A Tagore Song in English, by a Bengali Singer I do not know . Beautifully done. Thank you for those of us, who are NRI, and we remember Tagore, but live among people who have no knowledge of Tagore ! A challange to share this heritage left behind by Tagore in future. Appreciating.
Beautiful voice with quality tune, sometimes touches listeners' heart, really inscrutable. The famous song's English version really astonished me, I had been trying with my even harsh voice the tun, tune and emotions of hon'ble singer's voice, even dare to sing in some places where we get together, and singer's voice had been made heard, all are highly vocal of the singer, pl keep on
Old times' tale - how could they be forgotten? Lived through our eyes, Words spurting from our hearts - sweet memories Come once again ... to the embrace of the soul, Sharing joys and woes, gratifying our hearts. We gathered flowers in the dawn, swayed on the swing, We sang songs and played the flute beneath the bokul tree Alas we parted then, who knows where we went... Now that we meet again, friends, let's
As the feels of by gone time Take you down to memory lane Blissful sights and joyful songs In your mind remain Oh come my sweet heart come once again Come into my soul We shall share our love our joys and sorrows Trying to base console We have plucked the flower in morning hour Very little did we swing Beneath the cherry lowing apart Many our songs did ring We have parted ways know not when Did we dream that part As we happen to meet Again sweet Come into my heart
beautiful intonation, Wonderful naturalness, cute dedication, wonder in Wonderful memory lane, you are natural with any language keep up your concept music is UNIVERSAL And It tunes with EMOTIONAL area universally unique always
Good effort! Just to state that this song has its genesis in a 200 year old Scottish folk song . The Scottish folk song was written, re written and adapted around the world including in English. While this is very Indianised and sweet, you may also like to listen to the English adapted Version
The ethos of the original song is so carefully maintaied all through the song. Who wrote the English lyrics? I thank him. I thank the singer all thr more.
Please read my comment ❤❤ Thanks you very much ❤❤❤❤❤❤ how can I thank you for the song 🎵 😊 ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤ you are also soooooooooooooooooo sweet as your voice 😊 ❤❤❤❤ toooooooooooooooooooooooooo nice voice ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤.........😊
Really very appreciable initiative. You have really a powerful as well as a melodious voice. Regarding pronunciation you are right that in British accent Tagore Song can have the original like flavour, which cannot be possible in American accent. But one thing I want to add considering the melody & the thought of this song the Mridang/Khol shouldn't be very loud. Otherwise it was too good...:) Best Wishes for you.
@shreyashi, Thanks a lot for your reaction as it has reminded me about this song by you, and after long 4 years again I've come back & listened to this sweet piece of melody by the sweet but powerful voice of yours...😌
Thank you so much for your reply...I am absolutely humbled by your words 🙏...in this album not everything is PERFECT and that wasn't my goal...this song is a perfect example...music director Acharya Sanjay Chakrabarty composed the music and he was given complete freedom doing so .... while singing I had to adjust my mindset and singing style to make the transition from Bengali to English as smooth as possible ... interpretation of art is subjective and it is ultimately an aquired taste. Your valuable feedback is greatly appreciated.
This song is taken from scottish song which Rabindranath translated and put some changes . Original song is called "auld lang syne". Thats why it has british scottish style
How could we forget about the days of old alas, the gaze of eyes, the heart to heart, how can we let it pass. For one more time my dear friend enter my heart, we'll speak of joys and sorrows to enter our hearts. We gathered flowers in the morn we swung upon a swing, we played a flute and sang along beneath the flowering. Along the way we parted and we went to different parts, if we should meet again dear friend, let's meet in our hearts.
i love the idea behind this. much appreciate it; keep making more like these. The thing is, it just doesnt sound as good; but i guess we will need robindronath to make it sound good in another language.
The original song is Auld lang syne written by Robert burns in 18th century...it has been adopted in many languages...and as fas as the english version goes.. theres one version from the Movie Waterloo bridge released in 1940
She has a very nice voice with which she would much better with the original Bengali song by Gurudev. This is just like the failed attempts by the legend Debabrata Biswas recording a handful of Rabindrasangeet translated into English. In all of these cases, you need a native English speaker sing these English versions. Sorry not to be positive. Dr. Ajit Thakur (USA).
everything is wonderful..excellent translation..,but somehow missing the flavour of the song.. may be its due to the background music arrangement is not appropriate..
Mridul Kanti Chattopadhyay Mohashoy Rendezvous With Tagore album was released by Raga Music and then CEO of the company gave me permission to use these songs in my private RUclips channel. But I cannot monetize because of that. With Mr. Shamba Dutta I collaboratively wrote these lyrics ....and there was another writer involved in this project .... I would ask you to kindly buy an original copy of the cd so that you understand that the intellectual property copyright law has been respectfully abided by. Thank you for your concern. In the song video to avoid further complexity the film maker did not include the NAMES of the song writers .... and there is ABSOLUTE TRANSPARENCY about this whole issue till you pointed this out. 🙏
Respected Madam, with true respect and honour, I would like to submit that out of inquisitiveness, I wanted to know the lyric 's composer only, I desire to hear your song, I am find of your English version od Rabindra sangeet, for several times, I have had heard 'Aguner paras moni... in your voice, and made many person to hear, I never asked in the perspective you r honour have mentioned, jut out of curiosity, I have asked, I have listened the same song but the words were some different , your voice has an universal appeal, that's why, I wanted to be informed, there is no other motive, however, I express my sincere respect once again to you.

Perhaps it is not Tagore's translation, it is requested to highlight.
