When I first heard of this OST from Fate/Extella Link, I just had to make an extended version of it. Image used: www.zerochan.n... Game: Fate/Extella Link
Cutscene-wise, props to Charlie for having the guts to use Joyuese Odre to try to stalemate Karna's Vasavi Shakti. Normally, anyone who's not equal or greater to Karna, would lose the trade-off and perish upon being struck. Charlie had the extreme luck of actually doing well in defending it by using his own Noble Phantasm at full power to slow his opponent's NP's advance and surviving the EX-Rank Anti-God Noble Phantasm when it struck him (Karna was getting a massive mana boost from the city's power). Then we have the long awaited Noble Phantasm clash between Arjuna's Pashupata and Karna's Vasavi Shakti with both giving their all to lay waste to their opponent.
You forget to mention Charle unique skill which makes him more powerful the more badass he is. My boy is literally powered by the rule of cool and I love it.
@@omegacloud99 It wouldn't have mattered so much because as Arjuna, Charle himself, and Hakuno note, Karna is vastly stronger than he usually is due to Karl backing him up and providing nearly 'infinite' mana and that Karna has nothing holding back his power. Charle went all out to try to stalemate against Karna and survived Vasavi Shakti when it proved superior (he took it head-on without dodging). Arjuna could only stalemate to the death with Charle's help. Karna in this situation is basically like his *Apocrypha* version and what Gilgamesh would be if he stopped holding back and went all-out.
bitrel07 nah. The one who's actually providing mana isn't Karl. It's Gilgamesh. Gilgamesh, just for the sake of trolling the Moon Cell and cause a havoc (for his own amusement) decided to offer himself as the mana source for Karl's forces and servants. In the third route, when Archimedes points this out and you free Gilgamesh from his (voluntary) confinement, he is as fresh as usual and he just flies away summoning Vimana, laughing at both you and Karl and saying he had enough fun and he will let you clean the disaster you left (lmao). After this, Karl's power greatly diminished (and all of his servants resented it, Karna included), and Karl himself mentions that he was glad that the King of Heroes left, as he didn't want to deal with a power that he can't deal with. Karl had Karna fully controlled, yet he was openly afraid of Gilgamesh. So nah, Extella Link really shows how the King of Heroes is above ALL servants, and for that same reason he loves trolling and making fun of everyone.
@Neil Mordechai Why are you even saying this in the first place? It's starting bug me over time whenever I see you on vids and you start saying this when it has zero relevance to anything being said in the comment chain. More or less this is the second time I've seen you say this on a comment I originally posted.
Official English name of track is ‘Blood Battle on the Moon Cell’ as per the Switch release. Dem I’m quite a sucker for guitar riffs with the choir in the background.
Lancelot seems like a joke. He loves shapeshifting into shadow servants and kidnapping people. Gilles just summons squid to attack the master directly. Darius and Iskander is just plain annoying with their armies. But the most annoying stuff of all The stupid plants.
Might be alone in this, but I actually preferred the more annoying plants in the first Extella, as well as the victory point system. The constant invasions, and the fact you could lose some of the late game battles from a single sector loss made for much more tense gameplay. That said the other gameplay changes are quite welcome, especially your allies actually being useful now, and the greater versatility of skills.
I Finally found this and I need this game so bad because it looks enjoyable. I really hope Charlemagne gets to be in FGO , maybe white day banner 2020 Edit in 2022: GUYS I GOT HIM ALONG WITH ROLAND BEST DAY EVER!!
That Day 2 battle against Lu Bu as boss and this music kicked in... Thought this is his personal theme since this is so Lu Bu's Dinasty Warriors-y! That riff in 2:44 - 2:54 is practically a remix of his theme lmao
extella link improved a lot from extella and the franchise (fate EX) was quite underrated in the fandom i think. fate with musou style wasn't a bad idea after all.
I mean as someone tha played this game to completion it has the best game play of Fate games but lacks a lot in the story compartment, it is not bad but it has to contend with things like Extra original story, CCC cheerfulness, GO Epic feel and characters and the like. One of its major flaws in it's writing was the fact that they planned the game as a medium entry and not as it's own great arc, due to that we do not have resolutions to the Monolith nor are we able to have an explanation of what happened that made Karl appear. Also the first route had the better scene in the whole game that only can be sort of equalled by the final confrontation. Arjuna VS Karna is a fan favorite battle and one does not just throw that in the first route without having something better in the next ones. If I had to fix the story I would have made Extella Link its own arc, answered what is the Monolith and have more meaningful battles, Sca VS Cu is good but it was played as just another one, I would use characters in a more meaningful way for example a one on one battle against Lancelot and I would also make Arondight be his NP instead of the gods dammed plane. Karna VS Arjuna would be something that you see in the second route before you even now that a third Route exists so that you can be hyped but it is not too early so that you have to do things that are way over the top. Lastly I would make things have a bigger relation with other Fate products to give a better feel of connection, only a few things like a nod to the incineration of Humanity and a GO only servant like Lostbelt Ivan or a Jalter, those are fan favorites and have great story telling potential with Jalter being a foil to Charlemagne and Ivan to Karl. It may even be the place were whe learn from where did Ivan get it's dammed Mammut.
Unless you're Scathach, Ozymandias, or Enkidu.... :P I didn't list Karna since Chains of Heaven would be Game Over for him if he got caught by it. Also worth noting that Gil and Ozy actually like each other!
@@LordRixuel I can't remember off the top of my head where exactly that was mentioned, but from what I do remember, it's a scenario where Gil sees Ozy as a sort of slightly-less-awesome-than-me "little brother" (it's also worth noting that Ozy holds no ill will towards Moses, and would like nothing more than to someday reconcile with him), and if not for Gil's preexisting friendship with Enkidu, Ozy would have a very good chance of filling that particular role for Gil. If you think about it, the two actually have very similar personalities, and this may be why the two get along.
@@THEBULLETPROOFKINGDOM Yeah Beryl is extremely generous lol. And the story is also 38 chapters long though full story with be next moth. Jp players are having a blast.
Just imagine if, as part of an FGO epilogue, we see a scene of Charlemagne returning to SERAPH. Perhaps Hakuno('s silhouette) is crying but then an "unknown" speaker starts talking "Hey, what're you doing there, wearing such a gloomy face... it's depressing. C'mon, on your feet, chin up! And show me an awesome smile!" And then we get scene from Hakuno's perspective, showing Charlemagne extending his hand with a blinding smile on his face. And then we hear a voice line. "I told you that you'd see me again, didn't I?" I think that wpuld be a nice interlude to add when part 2 is over and Fujimaru Ritsuka retires or something, to see Charlie actually keep his promise to Hakuno... actually, it would be nice if all the Servants got something like that. Something showing them getting something they've wanted or getting some closure on their story.
@@MrThecrazyzombie because Charlie's in FGO, he was sent by the Mooncell to FGO's timeline. So I think that would be a nice teaser for another EXTELLA, and it just makes sense to me. Plus... I'm mortified that making a new EXTELLA would mean another gacha...

You can really tell that Keiichi Okabe worked on this OST. This sounds straight out of Drakengard 3 but even more anime. Love this song
Zero as a summonable servant would be kinda cool honestly.

*Battle of the moon starts*

They're much less annoying. They don't just spawn every two seconds, there's like one or two at most per map

Nah bro, enemy Tamamo NP.
And Drake with the cannons
Ehhh. They're not as annoying as they were in Extella.
