I GOT NEWS FOR YOU BUDDY!.....i hate you. ;) Jokes aside, this guy is nothing compared to what most political/news commentators, including myself, get on the daily. This video was just too funny to me, not to share. :)
I honestly don't think that dude in the red bandana is going to do shit to you Phil. He's just a 14 year old edge lord. He probably had to watch Mission Impossible to rev himself up just to make that video.
yes that bloody pokekeyman go is the devil and Stanley Kubrick is the executive producer of Pokekeyman Go. cause after all he was the one who apparently directed the moon landing.
Phil, I am a moderate conservative and I have to thank you. Because of you I learned about the Julius Caesar with the Obama character and I immediately stopped giving a shit about the play. It is fair play, if you do it with Obama it is fair to do it with Trump and the truth is, the moral of the play is something we as a country need to remember. I am annoyed by my fellow conservatives acting like fools. Ben is correct, let the play go, if people are there for the actual story, they will understand the moral, if they are there to see Trump die in effigy, they need mental help. We need to start compromising between the left and right, otherwise we will tear ourselves apart.
BelleDreamer7 love your open mindedness! So many people on both sides are always so quick to get angry over a simple subject that needs no anger but rather a quick minute to think about it
BelleDreamer7 I consider myself an Independent, but lean very much to the right. I never cared about the play, it is free speech, but violence is a total 'nother thing.
It's good that you always have armed security at events, because of the wide variety of things you talk about and how willingly you show your opinions it is completely understandable. Stay safe, and keep making some awesome content.
Okay so Julius Cesar is a play about Brutus, not about Cesar. Brutus as the main character loves Cesar and is completely torn by the idea of killing the man who is literally his mentor. He kills Cesar, because he is a threat to the Republic, by the end of the play however it's implied that the republic dies not because of Julius Cesar's attempts to undermine democracy, but by his assassin's inadvertent undermining of democracy. Brutus haunted by the death of Cesar gives in as Antoine and Augustus's armies close in and dies knowing that Rome must live on and in order for it to do so he and the other assassins must die. The play is not a story about how rebellion and violence against leaders leads to a positive outcome, it's about the ends not justifying the means. While I don't think the Trump comparison is even remotely accurate I think if some of these protesters who stormed the stage and some of the news anchors who complained about it on twitter actually read the play instead of just getting a stick suppository because of the optics of a president with knife wounds they might be able to appreciate the message the play was trying to put forth. Of course I haven't actually seen this version of the play, so it could be the only message they were trying to put forth was "Trump is evil, let's all go and kill him", but with a play like Julius Cesar, in which the title character is more or less martyred by the end of the play, I have trouble believing that's all they wanted to communicate. If they were trying to go that route I feel like Macbeth would have been a better choice. Just saying.
Kaija Schmauss I used to be a fan of Onision. Mostly for his blunt honesty. Realized that as time went on, he was too insufferable for me to deal with, and his advice tends to be rather poor.
Strangely enough, it was the fans of Do5 that upset me most at the time all of this was going on. I watched quite a few of the "Save Do5" videos, and they were all made by young males (average age seemed to be about 12-13), and several of them admitted to being abused in their OWN lives. I couldn't help but think that seeing other children being abused was somehow "cathartic" for them. It was truly sad - and there was absolutely NO reasoning with them.
Quantum Chaos watching movies about abuse, cancer, suicide etc can help sufferers and their families but no one is actually hurt. its upsetting that they would watch abuse to help them cope with there own instead of trying to stop the cycle
Looking at some faux-badass little kid in camo standing in a dingy, desolate yard who feels afraid to cuss? Yeah, doesn't surprise me that the fans are abused themselves.
sometimes I wonder if certain younger abused victims cannot see it as abuse, and see it as a joke because that was how they were brought up themselves- it's the norm for them, if they call it abuse their brain would have to deal with the shitshow of a fact that they're also being abused, by somebody who is meant to love them and take care of them.
as a theatre fan and actress, you NEVER storm the stage. you're interrupting someone's hard work and passion. almost like if you stormed the set of a news channel you don't agree with. It's tasteless, impatient, and childish.
LynxKITTEHGOD well that's a very violent response. And I'm not advocating for killing a president. I don't thin k violence solves anything. And either way, I don't think that's what the play is really trying to relay. I think it's taking a modern figure that we all know and making the play more to the modern viewers interest. more And that's what theatre is. it's to tell a story that the audience can get into.
