8:14 I actually really hope this ends up being the ultimate goal of prismatic. Make it so there are no subclasses but we still have access to all our abilities. That being said, if they end up doing this, I’d hope they would add some more synergy for using the same element across the board (i.e. all solar abilities means radiant gives 10% more damage than normal or solar weapons have intrinsic scorching rounds, all stasis gives the “hail the storm” perk from the current artifact as an intrinsic, all void gives overshields double health, etc.). That’s probably more of a D3 change but if that’s where we’re headed with prismatic, then I’m completely on board.

Much of the concern around "what comes next" comes from the idea that, like you said, prismatic should be one-upped, which is not necessarily true. D2 and other games with similar powercreep have survived for a long time on introducing things that are simply *different*, and not necessarily more powerful. A third darkness subclass on top of prismatic, for example, may not make more "powerful" builds, but it would definitely make more interesting ones -- more toys to play with. The cycle of changing metas, shifting weapons, new perks, different abilities, and challenging encounters to use all of that is the CORE of this game, NOT getting the most powerful gear and shredding bosses. It's the time inbetween that makes this game what it is. Change is good for this game. It always will be. This game dies when bungie stops changing things. I see all of this upcoming content as healthy, even if it's not the strongest thing we've ever seen.

So they decided to give us the early state and somewhat tested build of the new “sub class”. I believe this was going to be the ultimate selling point for D3 and then getting rid of subclasses and allowing freedom. That said, where do they go now….

I think after a decade of tapping in and bending Paracaysality to our will it may be time for our guardians to start controlling more grounded aspects. Air? Earth? Plant? Maybe start heading into Splicer territory? Or ritual magic? It's limitless. And having it all tie back into Prismatic would enhance everyone's play style.

Pretty simple really to step up the power Fantasy. This is what I think(Hope) they are probably gonna do to keep the power train going.
Step 1 - Cabal and Eliksni Guardians, or a reasonable equivalent(a return of Eliksni splicers as a playable new class for example) with unique variations of the hunter/warlock/titan kit specific to them(As an example, instead of a rift/arc soul, an eliksni guardian/splicer summons one of those baby Servitors you sometimes fight.)
Step 2 - unlock all abilities in all Light and Dark Sub Classes for Hunter/Warlock/Titan to mix and match in Prismatic, which I think is what they are going to do for Final Shape during it's Annual Pass, likely to be rolled out in bits and pieces during the seasonal/episodic structure they will be adopting for Final Shape to replace the current seasonal model. This gives them time to roll it out and test it in real time bit by bit.
Step 3 - Unlock all abilities for mixing and matching between all Main Classes and Sub classes in one Guardian - AKA Create your own class. No more Titan/Warlock Hunter, the classes will become ability trees that you can then mix and match. I think this will be the big change for Destiny 3 or something they will roll out in stages or in some kind of framework during D2's Final Shape annual Pass, maybe the last episode/season will finalize it and that will likely be the lead in to Destiny 3 in some way lore wise.
Step 4 - Given Steps 1 to 3 proceed as planned, have Exotic Class Items Become Exotic Accessories that can potentially roll any and all Exotic Armor abilities available across all 3 current main classes along with removing class restrictions for all current exotic armor. Maybe, Possibly they also increase the Armor class Exotic limit to 2 to let you have the accessory and an exotic armor piece of your choice.
None of the above would be massively difficult for Bungie, though would still entail quite a bit of work. What will be much harder, and would be the more impressive feat, is them figuring out a way to successfully scale the game so that when they overpower us to that extent the game retains some kind of challenge. Hopefully the Dredge aren't the last new enemy subfaction for a long time as it has been currently.

right right, here me out, a darkness subclass called vacuity, vacuity meaning essentially emptiness, specifically of the mind ( darkness is tied to the mind, light to the body), and it is the inverse of prismatic. instead of having a bunch of different abilities from our other subclasses with their own elements, what about a subclass with no real element? So you would for instance have say a bunch of preset grenades for example, like a tripmine a wall and a sticky, but none of them have an element. Instead, you decide what element you want them to be. Instead of prismatic, which is a jack of all trades that you build around, Vacuity is a wildcard that builds around you and what you want it to do. it simultaneously has synergy with everything and nothing at once. From a lore standpoint, darkness is about having mastery over control, so as our darkness mastery class, the antithesis to prismatic, what better than having absolute control over the elements? Do give me any feedback you have on the idea though, as i thought of it during this video and havent really thought about it and would love to hear what yall think

