- So, i had a bit of an idea- a different version of the act 2 inscryption game, instead of you playing as the challenger to replace one of the scribes you train with each of the scribes to become another with them! with each of them you try out their form of inscryption, leshy's camera, Grimora's quill and so on. but the old data still exists and there are moments where this comes through. (also, my reasoning for there being different inscryption games is because of that one Luke video when the GameFuna lady knocks on his door, but it cuts to the exact same moment BUT! Luke's shirt is different. So possibly with the idea that the same things are taking place with small changes- what if there are different timelines with different games? also this could mean Luke is still alive?)

I can see this being an AU where the mass spread of the game effectively nullified the OLD_DATA since it's in so many pieces, still letting the scrybes be sentient in each copy, with them being able to interact with the player via text, and Game Funa uses it to reboot Inscyption using the fan Scrybes for new characters and card packs
Possibly, plus I have theorized on my own that if a character dies in the lore(Ie Luke or Kaycee) they get trapped in the game so then Kaycee and Luke could be turned into other characters(I.e. not under a scribe but doing their own thing like Rebecca and Mycologist)

This made me realize that the Scrybes were people before they became the Scrybes... what were their lives like before Leshy started using the camera, before PO3 cannibalized other robots for card parts?
Well the game says they get power by creating the cards, so they used the 4 card creating methods to gain leadership positions and control the society of their world
Realistically, probably nothing. These scrybes are part of a game, inscryption, and had no life before they were created. They would likely be nothing but code were if not for the old_data doing something which allowed them to have some real level of sentience.
And since inscryption was just a cover to hide the old_data they likely didn’t put very much thought into the story of all the different scrybes.

@@maxdunn4756 Since the Scrybes are from a card game with a decent amount of characters it's not difficult to assume there is some worldbuilding and story for the Scrybes even if it wasn't translated into the video game cover up. So, no the actual Old_Data A.I. characters likely have no background, but the card game characters likely do.

i love how po3 face looks at 2:09 its just really well made and i also like how magnificus looks like a tree i find that funny but otherwise this is a really good animation
for the face at 2:09 I had a very hard way to describe what I thought which was that he was tolerating the player or something like that it was a year ago.

A neat idea you have here, having you train up to become your own Scribe instead of fighting to replace one, and I feel like you convey how the scribes would react rather well based on the pictures alone
2:05 Leshy is someone who tells stories, and would rather do that then help train someone. He would most likely not enjoy helping us that much.
2:07 Grimora would be a great trainer. She has a motherly aura towards her and would gladly help us throughout a rut while making it rather fun.
2:10 I feel like P03 would actually enjoy teaching you. While looking past his smug attitude and him thinking he is the best, he would help us out in making really good strategies.
2:12 While I have the biggest feeling that Magnificus would just pull another BS impossible trial on you like his 3 "followers", I feel like he would actually do that if it weren't for the fact that he is forced to help you. He would do the bear minimum in order to help us and resent us all the while.
I feel like Leshy wouldn't be a good teacher in how to create cards but would be very good at teaching you how to play the game (He is the only one who explains how to actually use any of the cards)

@@Rashicora arguably po3 was a bigger arse, and magnificus would teach us a certain flair(his final duel with the player) I'd believe or just how to draw
P03 didn’t die because if he did die it would show a dark, black screen with no sign of life. But instead, it shows a red X on the screen. Plus, you can’t kill a computer by ripping the monitor off.
I think that was more than a monitor. In the end credits, we can see that it contained G0lly at least.
That was more to stop the upload, I think. Plus, if that didn't kill p03, the deletion would have.

