    I like the way you show using the manual cutter and wet saw. I always forget about my manual cutter when I start using my wet saw on a project. Thanks Steve

    Masterful work as always, Steve. I'm guessing you didn't put too much force into those leveling clips since you still want some angle there right

    I thought that for large format tile best practice is to use a 1/2 inch notch trowel?

    How do you determine which waterproofing system to use? Ive seen you use pretty much all of them. Thanks for the video

      That’s a great question! And I will be creating videos on pros and cons of each. I typically recommend using Schluter or ordering a custom pan from kbrs if the drain is not centered. Otherwise Wedi is great for minor modifications and is certainly a faster installation. Stay tuned this month, I’ll have a lot more out, 👍

    Awesome job. I like the idea of large tiles less grout easier cleaning. Do you do any jobs in New Jersey? Thank you.

    Figured I’d ask: if you move a drain and then have to pour concrete back do you need to use rebar to tie the patch into the old concrete? Otherwise won’t the patch sink over time? Thx

    • @BathroomRemodelingTeacher
      @BathroomRemodelingTeacher  2 года назад

      I thought about moving it, but it was going to add at least 2 hours to the project. With the high strength concrete, I don’t believe you need rebar. Just ideal to be 3-4” thick. It’s tough getting info on what’s needed for larger patches like that. It’s a good topic, Ill do more research that one. 👍

    Would you use epoxy grout for wheelchair use. Thanks Steve. I have followed you throughout my Wedi Shower project. Appreciate what you do!!

      If your doing smaller tiles in the shower, 2x2s or similar. Yes epoxy would be extra insurance to everything. Will be like an adhesive between tiles. 👍

    I was picking my tile for the shower floor. The store sales person said I couldn’t use it for the floor due to the slope required. I asked him to just google large format shower floor. He came back five minutes later and said, yeah your right. I hate it when we know more than they do.

    Didn’t the tile wedges raise the tiles to level? They are supposed to be angled toward the drain. If you see what I mean.
