In this video we test driver shaft weight, a 50g, 60g, and 70g to see if there are any differences in performance and numbers.
We also discuss fitting ideas around shaft weight, what might be best for you and why...
Great test and well explained. I think if you have a fast transition the shaft weight is emphasised even more and its very easy for the heavy shaft to get stuck behind your normal swing path. I would be happy if manufactures got rid of Flex and just did weight and torque numbers
Yes, or an independent way to compare flex universally. But that will never happen unfortunately
Just get an autoflex then
At 6'5" and 275lbs I find a heavier shaft much easier to keep on plane
Great comparison and again educating people with regards how the shaft can impact a swing and how it can effect shape, distance and feel⛳️🏌🏻👏🏻👍🏻
Thanks bud 👍👍
Awesome channel. Extremely informative and in-depth. Subbed
Thanks B W! Really appreciate that 👍👍
Shaft weight is normally to control plane. I use 75g Evenflow white and anytime my friends want to check it out, they say I am swinging a telephone pole.
great review...I am 58 with only a 90-94 mph swing speed...hit a 44 1/2 inch driver regular flex and hit it fairly straight and high...was wondering if i should go even shorter or maybe just tinker with a different driver and various shafts ?
i just put in for a driver fitting at TXG in Calgary Alberta Canada...might be the best 100 dollars spent to try all these shafts and drivers and get dialed in on a driver and a shaft ment for me and I am SO EXCITED TO GET THIS FITTING I FEEL LIKE A LITTLE BOY ON XMAS EVE WAITING FOR THE NEXT MORNING...LOL ahhhhh about 3 weeks to wait...... cheers from Vulcan Canada
How did it go? What came out as the winner and what were your numbers (ss/bs/spin/carry/total/dispersion)? Thinking of going to TXG (now CC) myself
@@tonybytheway7543 sadly I had to cancel but am hoping to get there this year if i need a new driver cheers
I play the TZ6 55 CB M4 it’s a phenomenal shaft for something lighter but low torque. Especially in a ping head
Yeah they are superb shafts mate
You are very quick and wirery
Willow Crest #17 ... I live 1 mile from the course
When fiberglass shafts first became popular torque was a discussion point. Flex isn’t just in one direction. This past year or so as I’ve been looking back into shafts I never hear it mentioned. WHY is that?
Good stuff
Thanks David 👍
Good vid
Thanks John, appreciate it
would it feel awesome if u put sum hotmelt in the driver head with 50 gram shaft ?
Is Accra the only company that keeps CPM similar when changing the weights like that? Also just for fun was there any tipping to these shafts?
They are the only one I know of mate yeah, and no, no tipping on these. I rarely tip driver shafts.
So in that case.. how much softer would you say a Ventus black 5x is vs a Ventus black 6x. (Just for comparison since it’s not Accra)
@@purrly8578 stay tuned from a video that will probably be coming next week 🧐😉
What you mean by D1, D3 etc?
That's swing weight. I've got a full video on it on my channel 👍
This data is off; no way you can carry a ball 306 with your swing
Yeah that's a bit down for me, I'm usually around the 320 mark
so if you swing out of your shoes there is basically no difference. thanks.
There's just not as much difference as people would imagine
