Hi Heidi! This mask is recommended for severely damaged hair, overprocessed, bleached multiple times etc, I think that's why it didn't work the best for you, despite you having highlights I would say your hair looks quite healthy. For reference I recently bleached my hair 3 times to go from copper to white (a difficult process) and this mask combined with the shampoo of the same line did wonders at rescuing my severely dead hair 😅 I think you will get better results if you follow it with an hydrating conditioner to balance out the protein in the mask :)

@@ani_n01 If you can't buy the whole line I wouldn't bother. This particular line needs to be used all together for the best benefit. Your hair won't be dry and tangled if you use the shampoo and serum with it.
I have healthy, non-treated hair and I love this mask! It is my favourite mask from Kerastase lately, works great with the shampoo too. Try using it after deep clarifying shampoo and after apply something creamy like the Nectar Thermique, or other hydrating cream and then style it. Trust me the fullness and life that this gives to the hair is amazing! But beware if used together with the shampoo more frequently it can weight the hair down and make it look worse, so switch it up every second wash for best results! 💕

Heidi, I used this mask even without my hair not being thick or extremely damaged and it was absolutely amazing. First, you shouldn't rinse out any mask especially a repairing or protein heavy with your head upside down. That's causes tangling. Second, with this type of mask, it's highly recommended to use a hydrating conditioner and three if your hair felt dry, I would recommend to switch up your next wash to a hydrating line. Also, why are we not using a heat protecting leave-in after?! That's why your ends feel dry. I literally took the last 2 years to study and understand haircare and the one thing that I would say is that most people use the products wrong and then don't understand why the product doesn't work for them. To everyone- always and forever use a leave-in conditioner with heat protectant especially more when you're going to heat dry your hair. That's key to keep your oldest hair ( the middle to ends) happy and avoid frying and causing split ends.

You must use a moisturizing conditioner after the hair mask because the Keratin etc. make the hair really strong you must use a moisturizer conditioner to make the hair smooth again. So you have strong but smooth hair 👌🏻😊

This is not true. You must use the whole line together. If you do there is no need for other moisturizing conditioners. The shampoo sets the hair up for great results from the mask and the serum seals it all in beautifully. In this case it's not marketing but the line must be used together, no mixing. I know from experience.

Congratulations on 10M views!!! I recently suffered from a lot of hair loss because of Typhoid. It's a common disease during rains. Just ordered Olaplex No. 3 to help repair my hair because it's become extremely dry and just weak. Will remember to use good amount of conditioner/Olaplex No. 8 after washing off No. 3. Your channel has been so helpful in my hair healing journey! Sadly, I've had to restart the hair healing process because of my illness last month but I'll get back my healthy hair soon 🤞

This is one of Kerastase's best. The only reason for it to not work on your obviously bleached and damaged hair is because you used it incorrectly. You're obsessed with anti-freeze, but this line is not for that. You'll need extra conditioning and antifreeze to achieve what you want. This is a construction line for damaged hair, which you do have. But you practically used Olaplex number 3 and blow dried immediately after. It would be similar results. Jeez.

It actually defrizzes my hair beautifully! You must use the whole line though. Shampoo, conditioner, and serum. The combination makes my hair feel like SILK!

I received this product free today. The price tag at the salon was €47. However because the hair dresser over processed my hair with a chemical hair straightener my hair was falling out in hand fulls😮
The hair breakage was so bad but when I went back to the salon they just lied and told me that it was normal. 🤥 They we’re also laughing like I told the best joke ever. Then I understood that it was all at my expense. So I left half way through a hair treatment that wasn’t going to do anything to my hair. To cut a long stir short they sent me this product and a full refund of €131…
I have used used it and my hair feels very soft and hydrated. I have not blowdryed or straightened it because I want to wait until my hair stops breaking off. So no heat for my hair fir now. I wouldn’t go to a salon to have this mask though and wouldn’t buy of this product range until there is a noticeable difference with hair repair.
The product is specifically for over processed badly damaged hair.
I would definitely recommend this product if your hair is in emergency need of 🆘 repair from extreme hair breakage because after an hour of using this product for the first time my hair has stopped breaking off when I run my hands through my head.😊

Hey Heidi, if you’re having issues with damaged/dry ends you need the extensionist mask! I think you’d also enjoy the serum, defiantly don’t waste this one and focus it on your ends and mid lengths avoiding the roots

This mask it’s amazing for damage hair being an olaplex lover (use all the line) I would say I try this mask and did not love it at first because I have dry hair next time I used it with my bumble and bumble hydrating conditioner and started to see amazing results help a lot with my breakage and my dead hair after and horrible bleach session at the salon! Besos

This mask need to be used with the shampoo as well . My hair was very very damaged from highlights and broken in a way that i lost all my har length. I tried everything but this kerastase saved my hair to be honest iv'e been using it for a year and i can't stand without it , didn't gave me any kind of allergy is the top mask ever for African hair 🍀

Estoy usando olaplex número 8, pero no me hace mucho en el cabello ya que tengo mucho frizz, pelo seco y se me enreda demasiado. Así que a partir de tus reviews estaba en duda si cómprarme kerastase chronologiste o la moroccanoil deep hydrating mask, por ahora voy por la última opción.

