  • This video is a walkthrough and guide on how to buylist Magic: The Gathering cards. Buylisting Magic cards is a great way to sell your cards and get value for ones you do not want or need, and turn them into cash or other cards. One of my favorite parts of buylisting is how you can get decent value for a lot of those commons and uncommons that normally sit in that booster box indefinitely.
    Now you can buylist Magic cards at a lot of different companies too, and I'd recommend going with whoever you currently buy cards through. If you don't have an online retailer then check out Card Kingdom. They are who I have always used and they have fantastic customer service. Yea... their prices are kind of crap. I'm a level 4 seller on TCG player, and after the 10% they take of my sales, I still make way more than what I'm selling. Granted, for bulk I'm sure this is ideal than holding onto it. I looked at a foil anime cyclonic rift, they sell on TCG for $115+ . . . Card kingdom was going to offer $66.
    Again for bulk, card kingdom probably worth it. But I do not list any cards for below 25cents because most ppl would rather pay 1.25 in shipping than comb through bulk in LGS for cheap cards and because TCG lets pro-salers have a store front at no cost to the seller, usually ppl add a lot of other items to save on shipping.

    Dang I’ve been through most of my cards and it’s all mainly bulk 😭😭😭

    • @MountainManMagic
      @MountainManMagic  2 года назад

      Now comes the process of finding what is not worth keeping and finding a school, library, or LGS that can use them and get them to kids who will be stoked to add any cards to their collection. I've probably given away upwards of 20 booster boxes stuffed full of cards thus far. I'm going to keep telling myself it was all money well spent 😂😭

    A really important bit of information is missing. How much do they charge for the service? If it's not a % or flat fee, then how much lower are they buying compared to TCGPlayer?

    • @MountainManMagic
      @MountainManMagic  2 года назад

      I'd try eBay or facebook groups if you're trying to sell a full deck - you most likely won't get full value, but would be the quickest way to move em.

    This is an AWESOME Video,... I was always hesitant about this, but I have SO MANY cards from Dominaria to the Current Set that i have been going through & keeping only 2 of's & putting the rest in a trade binder. It would be nice to not deal with hassling about trades cause prices are a little off.

      This is pretty much what I’ve done too. Got the cards I want to keep set aside and then the rest get buylisted whenever I get tired of organizing or handling them.

      No worries at all - when you hit submit order, you can either check your email or your account. On each sell order it will give you the address to ship the cards to CK at. If you can't find it, just email support and they'll help you out too.

    Hey, I was hoping someone could let me know if they give ANY credit for LP cards. I have a ton of NM and LP cards, so I was wondering if I could just send both at the same time and they'll sort them out from there? Thanks for any info!

    • @MountainManMagic
      @MountainManMagic  2 года назад

      Yes, you would not get as much credit/money for LP, but they will pay and show how they graded each card, which is very nice!

    How do you address buylisting smaller orders? For instance I have a few planeswalkers and relentless dead lying around I have no interest in but want to get rid of but the USPS boxes seem waaaay too large for the few cards I want to sell. #buylist

    • @MountainManMagic
      @MountainManMagic  2 года назад

      Great question - You can always try the envelope route, or padded mailed/smaller envelope for that. Not a bad idea, especially if you have some extra toploaders lying around. Still may cost more than you want to pay, but WAAAAY cheaper than the big ol' box!

    I have one question. Im thinking about selling some of my many cards. BUT... what if i do the buylist, send the cards and so on.... but in the end, the price they offer is diferent from what was expected, not for the conditions of the card, but because the price in the buy list changed.... the condition of the cards is something that i can imagine what it will be.... but the price that makes me decide to sell the cards is very important... so, what i need to know is: "does the price of the cart pointed in the webside buylist changes over time EVEN regarding closed lists already in progress?" (i know the price changes over time, but, if the price was 5 when ive made my list and sent in the mail, and when they are grading the buyprice drops to 3, will they pay the first 5 bucks that was offered at the time or will they pay 3 bucks now?)

    • @MountainManMagic
      @MountainManMagic  3 года назад +1

      When you buylist the cards you're adding them to your cart and then you "submit order." Once the order is submitted you get a confirmation email with the list of cards, the amount of each card, and the price CK will pay for each. So, even if the price drops after you sell those cards - it doesn't matter, because the order already happened. Then, you'll get paid or store credit sent to you once CK gets the cards and grades them (assuming they're all NM), and all the values are based on that order you submitted. Hopefully that clears it up!

      Exactly. You can keep saving up the store credit and then buy that dual land or whatever you got your eye on.
      You can also set alerts if the card you want isn’t available so when it is you can jump on it!

    So what do you usually put inside the box to prevent the cards from moving around in transit ? Like what kind of tape do you make sure the box you're putting the cards in stay shut if you put them into a fat pack container how much tape do you need to use ? Sorry for so many questions

    • @MountainManMagic
      @MountainManMagic  3 года назад

      I don't worry about the packages opening up in transit, because I do put enough around them that that's not possible.
      If I have any extra newspaper, junk mail, or packing from an Amazon package I'll use that to make sure the buylist order is secure. If I need more the post office often has enough unused magazines or whatever I need to fill in the gaps.

    Very well done video! I am no subscribing. One question - do you know the best place/way from Canada or whether it is worth doing it to CK from Canada?
    I have checked out a few buylists, and most sites have very clumsy/terrible buylist pages. (That Card Kingdom site looks nice!)

    • @MountainManMagic
      @MountainManMagic  3 года назад

      I know Card Kingdom ships internationally, but not sure how that impacts buylisting orders. I'm not sure if there are other taxes or fees put on international orders, but I don't see why you can't buylist cards as long as you can get them shipped to CK.
      Also, why you no subscribe? You should subscribe.
