I made mordred as a dnd character and our DM orchestrated the whole holy grail war in the background of the campaign. It was ended one fateful day when the party stumbled across the deck of many things and Mordred could not keep herself from the chance at with held within those cards. She caved and drew just one card. That card was the card of fate. It allowed her to erase any one single event in history. So in the end Mordred got her wish and won the holy grail war without killing a single servant (only because the bastard Davy Jones escaped).

I don't know about the top voted commenters and their voters but I specifically understand that the ending lines right before Mordred's death and Shishigou's death were all about their realization that their time together was actually their wishes being fulfilled. Shishigou at the end admitted that he just wanted to spend time with his daughter and well taking into account how Mordred became friends with him it probably worked for him. The same can be said about Mordred, who at the end, realized, she just wanted to support the king, and not dethrone him. By supporting Shishigo who she started to respect and treat him as a friend she most likely completed this wish too. Hence their journey together was all about the support of a king and time spent with a daughter. Which would from a filmmaker's perspective make sense of the final shot where their cigarettes came close together and met. This is most likely why Shishigo asks her if it was fun right before he dies and after she responds that it was really fun she wonders if her father's (King Arthur's) last moments were also like this = another link to her line of thought about supporting her father, the king.
She's the main character though as she always steal the show everytime she appear. Plus Mordred and Kairi got their wish granted with a master wants a good daughter and a servant wants a good father. Kairi can go ahead and tell Mordred that Artoria might be her father but aint her daddy, and that would definitely make Mordred more feel better.

My favourite master & servent pair in fate apocrypha Shishigo has lost his daughter & Mordred got killed by father. A master who lost kid & a servent who need father's love.Nice pair and I like it.
I can vouch that yes, Mordred didn’t fully understand the purpose of being a king. And it takes a lot to not only shoulder the burden of her/his father. But the subjects of the kingdom and the responsibilities that comes with it. Meanwhile, Altoria was very responsible of her statues and was the “ideal king” to her subjects. Mordred was conceived by Between Altoria and Morgan le fe (her sister) which Altoria herself doesn’t understand how to become a parent who would understand or nurture a child that was reckless, arrogant, or even demanding. In the Anime, we saw that young Altoria was about to pull Excalibur, however: when received with a warning from Merlin, she didn’t hesitate, rather she was ready to take responsibility. Mordred only wanted to tend and help her father. To take the throne and pick up the piece she left behind and become a king worthy to be excepted by her father. It’s a harsh relationship. A child who wanted to be recognized by her parent. While the parent is stuck in between of responsibility and nurturing.
@@hasu_shinha7054 Artoria is written like a good (medieval) king though You can either be a good king or a good person, combining the two was a rarity
Even as an Artoria stan, I can confirm this. I love everything about Saber, just can't come to terms with how she dealt with Mordred her whole life, and how she still treats her.
I dont care what people say she is one of my favorite servants and a great character apocrypha was a great show and I know this is all true cause mordred was my first 5 star in fate go
Nice. My first 5* was Vlad. Shame he's a berserker in that one instead of his Lancer of Black counterpart. Though I guess he would be a bit too powerful if he didn't have the berserker weaknesses. Trying to collect all the Apocrypha servants. (So far I've got Vlad, Astolfo, Jeanne, Atlanta, and Siegfried [he was my first servant overall, aside from the best eggplant kohai])
In her actual legend she or technically he was actually hesitant to even fight her/his kin and the reason camelot fall does not only fall on her shoulder but mostly on Lancelot and Guinevere, their forbidden love being the main reason Camelot fell
Weakness is a sin I shall rise the ranks I shall be the saint that will save you all Weakness is a sin The floors run red the Sky bath in blood Are you proud of me now father?
Mordred is definitely my favorite servant in the entire fate series.I could even say she is best girl. A lot of people hate her for her past where is brought an entire country almost to ruin and killed thousands of people because Arthuria/Arthur didnt give her the throne. But her past is one of the reasons why I love her,she has clearly flaws like everyone does, whether you like it or not as much as you love a character as a waifu or husbando they always have a flaw in them. Perhaps her rampage could have been stopped and continue the life of a knight or who knows maybe the treacherous knight could be a very heroic knight. And at last, this is the reason I love Mordred, she has weaknesses, strength and a very well written character.
Even then, considering her past, a lot of it is mostly caused by Arthur. Same argument can be done for Lancelot slaughtering like half of the Round Table. Sadly, instead of speaking her mind clearly when she had to, her silence just doomed everyone. But yeah, I figure the situation is somewhat on her too.
Thats why i loved her. I dont Know why but when People talking about how she killed many People, destroy everything, Caused the death of most knights of the round table, killing gawain (i guess) and many things that she did and i dont remember now makes me want to say cool or funny. And thats why camelot Singularity doesnt Make sense to me. She killed theme so how could they work together? If it was Just agravain it could Make sense but gawain? I dont think so Maybe im wrong but this is what i think 😶
Honestly Apoc's servant showing was pretty stacked Mo is top tier, Achilles may be one note but is a total bro and bounces really well off Chiron, Karna is straight up my favorite fate servant and has one of the coolest legends of any heroic spirit imo.
I know the show wanted you to fall in love with Jeanne D'arc as the shows main heroine, but Mordred was that girl for me. It wasn't about a love story for her, but rather overcoming her past and acceptance. She is my favorite Saber in all of Fate. Artoria comes in 2nd for me followed by Miyamoto.