LynxKITTEHGOD The only people who have a say in the show pertaining to who the characters are include the artistic director of the venue, and the director of the show. The performers on stage and the technicians who put their time and passion into the show are told what to do, they don't choose who each character is. To interrupt a performance in such a way is disrespectful to every single person who put that show up when they had no say. Could some of the performers/tech be against it, such. As a electrician i have hated many shows i have worked on. The problem is if they fight against it, they are replaced, and that is money you don't get. This is just as disrespectful as the man who plugged his phone into the set before Hand of God. It is ridiculous.
I just cannot understand how someone could threaten someone's life because that person made their favorite RUclipsr stop posting videos. These people are willing to commit murder on behalf of some random person over the internet. That's absurd to me.
our shitty younger generation are really impressionable compared to many in the past. these kids will go stalk their youtubers to find where they live.
Chris many generations have gone after their 'heroes' attackers, you can't categorically blame them. That is unfair, also what age bracket do you propose is at fault?
With the Julius Caesar play, I've said this before; Shakespeare's plays will always be updated to make it relatable to the audience. How many children/adults like Shakespeare or even understand it properly these days? This is not a direct threat or attack on a POTUS and will never be. As an actress, I honestly feel like storming the stage is too much. I highly doubt they would like it if someone stormed in on their place of work because of a piece they had reported on. If you want to protest, you're more than welcome to. But please leave that to outside the venue and outside the play itself.
They clearly don't realize or care how INCREDIBLY rude they were to interrupt it like that! It's like I said in my comment, I don't care how righteous you think you are, you DO NOT interrupt a play for any reason (excepting emergencies, etc). I'm not an actress and even I understand this!
Bruh this kid said "I hate you" how am I suppose to take you serious when all you say is "I hate you" 😂😂😂😂 reminds me of the kid who said "I don't Care that you broke your elbow".
The people who are upset about the Julius Caesar/Donald Trump look alike have absolutely no idea what the play is about. The murder of Caesar is in no way shown as a good thing. The lack of basic critical analysis is infuriating.
i agree. context matters. id be no more bothered if instead of the Donald trump lookalike, the queen of England or someone else was playing the role of Julius Caesar. It's art. I mean, everyone is entitled to their own opinion and everyone has the right to free speech but storming the stage and disrupting the peace and order of a play is clearly no protest or expression of opinion. It's basically "I don't agree with you so I'll do whatever i can to stop this." If you can't value other's opinions then i feel that you don't deserve to express your own. I get why people are angry about this but this is clearly not the way to go about this.
while that might be the point of the play, making the character specifically to look and act like Trump (along with his family) was unnecessary. If they had him look like any other regular politician, there'd be no argument against this kind of modern take. But you can't honestly believe that they chose to make this play in New York and show a man specifically looking like Trump getting murdered without enjoying getting to do so in the name of artistic freedom. should they have been shut down? No, but they knew they were making a statement with killing "Trump".
HrothgarXII Though I agree with you, the real issue is, not enough people care about context in this specific isolated issue. These people aren’t seeing it as an insightful look on the modern day through the lens of ancient history, they just see “play replaces julius ceaser with the president and kills him on stage thats nazi propaganda you liberal fucks”
Could we all just please stop the press for a moment and appreciate the fact that the dude filming the interruption in the theatre is shouting "GERBILS! YOU'RE ALL JOSEPHS GERBILS!" instead of "Goebbels", which is the historically correct character he's probably trying to allude to? Bless his tiny socks.
I want to see someone follow up this Julius Cesar production with Romeo & Juliet where the Montague's and Capulet's are extreme conservatives and liberals, and the message is basically how stupid and overblown it is for people to allow political views to divide us on such a deep level.
Storming the stage goes against free speech. Free speech goes both ways. You have a right to express your thoughts and opinions but this also means that you have no right to shut someone else down (in this case, the play) because you disagree with it. Free speech is about listening to the other side and letting them speak. These protesters did not do that. They interrupted the play, which to an extent is interrupting free speech and free expression.
Skylos Free speech has nothing to do with how citizens talk to each other. While I think those looney Trump supporters are idiots, it has nothing to do with free speech. That was just disorderly conduct. The only way free speech can be attacked is if the government does it. RUclips censoring videos, plays being interrupted, etc. have nothing to do with free direct.
This is the kind of stuff I hear from a lot of pro-censorship people. Newsflash buddy, whenever most people talk about free speech, they do not talk about it from a legal standpoint but from a standpoint on principle. Also, whether it is legally free speech or not, it's still wrong on a moral standpoint and we both know it. All you are doing by saying "lol you are wrong cuz free speech legally means this" is moving the goalpost. Also, when I now said censorship I meant people silencing other people, and not the strict legal standpoint, since I am assuming that will be your next reply unless I am explicitly explaining that, which most other people would take as a given.
