My doctor told me I had hypertension & prediabetes. He wanted me to take chronic meds. I asked, "What about diet and exercise?" He laughed in my face and told me he would give me one month to turn it around. In one month I went back and he looked at my blood work and asked me why I was there and I reminded him about laughing at my suggestion. He said, "Well, I'm gonna delete the diagnosis from your chart." And when I went back I had lost about 30 lbs and they couldn't save my weight in the system cause it told them there was an error. Never stop fighting for us, Casey and Calley. Without people like you we will all die young.

I'm relieved to read your post... My son was identified as possibly being on the Autistic spectrum 6 months after he joined school at age 4. He was referred by the school and diagnosed (by the NHS in UK) at age 5. I was devastated as I imagined the life he would have. I did a deep dive on the condition and made myriad changes... He's now 7 and people who meet him for the first time are surprised he was diagnosed. There is some deep truth in what is being discussed here - and I agree other people will see anecdotal evidence, but there must be a big enough number of kids with diagnoses, that have shown big changes if someone would just study it!

This certainly wasn’t my first experience like this but just the most recent, I went in a couple months ago and my cholesterol was a bit off. With no discussion, they told me they were putting me on fenofibrate. I brought up natural solutions and she was genuinely stumped and just tried to answer it like she knew what she was talking about. I went home and researched about my diet, made some changes and bought some supplements and started working out 4-5 times a week Instead of 1-2 and 6 weeks later I tested phenomenally on all those markers. When they said the medication is obviously working and I told them what I did instead she acted genuinely curious and almost skeptical. This podcast nails everything dead on with our health system.

I listened to their interview on TV 5 weeks ago, then bought the Good Energy book. Thank You for putting all the pieces together in one place. It made me KNOW I must stop eating ultraprocessed foods to be healthy. I eat mostly clean foods, but find myself justifying a meal from the gas station because I'm so busy. The change was so fast, pollinators returned to my yard both pollen specialist bees and butterflies laying their eggs on host plants. Many more birds and lizards and toads. It’s been awesome for my health as well, I am getting more vitamin D, and exercise from doing yard chores and I am in wonder of all the life I have around me in my garden. Then I tried to follow the prescribed diet all while fighting the medical system trying to put me on a pill the rest of my life. I finally did my own research into carnivore diet and saw anecdotal evidence of people no longer having attacks. This is dispite the fact that all doctors will tell you to avoid red meat for gout. I have not had a flare up in over a year since I started a low carb diet with tons of red meat. Primarily eating pounds of beef every week. I eat some vegetables but not too much and thats really it. The rheumatologist laughed at me when I refused his last attempt to sell me on the drug and I told him I was changing my diet against their recommendations. I said we'll see and have never had to go back to a doctor for gout since :)

However tonight I felt obligated to leave a comment to say I THOROUGHLY enjoyed and was educated to the nth degree about all of this subject matter. I agree, that I have always felt SOMEthing is wrong with the US healthcare system, but never specifically could pinpoint exactly WHAT it is. I lived in Houston Tx for 36 years, and have recently moved back to England, my birthplace, so I feel I am well rounded enough to comment on the difference between US and UK policy on all that these two AMAZING people are bringing to light about the healthcare system in the US. I have FULLY sat up and paid attention after watching these two highly educated humans share their knowledge, education, experience and just plain common sense with Joe's podcast and his millions of listeners (watchers). MAS MAS MAS kudos and thanks to you both for everything you are doing, have done, and continue to do, to educate us all, and try to ...... essentially ...... help steer us in a better direction, from this downward trajectory we unfortunately seem to be on (health wise). What is the difference between the UK? I love the English people. But it does appear that the English are asleep to the importance and meaning of Trump, and they seem to have no idea that we are in a Global Revolutionary War, akin to 1776 (America officially breaking free from ownership by the Crown).
The world is trying to break free from the Syndicate, and the English don't seem to know. And it's frustrating because the English are so eloquent and articulate and their wisdom is important and we need them to be fully vested.

