I have one and upgraded the ram (previous 8 GB now 16), changed the HDD into an SSD Sata 2 TB and upgraded the screen to a 1080p one. Honestly, I have an ACER Nitro 5 and I can't stop using my T460 hahaha I'm considering getting a dockstation for it.
I bought one online (refurbished) from best buy just few minutes ago after watching your video. I plan on using this machine as my main entertainment source in my home gym connected to a TV via HDMI. Just google drive, and youtube or netflix etc are just the few apps im thinking of running this for. This machine should be enough, right? Thanks for the great review btw!
You'll need a laptop with a dedicated GPU or a PC to play that game. I wouldn't expect to run it on this CPU's integrated graphics. System requirements are easy enough to find, especially if you already purchased the game on a platform like Steam. Processor: Intel Core i5-6400 or AMD Ryzen 3 1200 or similar Memory: 8 GB RAM Graphics: NVIDIA GeForce GTX 660 or AMD Radeon RX 460 or Intel HD 630 (2GB VRAM) Hard Drive: 25 GB available space (Euro Truck Simulator 2 base game)
You can still install windows 11 if you like by bypassing the TPM 2.0 requirement, check out this guide: www.thewindowsclub.com/bypass-tpm-and-secure-boot-indows-11-rufus
@@HaisteComputerRepair I thought the cpu also isn't supported? Also I've heard these bypasses can cause issues later on with the computer or OS that are unforeseen.
@@blueviserion That is true it is not on the official Windows 11 list. There will not be official driver support for Windows 11 in some cases, for some hardware. But, it still might be just fine. I had it running fine on a ThinkPad T530 last year. I'd say try it out if you want to. Just remember to do basic maintenance like backing up what's important.
@@HaisteComputerRepair Thanks I'll think about it. I may just pay for the annual security updates for Windows 10 rather than take any chances. I think for personal use computers, the fee Microsoft is charging is going to be very small.
@@blueviserion I am glad they are extending support, I think the price is reasonable for the end user. I could come up with a list of reasons for critique, but whatever. I say this because the last time I actually paid for a Windows OS was back when I purchased a Windows XP disc. I have essentially being using it for free ever since.
t480 will keep you future proofed for a bit longer but i ended up buying a t460 due to the super low price. whatever you value most, t480 is overall much better

I have been waiting for this video, thanks a lot😊
Thanks Tyler for another great Thinkpad video. The go-to guy for these kinds of videos for me.
:)
love the review man, very important pictures indeed

A docking station will really make it a Cadillac.

I think you will be good to go. Have fun!
Such a chill review, thanks. I am thinking of buying a refurbished one for 259 bucks. Think its worth it?
Thanks! Is that in USD or CAD?
I have this laptop and I have windows 11 on it and I can’t even play games such as ets 2 because it drags a lot 😢 and sometimes freezes

I have tried to install need for speed 2012 and installed correctly but the game keeps on crashing on opening it
Which one is better T460 touchscreen or without touchscreen ??
Well it really depends on if you want to use a touchscreen ;)
Hey can I ask how to change the GPU? Can I also install Ubuntu Linux on it? Thank you!!
How it is for Study ?? Battery problem or something
I want buy refurbished so???
It would be good, just make sure you ask from the person you are buying from as to how good the battery is
Can you play valo leauge of legend something like that?
I imagine LOL would be fine and maybe Valorant on lowest settings and lowered resolution.
CS2? I plan to upgrade but I don't know I'm 15 and broke 💀😂@@HaisteComputerRepair

Can it play Warframe smoothly?
Yep, I believe you would be fine.

Does it support casting
Via bluetooth, it should. Assuming you mean to a smart TV
Yes casting on a smart tv
Because I have tried it and it tells me to use cable that it does support the other method

It would run