Hola Heidi, yo tengo el pelo fino y tmb se me encrespa. Esta mascarilla me comentaron que es bastante pesada, y por eso me recomendaron la línea “resistance - extentionist” y realmente es una maravilla! 🙌 ahora estoy con olaplex pero no dudaría en volver a comprármela. Deja el pelo muy sedoso, con brillo y ligero. De aspecto cierra bastante las puntas.

Hola Heidi. Yo tuve rosácea hasta hace un año. Me recomendaron el láser pero no me animé. Finalmente la curé usando retinol. Estoy totalmente libre de rosácea, pero tienes que tener mucha paciencia ya que el retinol muestra resultados óptimos luego de 6 meses o más.
Qué bueno! Ya les voy a mostrar cómo me está yendo con el láser cuando termine las sesiones. Qué marca de retinol? Avene?
@@heidiguttenberg en realidad hay muchas marcas. Cualquiera que tengas confianza. Por ejemplo The Ordinary va bien para empezar. Cuando ya tengas la piel adaptada el mejor que hay es el de Paulas’s Choice. Pero ya es del 1%, primero tienes que arrancar con un 0,2% e ir subiendo de a poquito. Lo importante es que sea retinol, porque a veces usan derivados. Siempre de noche y evitar el sol sin protección. Y mucha paciencia. Pero si te acostumbras y lo toleras es un activo para siempre. A la mañana vitamina C y a la noche retinol. Es acumulativo y sirve para todo: rojez, manchas, etc.
So I work at a hair salon and Kerastase said they’re stopping this range! 😢it’s so good. They said they’re reformulating all their products, like their Colour shampoo has proteins now and a different colour & scent.

This is the only product that helped my hair grow! so I give it a 10 if that is what u need! :) is very thick so u need to remove it properly otherwise ur hair gets oily

Hi Heidi, I've been wondering, since you're testing and using so many different hair masks/products, how do you know exactly which one is really working vs just masking the damage?
There are certain ones that I use more often. Also, so many hair masks are like makeup for the hair or promise instant results. So they should work with one use.

@@heidiguttenberg Hahaha come join us 😜 Yes we have the same type of curl/wave patern and I always straighten my hair too 🤣 Btw Moroccanoil is still my number 1 mask and shea moisture jamaican black castor oil and the protein mask from shea moisture are both on number 2 of my favorites and the shea moisture with manuka honey that you loved is number 3 favorite. So I think you need to try the jamaican black castor oil or the protein one from shea moisture 😉 one is more moisturizing one does wonders with restoring the hair (even better then olaplex3)

I have so many issues with this mask. Starting with overpowering scent. Don't get me wrong, I enjoy long-lasting notes, but this one in particular smells cheap, heavy and overpowering scent aura stays in my hair for too long after washing.
I have tried it before cutting my dry, damaged ends and after. And I cannot see any benefits 🤷🏼♀️
I've tried applying it
- after shampoo and conditioner
- after shampoo, before conditioner
- before shampoo and conditioner
- not using conditioner
- before shampooing, but starting with a conditioner...
You name it, I've tried it.
Experimented also with the amount of product.
Results are more dry, stiff ends and overall my hair looks like a hay.
I'm not new in trying Kerastase products and every single time they were more on a disappointing side.
If I compare the results with Morrocanoil Hydration mask (and yes, I understand they aren't the same since Kerastase is on the protein side), with Hydration mask my hair looks and feels like waterfalls of silk and soft 😁 healthy and supple. Wish Kerastase was selling products in trial/travel sizes so the investment into feeding curiosity isn't as big as it is 😅

I agree with you on the scent. It's too strong and smells like a man but this line is so good on my hair that I put up with it. I really do think it's one of those lines where you need to use the whole line. Mixing it with other products doesn't really work with this one.
Thank you for video Heidi, from the picture I can really see that this mask dried your hair, this is total stop for me. I am testing right now two new brands, it is Nanogen (shampoo and conditioner) and john frieda (mask go blonde) and lift volume something :D....I found them as recommended from the other blogger but I was surprised that they have alcohol inside (john frieda brand), I found for myself that product with alcohol are really not good for my hair :( I think in the end I'll just stay with Olaplex :D
