I also loved The Midnight Library when I read it last year. I know it’s polarizing, but it said many things that I NEEDED to hear when I did. I’m very grateful for it.
I've read 28 books so far this year which I'm really happy about My top faves💖 : Assassin's Apprentice by Robin Hobb Once Upon A Broken Heart by Stephanie Garber Hooked by Emily McIntire Seven Husbands of Evelyn Hugo Love & Other Words Books that I disliked: Bunny A House at the Bottom of a Lake by Josh Malerman Dnf- Calypso by David Sedaris
I've read nearly 60 books so far. I don't get it either. I was planning on taking it easy this year because I had such a meh reading year last year in terms of quality. I gave myself a lower reading goal, and I began the year with a reread of a book that I love. I don't know how I would describe the reading year so far. I have gotten back into poetry late last year and I have read some collections this year. I have read some short story collections too and I have been having a very good time with those. Particularly Rhonda Parrish's anthologies. I have found a new favourite recently which was a novella. The Embalmer by Anne-Renee Caille which is about a daughter who is taking notes from her father about his life as an embalmer. Toil and Trouble: 15 Tales of Women and Witchcraft is also possibly a new favourite but I am still unsure if it is. It is an excellent YA anthology though and I got so much out of my read. My current read definitely is giving me favourite vibes at the moment, Night Theatre by Vikram Paralkar, which is about a surgeon who has a family of dead people with fatal wounds asking for medical assistance or else they will all be dead in the morn. So yeah, I am in a good place with reading right now and I am excited for my next reads as well, but I don't know how I feel about my reading overall this year.
It's been going pretty well. I've started reading again in december last year, so I've already read more books this year than I have ever read in one year! I've read 13 books so far. My top 3 of those is 1. Where the crawdads sing - Delia Owens (one of the best books I've ever read!) 2. Josh and Hazel's Guide to Not Dating - Christina Lauren 3. Anxious People - Fredrik Backman
@@megl9638 It was my first Backman, but definitely not my last. I can't wait to read other books by him, I think I'll pick up A man called Ove next, the story sounds right up my alley :)
my favorites so far this year have been: the seven husbands of evelyn hugo catching fire off-campus series (sigh) and a little lower on that list: you deserve each other november 9 ❤️❤️
my favourite books of 2022 so far: The Afterlife of Holly Chase by Cynthia Hand The Opposite of Butterfly Hunting by Evanna Lynch (the actress who played Luna Lovegood), so intense Normal People by Sally Rooney
I don't know if your phone can do this, but I was able to make the Storygraph into an app for me by pressing the section that you would use to share the link for the website, but I kept scrolling down and there was an option that said 'add to home screen' and thats made things easier for me! I have an iphone and I'm not entirely sure if that same function is on other types
And I feel you on realizing you just can't read everything; I've been unhauling via Pango books and I am definitely letting go of unread stuff. It's hard to decide even when I have read stuff, let alone unread! But I need money for my bunny's vet bills that never end...
I've read 8 books so far this year, and top 2 would be "The thursday murder club" and "It ends with us"! Worst one was definitely "Norwegian wood" and "On earth we´re briefly gorgeous"! They did just not match my taste. The goal is 20 books this year, and I think I can do it! :)
My top three are Fallen Star by Claudia Gray, Midnight Horizon by Daniel Jose Older, Nightwing vol I Leaping into the Light by Tom Taylor. Also enjoyed Raybearer but glad I got it from the library, same with She Who Became the Sun (so good, but I don't need to own it). Nothing really bad, though Iron Widow was just kinda okay...
I haven't read that much this year but literally all of the books (apart from one) I have around 4-5 stars. The one book that i didn't give 4 or 5 stars was The Winter Garden by Alexandra Bell. I can't really explain what the book was about, it's hard to describe ut but I gave it 3.5 stars. It was OK, but the other books I read were excellent ❤❤❤
Excellent way of describing The Midnight Library. "It was a book with a clear message but it didn't take away from the story". I usually hate message books so much, but this one was interesting enough on its own as a story that I enjoyed it a lot.
Loved The Midnight Library, DNFed Ace of Spades, and You've Reached Sam is on my TBR! My top two favourite books so far have been All The Bright Places and Reminders of Him!
I have read a total of three books so far this year, but I have enjoyed all of them! The shadows between us and the first two books in the Mind F*ck series.
I loved Fanfiction. I didn't realize it was written by Data when I started it but I think that helped me enjoy it more. The things he added to people just were wonderful and I had to go look up if some of them were true or not.
My top three reads this year: The Darkness Outside Us by Eliot Schrefer, Near the Bone by Christina Henry and Circe by Madeline Miller. My least favorite read: The Paris Apartment by Lucy Foley.
After thinking deeply Twisted Hate by Ana Huang is my favorite book I've read this year! It's like Princess Diaries 2 but make it an adult romance it's so good!
My favourite books so far You've Reached Sam All The Young Dudes (Yes, the fanfiction. I'm including that here.) well.. that was it. I actually enjoyed reading ''If I Never Met You'' by Mhairi McFarlane but some things about the last few chapters..bugged me.
Top 2 : Gilded Ones by Namina Forna and Piranesi by Susanna Clarke. ...and all of the wayward children books. Bottom 2: Fury born, Priority of the orange tree. I've been in a baaaadd reading slump, like absolutely nothing makes me enjoy reading. Not sure if it's slump or mental health but I'm struggling 😅 But it'll pass I am sure ❤️
My favourite books so far are the Polar Bear Explorers Club series, The Tales of Dr. Seuss and The Enchanted Sonata. Unfortunately, I also read many mediocre books.
This video will be a very interesting video to watch please stay safe and enjoy your reading love you and your amazing channel love your Australia friend John xxxx I really enjoyed watching this video love it and looking forward to seeing more of these types of videos
I think the memoir In Order to Live by Yeonmi Park would have to be my favourite read so far this year. It was just so interesting, raw and emotional 🦋
Just want to let you know that The Storygraph is available as an app for both android and ios now :)
Would love a future video of all the books you DNF'd and why 😄