I love that hater saying defranco is going down trying to look all scary and edgy. when hes hiding his own face because his scared he will be exposed to the public. how pathetic
How very _dare_ they oppose obvious and blatant child abuse, right?? Fuck that Defranco guy 😂 Those awful monsters should be ashamed, in prison, have no public following or support, and never be allowed custody of children again. What sick pieces of shit.
As someone doesn't support trump or clinton, but enjoys theater, Julius Caesar is the story of how murder is terrible. I think that as long as an adaptation keeps the message of the original, put in whatever characters you want as long as the story stays the same. I would call the production "murder porn" if it showed Caesar as trump and he did something that wasn't in the original and could only be done by the Donald, then it showed Hillary Clinton stabbing trump. That would be inappropriate. This? No. It is the story of how killing a leader kills the society. But maybe that's just my theater-loving bias.
The_Hoagie not just that, but virtually none of the news stations have covered that there was an Obama version, either by not researching, or more than likely on purpose
As an actor: ohhhh I hate those people that stormed the stage. Like gtfo. Do your protesting some other time- actors, crew, etc. work REALLY hard to put on a production and it's sooo disrespectful to interrupt a show.
Here's the thing about plays: If you don't like the message, you can choose not to go. The only thing that storming the stage will do is validate the biases of the very people you are trying to preach against. It won't help your argument, and will probably actively hurt it.
The same rules falls under Comedy clubs too. If you're going there, you better expect some offensive humor, and if you get offended and interrupt the show, you're no where in the right.
"You are all gerbils! You are all gerbils!" Good to know, we Americans still can't pronounce Göbbels and think that Shakespeare plays are Nazi propaganda....? Also, if you get offended by a 400 year old play; I don't think you really should be calling people you oppose snowflakes for being offended about equally stupid things. Just saying.
@Aditya Chavarkar small subsets, maybe. But #assassinateTrump was trending on Twitter for several days. It’s not a small subset of the left that makes threats. Johnny Depp threatened to assassinate hi. Madonna threatened to bomb the White House. Kathy Griffin posed with a severed Trump head. Threats are quite literally mainstream on the left
TheIcekilla88 It was so accurate! If he wanted to fake Alex Jones, he could make people think it was actually him. That's a lot of power for one man...
First of all I'd definitely recommend reading Julius Caesar, one of Shakespeares better plays. The very act of setting the play in modern times rather than the traditional Ancient Roman setting is clearly trying to send the message that the issues of the play are still poignant today. I think people have a right to protest it, but that protest shouldn't block or stop another person's right to free expression. It's a saddening sight to see so many people today trying to silence each other for having differeing views. The whole point of free expression is to ensure dialogue between two vastly different ideologies remains open.
Looking at America from the outside (I live in Australia) I really feel like so many problems would be figured out if everyone just like, calmed down. It feels like everyone just freaks out at every single thing that happens and immediately jumps to the worst extreme. (yes I know problems won't be magically solved by calming down, I'm just saying no one ever got hurt by people taking a second to breathe)
Emrad16 I feel the same. I'm Finnish and live in the Netherlands. AND JESUS CHRIST THEY NEED TO CALM DOWN! I've noticed how much of it is he said she said garbage. Many people of the African American community screaming about "the whites", the white ppl complaining about everything... They need to realize they're all American losers who need to come together and fix the wrong.
To be fair, if you aren't from the US, then the only people you see are usually the radicals (left or right) in the media. I'd like to think the average person is a lot more reasonable like Phil.
Emrad16 actually most people are moderate but only extremist get attention. It's like when there's a fight at school and everyone pays attention to that instead of going about their business
Right? He was acting like he was saying something so profound, as if it wasn't just the favorite phrase of all toddler's everywhere when they don't get their way.
There will never be a line, everything in life is a grey area. The only rational solution is to take things in a case by case basis. Also, hilarious Alex Jones parody.
I have no respect for people who rudely interrupt a play. There is so much work that goes in to putting a play on and it is beyond disrespectful and self indulgent enough to storm a stage because they believe they are more important and their opinions are more valid and important than anything being performed. Also the protesters are incredibly diluted thinking that they will make any difference at all. They paid for a ticket, got arrested, and did not stop the show at all. They aren't fighting the good fight and stopping injustice they are narcissists who want attention and credit for their opinions. The fact that the whole crowd boood and not one person cheered them I is telling. No one should donate for their legal bills, they don't deserve it and a small part of me hopes there is jail time even though I know that is unlikely.
