I'm not sure that's quite fair - the documentary highlighted how nearly all the people in the tiger business are cruel and controlling, and any former love and care they had for the tigers is long gone in the face of financial gain. Animals have instincts which developed during millions of years. Tigers can swim up to 200 miles, in a day. He doesn't even have pools for them to lay in. Lions have territories as large as Paris. Male lions walk all day. It's in their DNA. It's a terrible argument, to treat an animal badly & then say: Oh well, he doesn't know any different. Why not keep a human being in a small cage & do that? Matter of fact: There has been an experiment done with babies a long time ago. They wouldn't hold them nor caress them. Just feed them & clean them. They died, because humans need a bit more than just food & a bed. We need love & comfort, even if we have never experienced it.

Joe's wheelchair analogy had me choking lmfao
The Louis stare/pause is priceless
I searched this and it was posted 11 minutes ago , what timing !
I didn’t know he was a sheriff lol. It’s just like Reno 911.
Carol Baskin disliked this video.
04:21 I love Louis! All of his docs are incredible!
I love the concerned stares he gives joe when he says fucked up shit and asks him several times to show joes serious
"Can you miss something you've never experienced?" ................ interesting.
It's not natural for any living thing to be locked in a cage. Raised in captivity or not. Joe is dead wrong about that one
@Sarah Myers Sure, I agree with that.
When he said it I was just a bit taken aback that I would be presented with an question worthy of a philosophical debate from this guy.
It got me thinking how whatever environment we are raised in becomes our normal.
And I wonder if ignorance is bliss and the reason why everyone is so unhappy nowadays is because social media bombards us with images of lives and lifestyles that we can't obtain.
But yeah. So much of the stuff we do today will be looked back on with dismay in the future. Keep killer whales in tiny swimming pools for our entertainment, eating meat, homelessness & starvation. Sad that we can't even have nature reserves without people sneaking in and killing animals for their tusks and horns =(
Our society is still so primitive "/
@@jozefgurzynski7380 I definitely agree with you !
I’ve never had a million.. and I miss not having a million.
Imagine getting pulled over by Joe Exotic!
Mind blowing that he was a cop
Kristofer Krosby not really lol
Kristofer Krosby theres a lot of abusive gay cops
And a paramedic too lil
Tiger King didn't mention him being a cop ever
Wasn’t he a police chief ? Lord help that town
“ I don’t think you’re being serious” ...........“I don’t think you know me very well” 😂
He said "Can you miss something you've never experienced" My answer is Yes, i miss not having a house a car and a job.
But you know a house and job exist if you had no knowledge of what a job or a house was would you miss it? No. Do you miss a color you’ve never seen, someone born blind doesn’t miss vision lol God you’re stupid
You have no house, car, or job, but you have access to youtube and are watching shit about tiger king? Yeah right buddy.
In that case I miss being loved for who I am.
I so love Louie's whole demeanor. This is so great😅
This exotic guy gives me the creeps and I'm behind the safety of my screen
I found out about ligars on Napoleon Dynamite. I had no idea people were really into them like that.
People created them
They're not meant to exist in nature. Look up their lifespans n shiet it's sad
@@michelledelkel Yup. They have all kinds of birth defects. They had one named Patrick out at Shambala, until he passed on. (He was a rescue. They always are).
The way this guy just blankly stares at joe when he talks 😂💀
Most tv presenters don't stop talking ecause they are afraid of silence between people. Louie Theroux isn't.
I feel so sad for these animals. Nobody talks aboute that
The ones that lived are now safe at Wildlife Animal Sanctuary in Colorado. Of course, this was a while ago. If you know what to look for, these poor animals are miserable.
Isabella M Literally everyone talks about that
Why would we talk about your feelings about these cats?
The interviewer was literally talking about the animals the whole clip. Reading comprehension must not have been your strong suit in grade school...
Jay Moo Not reffering to the video
The way he’s looking at Joe Exotic the entire time during this video is priceless.
Louis is a proper journalist who with unassuming subtlety exposes these people for what they are whereas the Tiger King did no such thing and made this vile man and others like him a celebrity.
I'm not sure that's quite fair - the documentary highlighted how nearly all the people in the tiger business are cruel and controlling, and any former love and care they had for the tigers is long gone in the face of financial gain. It shows how welfare comes second to profit, and highlights the need for a proper law to regulate people being able to keep these animals in their backyard.
@@johnmartinez7440 If the series did as you say all those it featured would be hiding in shame but they are doing exactly the opposite, Joey Exotic is overjoyed and many others are cashing on the publicity they have been given.
I saw plenty of assumptions, but ok *shrugs*
@@tonyjames5444 I agree fully. The Netflix show told a 'story'. Louis, however, tries hard to just present facts and let the viewer decide. In my opinion, Joe AND Carol are both insane. I wouldn't actually want to be around either of them. It's funny how seemingly intelligent people will believe whatever is presented to them if it's edited cleverly. By funny, I mean depressing. Also, I like you.
@@SanDesigns Thanks liking you as well Sandy:)
One dislike - that from Carole Baskin?
😂😂😂 it must be
Second one is from jeff lowe i think
Fucking Bitch
Her husband
Carol Fucking Baskins... fucking byetch!
I'm sure Louis couldn't believe his luck when the story just became soo weird, nobody could have ever come up with it....
That wheelchair analogy definitely hurt his argument.
2:25 That's good, Joe. I like you.
2:50 Wait. I take that back.
"If your born in a wheelchair, are you sure your gonna miss walking instead of riding!?" 😂😭😂 Joe Exotic Logic!!! Legs are so overrated...
😂😂
But wouldn't you be curious how it feels to walk?
At his place of business... they ARE overrated!
A typical psychopath who likes to control and enslave people or any beings on that matter
@@wellofsevenph As someone who works with the disabled, I can promise you everyone wants to be able to do what they see as a normal function. Hilarious to hear him say though because he's dead serious 😂
He didn't euthanize them in the end when Jeff Lowe took over. he just wanted to keep Carole from getting them
He didn't give them to Jeff Lowe to save the animals, Jeff Lowe scammed him into signing the zoo over
He didnt care about the animals lol c'mon man open your eyes
Yea Jeff Lowe is a straight up con artist, swindled him outta the zoo then set him up for the murder for hire thing to get rid of him.
Everyone wants to defend this guy. Its like he cant do anything wrong. Abuse animals, threaten peoples lives, actually hire someone to kill another person, sell expired Walmart meat pizza to the public....etc. i guess rooting for him is just the "cool" thing to do. Im just glad these people rooting for him arent the same people in charge of this world.
He shot 5 tigers
Did anyone notice he said two chimps hung themselves lol???
I would too if I was being kept in a cage by a lunatic meth addict
Not really funny
Yes, from blankets they’d given them; they got the blankets and the monkeys torn them up, they then accidentally got tangled up in the threads they tore, asphyxiating themselves.
Amazing what editing can miss out. 😅
Amazing what freedom living in the wild can provide. No fucking blankets to get choked on in a confined space.
Come for Joe in2020, for Louis in 2022
4:28 that “WTF did I just hear” face
"You do know you're extincting the wild?" Joe totally missed that.
Queen FUPA apart of the ecosystem 😂
@Queen FUPA Queen Fupa doesn't get it 😅
You forgot the part where Joe shows Louis his memorial for his late brother. At that very single moment, I had a lot of sympathy for Joe
“Are you always like this or are you under a lot of stress?”
“Must’ve been pretty weird cop”
Hahaha this interviewer is blunt
Look up more documentarys from Louis theroux
Finding out that he was a cop adds an entire new element to this story for me lol

