Yeah let's shaft Canadians with high prices and uncompetitive products so "local businesses" can sell us crap. This is bs. If you can compete you shouldn't rely on the government

      Tell this to Chinese manufacturers

@@TveTop if the Chinese government wants to subsidize lower prices for us you don't want that? You want to pay more for goods that are also made by a foreign owned company but have the veneer of being local? Look at the Brazilian auto industry in the 70s to 90s to see what happens what happens with protectionism

@@jchong416 no I do not want that. Because where it ends is subsidized Chinese manufacturers will kill the local manufacturers and guess what will happen next, they will raise the price in a no competition market. This is not generic protectionism , they just level the field for Chinese. We do not have such tariffs for other countries that have fair rules like Europe that lets the competition work.

@@jchong416 you paying more argument is weak. My experience with Chinese designed and maintained products is not indicative of them being cheaper. While upfront it might be cheaper long term they are more expensive as the parts are not available and they break faster. So it becomes unfixable garbage quickly and costs more money and time to fix.

@@TveTop really? You know China makes the iPhone and anything of substance you buy save for autos. You just choose to buy the cheaply produced goods. China makes the cheapest to the best and everything inbetween. Nobody can match their manufacturing prowess at any price point save for a few speciality items. Chinese EVs are the best in the world and better than anything made by US or European manufacturers. Only tesla can compete
