I enjoyed the video on malewa/bamboo shoots. I have never heard anyone calling it maleya. I know malewa is correct because Mrs. Naomi Aryada who introduced it to my family calls Mbale home. Malewa cooked in gnuts sauce tastes like dried mushrooms, just as yummy.
I thought eastern ug eat like kenyans,,,i mean posho and sukuma,,,i had ogz thoz guys like posho like men and told us they're on boarders with kenya that's y they like eating ugali( posho) and greens,,,,,, am happy seeing matooke there
Beautiful video...but the guy narrating is making alot of ignorant comments...not sure if he remembers that this is an international channel..the one with glasses...and he keeps speaking over you
@@EatingTheAfricanWay I promise you the minute I’m back imma hit you up coz you seem to know all the food spots and food is the major reason I’m coming home❤️❤️😌
UWA must allow indigenous to continue to harvest as they have done for decades. We have lived in harmony with wildlife without adversely affecting game and biodiversity. There must be a balance in preserving our cultural practices. Happy to see you in Mbale, mulembe!! Naye otusaliza emere 😂
This time I can decide with UWA because first time I was to mbale...it kamaleyaa was facing extinction......so the law is trying to preserve it.... Mulayii mulayii....🤣🤣 On you behalf I enjoy the foods...

Are you sure they are talking about Bamboo? It is an Asian Bush. Strange to see it integrated to African cuisine
Yes it's bamboo.....and it's a staple food...
There are bamboo species native to the African tropics, different ones than Asia. There are even some North American bamboo species.
