now I did :) Quality is pretty crappy cause my dash cam isnt that great at night anymore and I just got done spraying my window off and that is why its wets.
I saw this in person while I was driving on the freeway just West of south bend (facing east) and it exploded directly in my view. I could see pieces break off and burn up. It was very close to me and pretty amazing to see. It's cool to see somebody else not just saw it but also got it on film. :)
Yes, they are also one of my favorites! I did wonder if it was the same singer but I never bothered to look it up. Vilify is beyond one of my favorites of theirs.
Disturbed is one of my all time favorites! Great capture, hopefully you can get one again.
Yeah it was pretty amazing. The video dosent show how bright and breaking apart it was. I'm still amazed that I caught it on my dash cam, once in a lifetime shot forsure. Thanxz for watching :)

I recorded this in Elkhart, IN It was amazing to see in person forsure. I was kinda talking to myself in the car and it just sent me speechless for a sec.

I heard about this on the radio this morning but forgot about it!
They said that a meteor was supposed to pass earth tonight and not to worry because it was not going to hit the planet. We have a nice telescope that would have been perfect to use for this...I wish I hadn't forgotten!
I was walking for my usual 2 hours from 8pm to 10pm here in Kennard, Indiana and I can't believe I got to see it with my own eyes!! Where did you record this??
I did some research and there is comet Pan-STARRS that will be visible in the Northern Hemisphere starting this weekend.
Yeah no kidding, i still can't believe it. I was the only one to capture it on camera to. Lots of people saw it and reported but no footage. So cool :)
We will also be having Comet ISON later this year in December. :D

LOL! Yeah I have always wanted to capture a meteor shower and such on film and I have tried before. Now I didn't try and didn't even know about this and I capture a nice size meteor on my dash cam of all things :) Don't worry your day will come where you will be in the right place at the right time. Just make sure you have a camera with you at all times even if its just your cell phone cam :)

That would be freaking crazy if it was, but its not. It was a meteor forsure. Many other witnesses and experts have already confirmed it.
What did you hear about it?
It most certainly was and has been documented by many other witnesses and experts. It's no Russian meteor but a meteor nonetheless.

Did you know you can report or research meteorite sightings? This site won't let me leave the web address but just google "report a meteor" or the "American Meteor Society".