Next step is to stop voting for the uni-party and put our votes into independent representation that isn't bought off by these large financial actors, unelected officials and elite think-tanks. Labour won in the UK with only like a third of the votes this last time, which shows that people are losing faith in our traditional political parties.

They shouldn't profit from their books and speaking engagements the way that prisoners can't profit from their crimes. I'm glad they seem to have switched teams, but they'd do more good in the world by explaining the things they could have done to not go down the wrong path to begin with. Always question your specialist! I was at the dentist many years ago and he was telling me I should get my wisdom teeth taken out. Personally I didn't want to go through the hassle, but instead of saying no to an 'expert,' I asked him if he could show me the X-rays he took and walk me through them, to which he agreed. I then asked him what happens if I don't take them out and he answered reasonably. Then I asked "based on the X-rays you just showed me, do I need to take them out?" He hesitated a bit and then said "No, I guess not." Keep in mind I didn't tell him "No" but got the answer I wanted after 'expert recommendation'... All it took was a line of questioning. He was embarrassed and ended up telling me he makes $4000/tooth for his clinic. Ever since then I looked at experts differently and when the C19 happened, that solidified my lack of trust in 'experts.'

I was raised outside the western medical system mainly because my grandmother and then my mother believed in natural health and nutrition. I was born at home with midwives. I’m probably one of the healthiest people I know. I only go to hospitals to visit other people who are sick and it’s truly terrifying. My grandmother passed away at 99 working in her garden. She had told us she was ready to go, she wasn’t sick, she wasn’t on any medications, she wasn’t senile. She was still taking daily walks with her dog. These brave women showed me the best health insurance is living a healthy lifestyle. My son eats regular whole foods (organic vegetables, dairy, meats and grains.) I don’t give him any processed food or snacks. He doesn’t snack, he eats full meals and other moms are astounded when they see how he eats. He likes to go running with my husband he’s only four but can run over a mile at a good pace non stop. I also delivered him at home with a midwife and doula and he’s never been on any medications. My holistic Dr has treated any illness naturally and he recovers quickly. I’ve seen people with stage 4 cancer turn things around by radically changing their habits and lifestyle. Recovery is possible, health on every level is possible. Your health is in your hands ❤🙌.

When I teach clients the nutrition needed for their health condition they often say, "Why didn't my doctor tell me this?" To which I reply, "Because your doctor was trained in medicine, not nutrition."
For real progress, we need a power shift within the medical industry, particularly with big pharma. The focus must move from maximizing profits to prioritizing healing and patient outcomes. Only then can we create a healthcare system that truly serves the people, rather than being driven by corporate interests.

I have been on this kick for more than 5 years. I love it that Dr.s are finally coming into this. I have said before they don't teach nutrition so they don't know. I was definitely an outsider and everyone rolled their eyes when I offered a solution. Thank you Joe for bringing this out to so many. These next 5 years are going to be so informative.

I'm post-menopausal and in the best shape of my life just from cutting out processed food, added sugar and most grains (I'll enjoy a restaurant meal every couple of weeks or so and an occasional homemade treat), eating lots of protein-rich whole foods, walking a decent amount (~5-6 miles on average daily), and working out with dumbbells in my own house. It doesn't have to be expensive. I've always eaten pretty well by most standards, but found after menopause I had to cut WAY down on carbs to lose the belly without being hungry all the time. I wish more people knew it doesn't have to be so hard or complicated. We can do this!!!

Thank you for your comment! I'm in perimenopause and recently went through a nasty bout of shingles, which was only helped by steroids. I gained a ton of weight- mostly in my gut. Thank you for giving me hope!

Fabulous job! I spend 2-3 hours cooking for my family most days. I believe heart and soul with what they are talking about.

I cook most of our food once every 5 days. Only takes 2 hrs. Use a crock pot full of meat. That’s five days of food for my family of five. Then we do bacon and eggs. The bacon is cooked all at once too on cookie sheets in the oven. I cook 4 pounds at a time. Easy peezy. I can barely walk/disabled. And it doesn’t take much time at all. You gotta be smart, efficient