  • @Mrbeara425
    @Mrbeara425 20 дней назад

Hey azte. Hear me out. (I theorize quite a lot) i think the 3 light subclasses are definitive. But we only have 2 dark classes. 1 combined class. They are most likely giving us a new subclass after the episodes(dlc) or potentionally that's what the episodes are . But getting 3 light, 3 dark, 1 prismatic. That will finalize what guardians are capable of doing ( hence all the promotion with "what is a guardian" ) and then destiny 3, if anything, will reply to that question. Decoupling power systems first was their mission since beyond light and since the direction is clear, it's not that far fetch to peer a little bit into the most realistic moves that they will do. Decoupling subclasses and strengthening subclasses was destiny 2's goal and prismatic is doing two things, concluding on that very goal with a victory lap (since prismatic looks amazing) and introducing the open possibilities to Decoupling class limits which destiny 3 has been pointing towards. Making the overall player experience stronger and better and allowing freedom ( which the team has expressed they wanted destiny to be better, 3 is payback to the franchise itself, wanting it to reflect the original vision.) But the original vision is where my theorizing has the biggest mystery. Is this gonna be before losing original story and direction or after. Because the original vision they expressed was meant since destiny 1, destiny 2 was the best chance to address and fix everything but destiny 2 became a labor than project. But reaching the end of destiny 2 means the team spent all that time creating what's beyond the final shape. We won't know till they reveal more. But destiny 2 is definitely going to get a massive overhaul going into destiny 3 and the story most likely has been Shaping this entire time in the lore so either way. Let's see what bungie will show off soon !!!

I can see new subclasses being added but in a different way. Whereas prismatic is meant to be the curated jack of all trades, I can see bungie adding another darkness subclass element (even out the 3 light and 3 darkness) but also being able to only combine only two elements together but you get access to more of each subclasses powers, meaning you have a more powerful subclass at that point (for example, a solar and stasis subclass that allows you to use well alongside another of the solar aspects with another stasis aspect). The other option, which was leaked as primarily being for d3, is a fluid class system in the future where hunters, titans, and warlocks don't exist and you are able to use any ability from any class, with bungie basically just needing to create ability packets essentially every once in a while to spice things up (i.e. new solar abilities, new void, etc.).

I think something else that could be cool is if we got more Light and Dark supers. Like maybe we get Lucent Hive variant supers. Or new Strand and Stasis and the 3rd darkness subclasses supers. Hell even just like new charged melee or grenade options would be awesome. There’s so many routes we can go. But I think adding it all to Prismatic over time should be the goal and then keep introducing new perks to the class item loot pool.

When we first saw it we thought it was wilder than anything else, now people think its more limited. I’m sure it will come out and have a few surprises - new subclasses always do!

Some classes still need a 3rd Super (Sunbreakers, Strikers, Stormcallers), Darkness subclasses need a 2nd Super and Light subclasses need a 4th Aspect.
Way down the line, they can maybe add *Artifact* weapons with Prismatic for even more customization. So Titans can fulfill their Thor fantasy with Arc hammers, a dark knight-esque Void Sentinel with a big maul, or a Sunbreaker with a blazing shield.

I do think spirit of foetracer and Caliban is going to be a wicked combo with GPG. You could theoretically get a damage boost for 3 x4 surge buffs

They could do a class mastery or hyper specialization to make base elements more appealing, maybe like a one element Transcendence. You build a solar meter and after so many solar kills you get solar Ascendance where you get improved solar damage and abilities. To expand on Prismatic, they could make more Prismatic grenades then add in Prismatic melees and Prismatic supers. Imagine a Novabomb that spawns threadlings, or a shoulder charge that emits a slowing and scorching blast.

If bungy comes out with D3 and has space ship bates I hope that you could have it so your subclass power could be focused through the ship and be able to customize the ship for the subclass.

I’m just hoping that they continue to add new aspects for all subclasses, especially the darkness ones with new supers cuz winters wraith doesn’t cut it in pve

i see this as them buying time.. with reissuing sun set weapons and now an entire subclass or reissued/repurposed abilities everything will slowly get added into prismatic before it all becomes one
at that point they will add a final new subclass that is pure darkness and fully counters are prismatic abilities as they become 2 sides of the same coin.. the pink and red subclasses
the red subclass is im rubber your glue anything you throw at it can be thrown back 10 fold its all about stealing and parrying and it have massive synergy with stasis and strand due to them being from the dark

You can one up prismatic. Make a new subclass that's as strong or stronger than the best prismatic builds, and make it sound and look really cool. Add a few of its things to prismatic, just like how they're doing it with all the previous subclasses. It'll be easier and more straightforward to make a build with a single subclass and it'll have more ways to trigger and utilize its specific verbs than in prismatic. This gives a valid reason to use the new subclass without prismatic. Before a new subclass I think they should add a new super for every subclass besides the one's we're about to get, along with new fragments and aspects first, and open up prismatic's options slowly.

I feel it we a gateway to D3 like a test to have just everything in one so you can mix and match everything in the next game so that way if they do add a new subclass you can still mix it with everything

I think itll end up being more of a transition through the story, you start destiny 2 as a new player and unlock all the light subclasses. Then you transition into using stasis and then strand and learning and unlocking those pwers. Then in the finake of that story you unlock the ability to merge everything together and weiod both, as a veteran player it seems like hella power creep but from a new player perspective it kets then learn all the subclasses as they travel through the story and end of by combining all their knowledge into a super powered class

I feel like a 6th mono-element subclass (a 3rd Darkness element) could still easily be added to the game. When they do, they would also just pick a suite of abilities to add to Prismatic and leave the rest alone.

Prismatic feels like end game content.
We went from 3 to 5 subclasses. The natural progression would be a 6th, but instead we get a combination of the 5 we already have.
This move feels like they're letting off the throttle and looking to put their energy into another version or D2 of another game entirely.
