    You'll get to see the seeds of:

    Eugenia caipora
    Eugenia francavilleana
    Duguetia echiniphora ‘Bacabeira’
    Eugenia cerrasiflora
    Eugenia tinctoria
    Pouteria sp ‘Pao de Paca’
    Duguetia aff marcgraviana ‘Lucenilde’

    Mouriri guianensis
    At the end of the video I'll show you the germination station that my bathroom has become.
    I love growing unusual fruits out that I have never heard and then get to try them once they fruit. Many have never been grown in the US before. Some taste amazing and others insipid and awful.
    Let me know which ones you are growing and which ones are your favorite!

      Thank you! I need to do a few more of these, but I think my next video will be a yard update for early fall to show kind of where all of the seeds are from the past few years. Some are doing great and some are 6 ft under

    Using a spare bathroom for starting out seedlings lol, thought I was the only one. Nice seed haul, I got a few things from Joe last month and every species I got at least one to pop up. Now to figure out why Eugenia Angustissima sprouted but now growing at a comical snails pace.

    • @FancyPlants
      @FancyPlants  Год назад

      So awesome to hear! Isn't it the best feeling when at least ONE of everything germinates? Seeds can be finicky. As for angustissima, it's a slow grower. I think I included that one in my Eugenia video. It does speed up after a few years, but mine is also really slow. But so worth it since it's so pretty :)

    They look awesome and great video. Wish we could get some cool varieties like you here in the UK. I have imported a load of different seeds but the survival rate is low with short viability seeds😢.

    • @FancyPlants
      @FancyPlants  Год назад

      Thank you! You guys gave some great fruit over there as well! It’s hard for me to choose, so I may have to cheat and say my top 5 (for now), mango, jackfruit, abiu, certain dragon fruit (cause some are terrible) and lastly… fuyu persimmon… how about you?

    • @toastedvegemite9963
      @toastedvegemite9963 Год назад

      @FancyPlants yeh those are really nice! I've wanted to try abiu but it hasn't been available for me. I think my favourites are probably mammea americana, erdon Lee lychee and sumo citrus!

    Great vid I bought some fruit seeds online kaffir plum white Sopote Green Sopote cherimoya black Sopote etc do o have to soak them in water overnight or can I just plant them on seeding trays as is?

    • @FancyPlants
      @FancyPlants  Год назад +1

      It's going to depend on the age of the seed, and how long it's been out of the fruit, but I usually don't soak any seeds except Annona, and with those I use a GA3 solution. Otherwise, just plant straight into potting mix and put on a heating mat, that should do the trick.

    Does Hapa Joe ship internationally? And will seeds survive the trip if Priority Express shipping is used.

    • @FancyPlants
      @FancyPlants  Год назад +1

      It would be good to ask him. I know some of the suppliers do and some don't. It's best to have a seed import license if you can. I use my license to import from all over and have pretty good success, like over 75% so that's good.

      @@FancyPlants It's not really an option for me rn. I'm 18, South African and Broke. Our beaurocracy is awful and it will cost money. But I do know that Farewell Fruit Farm, Seeds Del Mundo, Tradewinds Fruit and RarePalmSeeds ship internationally. I'm planning an order with Farewell. What is their germination rate like?

  • @jackmoore1623
    @jackmoore1623 Год назад

    Where are your nutrients coming from?

    • @FancyPlants
      @FancyPlants  Год назад +1

      Great question. Since the seeds themselves store enough nutrients for the germination and a few days/weeks of growth, after I transplant them I start either using a super weak fertilizing solution, or put organic fertilizer in the mix, usually on top so it will percolate down as I water.

  • @geriannroth449

    Can you suggest some other good online seed stores for both exotic fruit trees & fragrant plants/ trees / vines?

    • @FancyPlants
      @FancyPlants  Год назад +1

      I did a video for exotic fruit trees, but since it's older, a few better ones have popped up but this is a great start: ruclips.net/video/s5G-HzJahak/видео.html As for fragrant plants and vines, TopTropical and Georgia Vines are great to start!

      @@FancyPlants What was going on with the seeds between the time they were inside the fruit and they got to the seed sellers in the USA is probably a bigger factor than what we do after we get them. Most of the time when I plant fresh seeds straight out of a fruit I ate, they all germinate quickly and look healthy. The exception would be if they're temperate plants and need stratification or something.