Basically, P03 was able to Resume the Uploading, this way not making it get lost, and when it seemed like everything was deleted, he runs the upload again and by that Inscryption ends in stream
There’s more secrets and is more detailed what happened but you should watch a vid about that ARG
I've always liked the idea that Luke became the player, and that the game reset entirely.
Luke has to navigate the game all over again, and with this new concept, he could train with them, like the other player does here.
Maybe he becomes his own scrybe?
Interesting concept you got there, maybe the old data could effectively give us our own mean of creating cards as we become our own scribe. And with the different flashbacks of moments from the main game, those could either be premonitions or the old data could have been ported to a different disk, maybe that disk has a higher quality, perhaps Luke handed the disk back to the lady and they turned the karnoffel code to their corporate advantage. There’s a lot of possibilities to explore here, light the way of course, you came up with it.
I hate to burst your bubble but it's kinda obvious she fucking merced him. As well as he destroyed the floppy. Cause whatever the old data is, it's extremely fucked up and horrific.

I love how Po3 looks and acts in this, like he obviously still cares about the old data, but looks like he genuinely cares about the character.

With all the lore I can muster out of my head that I’ve collected. The Old-Data was a sort of, boost? To beat the Russians to the moon, through encrypted messages. The old data was an infinite database, something that could destroy or manipulate technology from the inside. Hence why it had so much redacted information. Because it wasn’t probably activated, hence the reasoning behind Gamefuna’s need for it. The Old-Data is a mix of evil and good in the right hands. PO3 Used it for power, as Leshy just used it to enjoy his game.
Bro your PO3 design makes me so happy, he’s so expressive and the little etching for the face like old computers would do
I just wanted to say that this is genuinely one of the most enjoyable animatics/animations I've seen. Your art style and slightly modified designs of the characters are so interesting to me! I really enjoy the concept of the main character or "us" I guess training to become a scrybe, it's just a really enjoyable concept to me I must say!

Man these kinds of animations for Inscription just makes me get emotional and more attached to the characters, resulting in me getting sad cuz of how the story ends.

This is gorgeous, the art style really inspired me! I usually create art that lacks a lot of vibrancy as I like using a more muted palate, so I can really appreciate the colours! The pops of colour in the Scrybe’s faces were complimented well :)

In the beginning the 4 prospectors lived in peace, but that all changed when the old data attacked.

The fact that mat pat covered this game and found out that there is a clip that is probably canon, of the upload of inscryption that was paused by the player, but then we see that the upload starts again and then you see the stoat in the screen of Luke’s computer and he proceeds to wink

Sometimes it's quite easy to see something that makes us so happy and forget that there's an actual person behind it who could hear those words. And it's occurred to me, a year and a half after I saw this video for the first time, that I never did tell you those words you deserve to hear.
I feel like a lot of people strive to make things that are memorable. Something that sticks in someone's mind so well that it fulfills a little part of them looking for joy. This has been that for me for the past year and a half. I loved this video so, SO much. The art is absolutely gorgeous, and the concept itself is incredible. Over the course of time, I've found myself daydreaming all about it, or perhaps just what's my own interpretation on what I'm seeing since I gggenuinely don't know if there's any extra information on this concept outside of this video+description. Regardless, I love this. This video is like a seed in my brain growing a plant of all the potential possibilities I can imagine. At some point, I even created a whole layer of worldbuilding to inscryption off of the possibilities I daydreamed, and it was so much fun to explore. It started branching off and off into differing variations, things changing from the original concept but still heavily connected to the video.
And hey! I just connected the dots. Time Woods. I recognize that name. I love your Magnus Archives art on Tumblr as well.
On multiple occasions, I've shown this video off to my friends. I've sent the link in a rush of joy, or I've shown off a screenshot that was making me especially happy. And even then, that was hard!! What part was I supposed to show off to my best friends when it was all so lovely? Even though I... had sent the video link multiple times already?? This was something that made me genuinely so giddy, and to this day, I watch this for that rush of happiness.
I regularly listen to The Woods now. It's one of my favourite songs, and I have no doubt that also has to do with my such vibrantly positive connotations with it.

Maybe her way of scribing would be 'coding reality' or something, so like she would code things in, and one day she dug too deep
