The X Maxx is very well designed for maintenance and working on! Once you take things apart and learn the system its actually easy and fun. Makes maintaining it for peak performance a lot more easier!

Pin system on the chassis read what gear your running an bam that easy unless you run Robison racing hares steel you can't use the pin system have to go old school
I'm guessing this is on the original X-Maxx 6S? I still have my original X-Maxx I bought when they first got released and I've never even serviced it one time because I hardly ever drove it! Basically a 🆕 X-Maxx just wanna service the diff fill them up with silicone fluid & grease the outside. Looks easy & fun! Plus I have my drills ready to go so I could take this apart easily. I'm use to the slash, this seems like a similar setup just a few more 🪛 thanks for the video!
Hello I've got the front half off my xmaxx now I have all the screws that I forgot where they all go . Can you please tell me what the measurement of the screws that you took out in MM'S Thanks for your help and support
I bought mine last week I've been going back and forth with them my wheelie bar was broken in the box when I opened it and I finally got it opened up and was so pumped to drive it as I'm only home on the weekend and the gear mesh is so tight a piece of paper totally locks it up no matter what I do it won't change either traxxas is saying it's the rear bulkhead I sent them a super long email yesterday hoping they will let me send it to them and have them fix it tell you what spending almost 1000 bucks on a truck I've wanted for several years finally get it and I am too scared to even try and run it for fear of destroying it isn't fun and they want to send me a rear bulkhead so I can fix a truck I haven't even put batteries in yet they seem like good people when I've called but man I'm just really disappointed so far in the quality hoping it gets resolved somehow
@@freddygalindo6722 Remove the rear module, then split the shock towers, remove hinge pins, remove the gear cover for the spur gear and shaft, remove the upper bulkhead and you are done. 👍
Its all well and good untill the screw holes get full of dirt or god forbid you strip a screw. If you cant get the modules off you cant service the center diff and those output gears wear out pretty quick
Hole full of dirt, blast it with the hose then dry it off with an air compressor. Stripped bolt, use a bolt extractor or drill the head off it. If you crack a chassis or bulkhead in the process theyre $15-20 worst case
I put safety wire around the outside of the tire to prevent them from stretching out and sealed the holes in the rim. Works amazing. To get the water out first I got two large metal hose clams the type you screw tight. Placed a towel around tire to keep from cutting into rubber then winched the two whose clamps down around the outside of the tire. Amazing how much water they hold.
Melt 4 holes in each tire. Space them out 90 degrees apart. I used my soldering iron with a nail instead of the iron tip. Melting helps keep the holes from spreading, opposed to cutting or drilling. Water will sling out as you drive.
Either seal up the breather holes in the rims to prevent water from getting in there or don't drive in the water...water messes up your car bad. I did it once and it's just not worth the cost...I did try the hole drilling in the tires to evacuate water...the problem is that the water i drove thru was 50% mud, which also made it into the tires and even after they where completely dried out where still out of balance and one of the even blew apart...I stay away from water
Is there a reason why traxxas put such a horrible servo in these things? Almost every comment i see is about stripping the servo first time out my self included what gives?

Not the new ones. What about the wires to the motor?
@@jamesknight5984how are the new ones less easy?
Thanks Traxxas, The X-Max is the baddest truck on the planet!
40 foot jumps done my driveshaft in but DAMN it was fun and looked good doing it.
Please do a video on how the gear mesh works . Thanks

Is this for an older xmaxx? Cause you have to remove more than two screws on the bottom to remove the rear

Yup, second time i do this because the center driveshaft bends like crazy
I got about five minutes of run time on my new Xmaxx before the steering servo went bad. Not happy!
I had the exact same problem with my servo. It’s a shame.
Same here completely unacceptable let alone for $1000
Do you need to remove the front to remove the rear??? Mine will not come off
U shouldn't have to
Great video!
Xmaxx is so easy to work on!!!! 👍👍
broke chassis first time out on 6s turned down at esc to 50% power not the sturdy truck i hoped it would be

@@andyvannort2743 I was gonna replace the bulkhead anyhow, wond up drilling the bolt out. then put in a hot racing locked diff. It does pretty good.
Please!!! Come up with a way to remove water from the tires! I need to know! Pls reply with an answer anyone

Cool
Rover me thiZ technology when is retta coming. Cause I either need $0.00 or better
I’m pretty Sure that %95 percent of xmaxx owners are spoiled 9 year olds that know nothing about RC whatsoever
50 screws to undo and a bunch of pins is hardly modular 😂
Yea that's a lot