Guys, am not gonna lie. I watched Fate Grand Order Babylonia first, then unlimited Blade works second. Am a grown ass dude but these guys sure know how to make a dude weep. This anime does pull out the concept of bonds between people VERY VERY WELL. The only other anime that made me weep was Shiki. And from what i see in the comments section, looks like am going to cry again. So lemme get this straight.. Atoria Pendragon/Saber of Unlimited Blade Works was the 'Father' of Mordred the current saber???
Oof. There's a bit of explaining to do here. Yes, Artoria is Mordred's father. Artoria was made male briefly by Merlin so she could consummate her relationship with her wife/the queen, but then she was kidnapped and used to produce Mordred by Morgan, her sister. But there is no "current" Saber. Fate/Stay Night, UBW, and Heaven's Feel are all in their own continuity. They are three different paths for the same story. Fate/Zero is the prequel to Stay Night, and sets up many events in Stay Night. Fate Grand/Order is an alternate timeline where only one Holy Grail War happens, and Apocrypha is also an alternate timeline. *slight spoilers for Fate/Stay Night I haven't seen all of Heaven's Feel so I can't fully explain this, but the reason the grail is corrupted in Stay Night and Fate/Zero is because in the third Holy Grail War, instead of summoning (I think) Berserker, the Einzberns "cheated" by summoning a different, eighth class. In the original Stay Night timeline, they summon Avenger, True Name Angra Mainu, who is representative of "all the evils in the world". He was actually the weakest servant to ever exist, which obviously lead to his and the Einzberns' defeat. The thing is, defeated servants are absorbed by the Grail, and so the Grail absorbed the embodiment of all the evils in the world and became corrupted. *slight spoilers for Apocrypha if you haven't seen it* Apocrypha is called "Apocrypha" because it starts from a scenario that doesn't happen in main storyline canon in which the Einzberns summon a Ruler instead of an Avenger. Thus, Amakusa Shirou is brought into the world. I don't know much else about the third Holy Grail War, so I don't know if the participants changed (I assume so, cuz the guy trying to become immortal in Apocrypha seemed to be too powerful to lose the war in any timeline he participated in), but yeah.
@@juangalvez2404 damn. I though Kiritsugu's death was a curse of Angra from Irisviel for rejecting her. Watched Apocrypha already. Watched Grand Order. It was the first thing i watched before i moved to Unlimited Blade WORKS. Haven't watched heaven's feel. Seems like the same thing as UBW
@@montro-city9920 Oh, no, Kiritsugu's death was the curse of the Grail... but they don't really explain more than that. Also, the Grail was not Irisviel, it was Angra presenting himself as Irisviel. He cursed Kiritsugu for rejecting the ability to make a wish. The Grand Order Babylonia anime is actually the second-to-last section (singularity) of the story for the Fate mobile game. I believe the first singularity was also made into an anime, but I don't know its name. The Fate, UBW, and Heaven's Feel routes all involve the same characters and the same premise, but the stories diverge pretty radically. Like Shirou doesn't learn that Archer is him from the future in the Fate route, and the main love interest/focus is Saber in the Fate route. The antagonist at the end of UBW is Gilgamesh, but at the end of Fate, Kotomine and Ilya are both still alive to fight. The main love interest for Heaven's Feel is Sakura, and it's the most grim route of the three because you learn her backstory, as well as some other things.
Mordred is my Favorite Servant/Character in all of Fate.
If you want to read something uber dark go read the original lore of mordred and his atrocious deeds
Same. Best girl.
Remember when you thought she was going to be the main character?
SIKES
Good times. It would be way better... Even Jeanne falling in love with Mordred would have more sence than cartonbox Sieg... Oh well, Type moon.

My favourite master & servent pair in fate apocrypha
Shishigo has lost his daughter & Mordred got killed by father. A master who lost kid & a servent who need father's love.Nice pair and I like it.
Let's be real, Mordred may not have been ready/suited for kingship but Artoria was no way in Hell suited to be a parent
@@hasu_shinha7054 Artoria is written like a good (medieval) king though

Even as an Artoria stan, I can confirm this. I love everything about Saber, just can't come to terms with how she dealt with Mordred her whole life, and how she still treats her.

Fate Apocrypha had many interesting characters and servants, I only wish we got more time with them all.

The reason why I started watching Apocrypha 2 days ago, my first and last Fate anime.
I dont think so
Maybe im wrong but this is what i think 😶
A little girl wanted to be recognized by her dad, a brave little girl.
This is why i love Mordred
Honestly Apoc's servant showing was pretty stacked
Mo is top tier, Achilles may be one note but is a total bro and bounces really well off Chiron, Karna is straight up my favorite fate servant and has one of the coolest legends of any heroic spirit imo.
This playing and the door to Semiramis opening was a great setup for a battle. 10/10.

Me:"Oh look, another saberface as main character"
Fate/Apo: " _Jeanne is a saberface too I guess_ "
However imo Janne was good, but Mordred better, the problem was Sieg

Say what people will about the story, but I love the music and the fight scenes.
*slight spoilers for Fate/Stay Night
I haven't seen all of Heaven's Feel so I can't fully explain this, but the reason the grail is corrupted in Stay Night and Fate/Zero is because in the third Holy Grail War, instead of summoning (I think) Berserker, the Einzberns "cheated" by summoning a different, eighth class.
*slight spoilers for Apocrypha if you haven't seen it*
Apocrypha is called "Apocrypha" because it starts from a scenario that doesn't happen in main storyline canon in which the Einzberns summon a Ruler instead of an Avenger.
Suffice to say, they're all pretty different.
@@juangalvez2404 ok i'll do heaven's feel tonight

Fun fact: When Artoria went to Rome to stop the war between the countries she left Mordred and Gawain to take care of the country, basically act as the king, it makes sense to leave Gawain because together with Bedi as Kay he is one of the knights who has been with Artoria from the beginning and one she can trust, but Mordred was an odd choice, specially after the revelation of her being her son/clone, and then she returned later and the rebellion had started, and they had just ended the war with Rome.