In regards to the Carrie Fisher story: I've been living with depression for 13 years now and it was only last year when I was open about it. I received help and encouragement from those in my life, and I went and got medical help. It was definitely the best thing for me and I can only try and encourage others to be open too and get the help they need ♥ Stay strong.
Honestly hearing that you get worse threats then that is terrifying. Please please please please *PLEASE* be careful at vidcon. Edit: Your impression was great! I don't remember his name but that was hilarious!
Phil, I work with theatre productions that are open to the public, to see people storming the stage frightens me. Working with different types of actors and people for the past few years I know how much work and dedication goes into theatre productions. Being very close to the theatre life, I am worried for the actors and their safety. They are portraying their art, their character in a way that they were hired, and selected for, in short they are doing their job. If people know they will have an issue with it, then they can simply not see it. Or, they can calmly speak to the actors after the show and state their concerns. Safety should be a priority, for everyone involved. I applaud the group on how they handled the situations and were able to continue with the performance.
People have, and will hate the voice of truth. There have always been incidents where the voice of truth has been silenced. I've always been a fan of Phil for a very long time because he is the voice of truth and I will always be because his words are something I can trust and believe in without worrying about fabrication. Never stop being the voice of truth, the ally to the people. Mad Respect.
The fact that there was another production with a Barack Obama figure who was stabbed in the same or similar way (I haven't seen the play) makes me think that this isn't anti-Trump but just using what looks like a current President. To me, it was an attempt to be relevant over an anti-Trump message
ArkhamHero123 The president represents Cesar in the play. The assassination is never a good thing. it is always deeply regretted by the main characters.
it's hardly new to have political figures aped in a production of Caesar, the new thing is that Trump is a pure demagogue who has inspired fanatical support. You have to hold these kinds of lights up to demagoguery, and at the end of the day how many people would see JC if it didn't have a touch of sensationalism to it like this?
"storming the stage" is a no no, never acceptable to do unless its to actually legit save somebody about to be hurt or killed. I was against it for this, i was against it when left wing did it in colleges. Protest peacefully outside the event, do not block other peoples rights.
"We're gonna call child services on you, DeFranco" What? Almost all of Phil's Dadhood so far is online for everyone to see, and he seems to be a great loving father.
Sean Reinagel Exactly. He just needed to exercise his pipes to perfect his emphysema voice. If he did an entire video in the voice, maybe we could close out eyes and think it's actual Alex Jones.
i love how you break things down and open them up for a conversation. I appreciate that you don't "tell" me how to feel or what to think. You lay a story open and show all the pages and let me decide. Thank you!
As an actor, storming the stage is unacceptable. It's disrespectful, breaks the actor's focus, disrupts the mood of a theatre, and is just a dick move. Keep protests off the stage, especially in a professional setting such as Shakespeare in the Park.
Peyton Williams - While I agree with your comment...I have to ask what was the difference between this interruption and the interruption of a play by the cast of Hamilton to deliver a political protest message to then VP elect Pence? Why are the actions of these misguided folks any different or any less misguided than the actors from Hamilton? As an audience member that interruption broke the flow of the play and destroyed the quality of the production and to use your words was "just a dick move." However, most actors came out in support of that protest. Personally, I do not advocate any interruption of any theatrical production (especially if I paid to be there). I agree that both actors and audience members should keep their protests off the stage - I want to hear what the playwright has to say, I want to see the technical presentation, and I want to see the actors demonstrate their craft. We can discuss politics over a pint some other time.
Hello! I'm a time traveler from 2023! I have traveled back to watch the string of DO5 videos and I can't help but say this. I know the word "cringe" has lost all fucking meaning over the years, literally being used for everything nowadays to the point of it being cringy, but that fucking video of that dude with the red bandana threatening you, is literal cringe. Not the cringe that's thrown around nowadays, the cringe that makes every one of your muscles tense up and make you feel like wanting to do a double handspring off the Eiffel Tower. Like Jeeeesus Christ it sent fucking goosebumps all over my skin. Not because of fear, its because of the absolute cringe factor. Dude thinks he's a Neo but in reality is just No.
Anyone who gets upset about the Julius Caesar play obviously doesn't understand what it's about. I always thought the message was that violently removing a leader, no matter how noble or corrupt your intentions, will cause a power vacuum and thus destroy, or at least weaken the nation as other parties vie for power. The outrage around this is born of ignorance, stupidity and a lack of critical thinking.
