Yes start with the nice thrifted one. You can always change it after you lived with it after a while. You might even find another thrifted one like you always do that you like even more than the new one. And you could always wait for a sale on the new. Definitely would not suggest spending on new if you don't completely love it or not sure. Have fun decorating!

Love the thrifted rug, the green and tan looks so warm and inviting. The other one looks a little bland to me. For $15 I would keep it, later if you find one you like better, you can change it up. The Lord answered your prayer.
Personally, I feel rug #2 is more in keeping with the overall look you are trying to achieve. I would clean the $15 rug and place it on FB Marketplace and this will offset the cost of the new even if just a tiny bit and know that it's going to someone who loves it. Thanks for sharing.

When you unrolled the thrifted rug my first thought was “wow that’s gorgeous.”
It is a gorgeous rug! But when I saw the muted “faded” looking new rug I thought that would be beautiful in her room.
Now, it would take a little bit of time, but what I would do is put one rug down, decorate my living room like I wanted with things I have. Take pictures and live with it a week. Second week do the very same thing with the other rug. Take pictures and live with it for a week. Then you will be able to make a better decision on which you love the best and want to live with. The other thing to consider while doing this is long time satisfaction. Because $630 would not be easy to replace if you didn’t like it..the thrifted rug$15 you would not think twice because it was such a good deal.

Sarah, I so understand your dilemma. My opinion, I think you will get tired of the thrifted rug a lot sooner. I think the new rug is a classic. Honestly, could you put the thrifted rug somewhere else - family room, dining room? Loan to your sister! If they both cost the same amount, which would you choose? Love what you have done so far, enjoy the little glimpses we are getting. Best to you and your family.

I really like the thrifted rug. I think it looks elegant with your decor. I don’t think I would spend $600 for a rug that looks worn. I would definitely go with the $15 rug. However, you have to decide what you like best.

I didn't read the comments to sway my opinion. You have 2 great options! When you laid out the 1st rug, I said to the computer "Put your artwork,etc. next to the rug" and then you did for the 2nd rug. They both look nice. With the 1st rug, all you see is the pretty rug. Your eye is drawn to that. The 2nd rug is almost quieter and let's the accessories share in the limelight. Without seeing everything in place, I would maybe vote for the 2nd one. I know the 1st one is a great deal. For that price, I would probably even just hang onto it.

So praying about a rug may seem silly to us but I don't think so at and I don't believe that our heavenly father thinks so either. Pray about everything nothing is neither too big nor too small for our God. He looks at out heart🙏🏽

I love how you prayed specifically for a thrifted rug. I have done that too, and God had answered by providing specific items for a reasonable price at thrift stores. I see it as a way I am honoring him with my money, and God has blessed that.

I like the new rug better because it’s more muted. With the thrifted rug I feel like when you walk into the room it just screams at you with all the ornate, harsh lines, and colors. Plus it seems to small to me for your room. I’m sure you’ll make the best decision because your house is gorgeous and you have excellent taste!!
You have to go with your heart on this decision. I'm also all about saving money but if it were me I would go with the new one. The $15 rug is almost to dramatic in your space in my opinion. If you had darker furniture it would work but against the white it screams to loud.😊❤

I love bargains but my pick is the vintage inspired rug with your decor. It’s a hard choice but I think the thrifted rug looks to fancy for your vintage style, but that’s me. You have to love it! I’m sure you will make the best choice for your space. 😀
I think that the new more subtle rug blends everything in the room beautifully. The thrifted rug seems to be the focal point in the room. Looking at the rest of your house, you seem to like a quieter touch that emphasizes your special finds. I personally get tired of large areas being the first thing you notice in a room.

Both! The thrifted rug is so inexpensive and beautiful. Use it as a seasonal change out to refresh the space. The new rug is just as beautiful with a more vintage look. if you were "willing" to pay for the new rug if you liked it better than you are really getting 2 beautiful rugs for the 600ish dollars and the ability to enjoy both since you like them both so much!

I love, love, love the thrifted rug. The other is more trendy right now. The thrifted is more rich and you can build around it with the money saved. I would put a few gilded pieces to match your frames and it would tie in your rug... also maybe a few velvety pieces....pillows or throw or runner on a table to reflect the rug. I would make the rug work somewhere if not there. 😊❤
Sarah I think the vintage inspired rug belongs in your gorgeous space . The thrifted rug is ok ,but in my opinion it isn’t large enough and the pattern is defined . I like an all over pattern . A rug can make or break a room and if you have the money , vintage inspired rug for sure . Good luck sweet Sarah .

I would keep them both....use the softer/muted new one in Spring & Summer, switch to the more dramatic/bolder one in Fall and Winter. (I did this in more than one room in my previous home)...now I've downsized, am re-modeling and no where near (lol) choosing rugs! Your room is lovely and I think you'll make the right choice for you. You have an "eye" for sure.

i really love the trifted rug, it is bold but gorgeous i think it blends beautifully with your other pieces and will tone some of the boldness down once your other pieces are added.
The vintage inspired is my choice. The thrifted rug is too "in your face" and detracts from your other pretty decor.

The first rug is dramatic and beautiful and a heck of a great deal, the 2nd one is quieter and will allow all your gorgeous collected pieces to shine! It would be great to save that $600 but I would go with the second one!
The money difference is the hard part, but I love the new one with everything you plan to decorate with. I have been looking at those rugs on Amazon and just bought one on prime days and saved so much money.
I like new rug…softer with your room. Better suited overall. Tough one, when other one is good deal. But, I’d pay for the new one.

To me the new rug fits with your esthetic and has a vintage look. The thrifted rug is a great bargain and really pretty but has a dated look to it more than a vintage look. I'm all for saving money too, so you could keep the bargain rug and live with it for a while then reorder the new one if you find you're not satisfied with the thrift one. You'd only be out $15. Just my thoughts. You have a great eye and will choose well I'm sure. 😇

I have to say I love the 2nd one so much better. You won't have to clean it and it is perfect. It is a good idea to keep the thrifted one and sell it to offset some of the cost of your dream rug.

Your $15.00 rug is your best choice I believe. It is very classy, rich & timeless. They never go out of style. I have one similar to yours that I bought years ago and it’s still looks new. It stood the test of time and wear and tear. Your 2nd choice does not look of the same quality as the first. I believe when you place all your treasures on the walls and on tables etc the rug will bring everything together. When you’re finished Decorating I believe all that enter will be met with the warmth and richness your room will exude. I believe they will be met with a spirit of peace and they will feel welcomed. Sometimes it is nice to just splurge on something special. 2nd rug is a great update for the space. The thrifted one could work for winter with coordinating accent pillows & soft chunky green knitted couch throw ... or in another room.

I like it. I have often cleaned my rugs the same way. I put them out on my driveway and washed them. You know the chairs you saw would also look nice with it... if you needed more chairs.
Thift rug. I would... put a splash of the green in the decor for accent pillows, throws and greenery on the book shelf. Also can pick another color out from rug to accent living space. Nice 👌

I usually don’t comment on much, but all along you said you were looking for something “vintagey” and the new one fills the bill. As a thrifter I understand how the thrifted rug can pull you in, but personally I feel the new rug has everything you said you were looking for. I’ve have learned (the hard way!) that a bargain isn’t always a bargain! Titus seemed to me as to “what???” Good luck in your decision! As you know, it IS your decision!!

This is a tough one. Both rugs are so pretty. If you keep the thrifted rug, you could add a few pillow covers on your couch in the dark green color to pull it together.
Oh yes keep that rug from habitat it is gorgeous. FYI buy a rubber floor squeegee it helps push the water out of the rug after you wash it.
