When I was 14 back in 83 I had a brand new one. Bought it for $350. They came in blue, red and yellow. Total freedom of the road for a kid a few years from getting his first car. Of course bone stock, mine wouldn’t do 30 unless I was going downhill. I could drive all over town for about a buck in gas. Great vid!
Great job on the resto/mods :) I have two of these sitting in my garage in stock config and I have been pondering what to do with them. Thanks for the inspiriation!
All his Mods didn't help much, My fa50 Shuttle does 28 mph completely stock with my 210 lb fat ass on it. For every bike that gets hacked up, mine increases in value. Bottom line.....the fa50 Shuttle is what it is.....a fun little around town Putt-Putt, not a race bike. Stop trying to make it into one, sell it and get a Grom already.
I think its bark is worse than its bite :) Nice little build! I have a yamaha crypton (recently bought) which I use to commute around Johannesburg, South Africa. In some ways I enjoy it more than my big Suzuki dr650se. I often feel like I'm riding the mountainbike when I'm on the little Crypton.
I found this on a website about this car so pasted it here:- 'While rummaging through the wares on offer at an estate sale, Bobby Goins, a "picker" in Grand Blanc, Michigan, found the car pictured above: a 1952 Ferrari 212 Inter Ghia Cabriolet. Hidden under a tarp and lots of detritus in a garage, once it was revealed Goins discovered that the car was almost completely intact. The only thing missing was the engine, and that was found in Wisconsin not long after the discovery of the car. Without a serial number, it's difficult to place this car exactly, even though the 212 Inter was only made for three years. It came early in Ferrari's move to production cars, but was one of the most numerous models with the widest variety of bodystyles - no less than eight coachbuilders contributed designs and variations on those designs. For instance, this one has a Ghia grille used on another body, but a different hood treatment. No matter, it's been rescued from oblivion and sold to a good home: it was bought by a Ferrari collector for just $150,000.'
Hey I just got one of this; same color and everything. It was running fine yesterday, but I left the lights on over night and it will start but it'll turn off right away. Any suggestions on what it might be?
If you still have it, try adapting a 50-70cc scooter cylinder. Just make an adaptor. Fit a bigger reed valve.... adapt one from a Honda Dio or minarelli vertical. £25 eBay! Listed as a kit for motorized bicycle! Then a pwk24-30mm copy carb -£25!
How did you set up your air filter? My buddy nocked mine abit and it shredded the rubber angled tube. I've looked on websites and its crazy expensive for just this angled rubber tubing if you can tell me where you got your setup I'll most likely just purchased one like yours..../
For god's sake do some reading about 2 stroke exhaust principles. You need a cone and counter cone, the gas resonates with positive and negative pulses. The returning pulse needs to flow along the header at the right time to prevent charge leaving the cylinder your header has too much of a step up. Back pressure has nothing to do with it. Btw the negative pulse pulls charge out scavenging the cylinder and drawing charge through transfers, the positive pulse pushes lost charge back in, simply put. Watch a video. See 2stroke stuffing. For a cheap option try a second hand mini Moto exhaust from a blata b1 replica.
Stock carb? I'm getting ready to install the 59cc big bore top end and mlm pipe. Curious about installing a bigger carb and intake. Please share your knowledge! Awesome ride btw. Mines an 85
Nice. It's the stock carb which does limit my performance. I'd recommend a bigger carb or at least bigger main jetting as the stock configuration won't deliver enough fuel at full throttle.
All your Mods didn't help much, My FA-50 Shuttle does 28 mph completely stock with all it's factory street legal equipment intact and mod free with my 210 lb fat ass on it (it's factory rated for a 180 lb rider max. , So if I was 180 or less it might do 30-35 stock). For every bike that gets hacked up like this, mine increases in value. Bottom line.....the FA-50 Shuttle is what it is.....a fun little around town, head turning Putt-Putt, not a race bike. Stop trying to make it into one, sell it and get a Grom already.

Do you remember where you found those tires at? Love the look of em!
Any idea if those NR-77 tires would fit under the stock fenders?

Thanks. I got them at bikebandit dot commie. Sort of hard to find cool tires in that size. I used "front" tires for both front and back.
So you remove the head gasket and milk the cylinder head? And leave gasket off?
Where did you get that seat cover??? Its Pimp!!!
cool,thanks bro.
witch air filter did you put on there, and how much mm is it?
