Nice video. I have the Rega Planar 6 and the Ania MC cartridge and listen to it through a Vincent 701 phono preamp. The sound is stunning. I truly don't feel the need to spend so much more for the next step in turntables and cartridges to hear a subtle difference in sound. My cash was better spent on the wonderful components and speakers the Vincent is plugged into.
Love my P8. Big upgrade over my old Music Hall 5.1SE.
Great to hear you're enjoying it. Did you consider any other tables in this price range? Or is the P8 the best sounding in that price bracket? I'm trying to decide on a new table myself to any advice would be appreciated

I grew up in hifi with Regas in the 90s. Moved "up" to an LP12, and then I thought I'd attained the summit or turntable hierarchies with an SME 20/3 10 years ago. Ended up hating the thing. I now have a Rega 8, and it's an incredible deck for the money.
When you get to the latter levels, if you have anything but a perfectly flat, dustless and scratchless piece of vinyl, you’re not getting much more sonic quality. Also think of it this way, for the price of a 10, you could get 3 of the 6’s or 1 ‘8’ plus 1 ‘6’!!!
All good points, Jim - what Rega has done is leverage its decades-long knowledge in Analog and parsed it into packages that benefit all music lovers - as you noted, there are models that are for budget minded folk that can still pull the good stuff off the wax, then there are models that go above and beyond expectations like the P10, but may be out of reach to some. Bonjour, J'ai une Rega Planar 6 depuis le début de l'année. J'ai un souci avec la courroie EBLT REFERENCE. Avec cette courroie, j'ai un grincement au démarrage (au lancement du plateau) comme si la courroie patinait un petit peu; à vitesse stabilisée, je n'ai plus de bruit. Il en va de même quand j'installe cette courroie sur mon ancienne platine P3. Par contre, avec la courroie blanche (Rega Upgrade), je n'ai pas de bruit au démarrage aussi bien sur la P6 que la P3. Ma question est la suivante: Est ce normal d'avoir un bruit de "grincement" au lancement du plateau avec la courroie Référence ou est ce que cette courroie est défectueuse. je suis peut être tombé sur une mauvaise série? . L'EBLT de la Rega a une composition plus dense que sa version précédente, il n'est donc pas surprenant que vous ayez affaire à un problème de frottement (grincements au démarrage) - c'est normal - MAIS - vous auriez dû commander l'EBLT avancé, car il est conçu pour le P6. - Ambassadeur de la marque Bes NIEVERA/Music Direct