Sounds like Joe Exotic needs to learn about cats from Jackson Galaxy. The cuddle-RIP your arm off transition he explains is because the cats arent recieving enough mental stimulation and enrichment. Very sad.
idk shit about any of this but Stephen Universe should be thrown into the mix too

This is the edited version of the full 60 minute documentary, the other 55 minutes is Joe saying "Carole Fucking Baskin".
This really shows a side of him the netflix doc doesnt. Louis has a talent for placing himself as a neutral observer between his subjects and himself. He sets aside his judgements without ignoring them to create a relationship between himself and his subject. That allowed for an unusually contentious bond due to a mutual respect and fundamental disagreement
_"This is scary *This is scary*"_
Am i missing something? He seems like an awesome dude, using his life to help animals. As he said, these tigers are going to be released into the wild again thats awesome to me. Why are you hating on him?
Okay after reading his wiki page nevermind what i said hes sick.
Watch the documentry lol
Yeh I felt the same way but how he treated his husband makes me sick especially travis, rip travis
2:22 Unless your name is Carol Baskin ;)
Joe more likeable than most politicians still
Joe Exotic: people will believe anything they see on the internet
Also Joe Exotic: believe everything I say in my documentary you can only watch on the internet
That poor little guy with his nose rubbed down to the skin from trying to get out :(
0:16 Stock animal growl sound
Joe: “if y’all were born in a wheelchair... are you sure your gonna be happier walkin’... instead of ridin.... because you’ve never walked...”
Louis: 4:30
Phlora _ That is so sad and tragic to say. Poor animals
I watched this Louis Theroux documentary like a decade before Tiger King came out.
I predict this gentleman’s zoo will go from strength to strength and will be an example to other zoos on how to succeed and not court any drama
Can we have all of His docs in Netflix? Please!
They r.. or prime....I saw them the other day
U know what’s more scarier than a tiger or tornado ...
CAROL BASKIN
She never appears remotely upset when talking about her husband's disappearance and often laughs when she talks about it... bizarre
"can you miss something you've never experienced?" exactly this.
Animals have instincts which developed during millions of years.
Tigers can swim up to 200 miles, in a day. He doesn't even have pools for them to lay in.
Lions have territories as large as Paris. Male lions walk all day.
It's in their DNA.
It's a terrible argument, to treat an animal badly & then say:
Oh well, he doesn't know any different.
No dude this is fucked up
It's fucked up
“Are you always like this or are you under a lot of stress?” 😭
I wish Netflix shared the same content all over the world.
Theirs so much ignorance in these comments. Shame on all of you who want this man's sentence lowered.
indeed
Dude went to a lawyer who said, so there are no copies, you understand. 2 days later everything burns down. If we could see what was on there. nobody would let him outta jail.
Straight up shot the animals
