I got the Boss Katana MKII 50 11 days ago the tone studio makes that amp do what no other amp does I really recommend it the sound is awesome no need for a tube amp the price of a tube amp is way to much the Boss Katana MKII 50 is $270 the Boss Katana MKII 100 212 is $530 why buy a tube amp
I have this exact amp and can say without a doubt that you can get any sound you want with it. Its powerful too. I jammed with a full band including a drummer and never turned it over maybe half power on the 50w setting.
There are actually 4 channels, hold down the panel button and it switches to the other 2. Also these are just preset buttons. If you get the boss fs-6 footswitch you can toggle through all 4.
Nitij Ramdany no you can use standard footswitches like the fs series. The 100 etc have a super duper footswitch that you can’t use on the 50 and also send /return section

There’s three guitars I really want right now a prs , the schecter super shredder and this esp idk what it’s called right off hand. Idk I love my charvel and probably am more of a super strat guy but love having didn’t guitars to inspire different playing. I have the boss katana my 2 and the spider my 2 also but just got the boss hence why I’m looking up vids for it. Anyway great playing and you’re cute too

The 50 watt at half volume is loud enough to play with a metal style drummer. However, I would go with the 100 watt if you want to use it live. Rob Chapman made a video of the 50 watt with live drums and bass. It cuts through just fine.
Hi Sophie ,you got the channels wrong, they are channels to save your patches, and they are actually 4 channels plus panel, the reason they might sound different is because what was preset in those patches(mods,boost,ect) and those stay when you change amp setting(clean, crunch,etc), bad demo ,but great playing.

I never knew so many older men watched RUclips some of the comments are kinda creepy. Im stuck between this amp and the Positive Grid Spark? The Katana sounds way better but the Spark has some cool features.
What did you end up getting? I just sold a Helix and got the 100W 112 Mk2. The internet haters do a good job of saying this amp doesn’t sound good, but I just can’t agree. It sounds really good, and it’s loud. This amp could honestly sell for $499-$599.

As for other people saying the amp doesn't sound good I've seen the opposite. It's reviews are overwhelmingly positive. That's why I bought it.
@@Brewer_ I think that a majority of the folks admire what the Katana is, particularly for the price. I don’t think, however, that a majority of people are going to tell you that it’s going to do better than a Princeton or a small Mesa combo, but those amps come at a premium price.
How do you go about learning those licks you do in the clean tones and some in the leads especially like at 148 and 154 ish... they kind of look like you are doing scales and deriving licks from different scales but was wondering if there were specific licks you do?
I own two of these. Channel 1 and 2 are simply user editable banks. They have nothing to do with gain. Set the amp on panel mode, select your amp type, tweak, and hold the channel button to save your settings. Crunch sounds better with Treble dimed. Lead and Brown are very trebly, so dial it back. Cheers.
Most of the people that complain about this amp have not used the tone studio. It's easy to jump into the tone studio and get lost in the endless adjustability!! It's great that this is also available as a head so it can be plugged into a high dollar 4x12 cabinet!! Awesome demo. Your playback tone quality is really good. Keep it up!!

I actually just got the 2x12 100 watt version of this and even at 0.5w mode, the thing kicks serious ass. Great playing and that PRS looks amazing.
