  • Mountain Elgon, the oldest extinct volcano in east Africa rising above the boundary between Uganda and Kenya.
    A mountain of illusions hosting the world’s largest mountain caldera and a host of rear animals found only here in the cradle of mankind.
    This is mountain Elgon national park the land of 1000 water falls.
    Every year this mountainous national park receives over 5000 Visitors’ majority of whom come to discover its 40 sq. km caldera the biggest, in the whole world.
    It was named after mountain Elgon, an extinct shield volcano which first erupted more than 24 million years ago leaving behind the largest surface area of any extinct volcano in the world.
    The park is located in the eastern part of Uganda approximately 20 km from Mbale city the biggest city in Bugisu sub region.