UMannyPlus yeah a bit of cringe there lol. love Shapiro; he is my kind of commentator. maybe DeFranco can share the 2020 ticket with him(lol)... if DeFranco Googles him long enough to learn where he works
James Lantukh You obviously have it wrong I mean have I got news for you buddy I hate you. Edit I realised as I posted that my auto-correct changed news to Jew's wtf that is the best mix up I've ever had.
I love how you present your content in a way that either doesn't assume the watcher knows what you're talking about or the history behind it, OR you provide direction to find more information to get caught up with what you're discussing.
Holy guacamole, idk if you watched back your recordings between the cuts from like 6:55 - 7:30, but after that first little taste of a rough patch you really got Mr. Jones' accent and speech idiosyncrasies down, and really quickly too! Hilarious
Wind Walker lol what. Don't call someone a dumbass if you don't even know what the definition of 'impersonation' is. Here you go - impersonation: an act of pretending to be another person for the purpose of entertainment.
Why is it "disrespectful" for making Carrie Fishers toxicology report, but not everyone else that has unfortunately passed? If it can save the lives of others, I'm good with it. It could wake them up, and make them want to get clean! Because if it can happen to that person, it could happen to them. Never know!
That guy with the red bandana over his face, he’s like 30, condoning child abuse. Lord help that GROWN man! Btw, if they have a thing to flag the bad videos, then they would’ve done something about Logan Paul’s sick video....
I'm pretty left-wing, but for the past couple months I've been watching Ben Shapiro's show and I think he's honestly what I wish the right would be more like, I don't agree with some of the stuff he says, but he's consistent, he isn't a hypocrite. I really enjoy what he's said about the play.
Phil, thanks for pointing out that terrorism is not just a term associated with a certain group of people / religion, but it is important to recognize terrorism for the acts and crimes that was performed.
Tea With Tams I think you need to open a dictionary and look up the word. here I did it for you: Definition of terrorism in English: terrorism NOUN mass noun The unlawful use of violence and intimidation, especially against civilians, in the pursuit of political aims. ‘the fight against terrorism’ ‘international terrorism’ he didn't have a political aim? he's just a racist piece of shit out for vengeance.
Edward straka Actually I believe that's somewhat arguable. You're correct in a sense but I think that you can argue the guy did have "political" motives out of his hatred for muslims. also consider that most cases with muslims as the perpetrators go down the same way, and are terrorism.
His aim was just as political as any muslim extremist attacks. He wants all muslims to die. Groups like Isis want all non-muslims and muslims that associate with non muslims to die. It's the same thing.
Edward straka while I don't entirely disagree with you, honestly that was a pretty condescending bitchy way to approach that discussion :/ If you want to actually convince someone of your belief, I wouldn't suggest opening with a 'pick up a book you moron' mentality. btw I'm not trying to play moral god here, just giving a suggestion
As someone who had their family broken apart and their entire life ripped out from under them by a drug addiction, of which went on for even longer because of shame felt by the user and the bliss in ignorance mentality on the other side, it is important for people to be able to talk about these things. Especially because these things can be so complicated. Like, in our family's example, where the person became addicted because of drugs prescribed by a doctor after many surgeries, the stigma around "drug addicts" is so harsh and damning that in many cases people would let their lives spiral out of control before they reach out for help, and in addition the lives of people around them. One of the many sad things about drug addiction is that effects the people around you as well and because addiction is such a taboo subject, much of the problems get swept under the rug and never really get resolved. I feel like the sudden uproar in, "it's no one's god damn business" comments really do come from a place of frustration because fans do not want to see someone like Carrie Fisher, who they admire greatly, as a drug addict. But the point if the matter is, that she DID struggle with addiction, and very likely up until her very last days of life, and it's important to acknowledge that it CAN happen to her, and it can happen to anyone.
Huge respect to that Imam (wish you said his name), that amount of tolerance and restraint is so powerful. He didnt allow anyone to stoop to his level, showing that he and everyone there is above these attacks and wont allow these events to change them. I dont know if I would be able to do that in the heat of the moment...
evil is evil man. muslim, hindu, sihk(?), christian, atheist, etc. doesnt matter black white, etc. hate is hate and terrorist is terrorist. just wish that both sides pushed aside their preconceptions of the other and had discussions. but it doesnt happen. they say look what the white guy did. i say look what another crazy person did.
Jamison Jameson he's a better man then me. I wouldn't have been able to hold back my anger and emotions. Hopefully UK MSM talks about him to cool down the heated tensions between muslims and non muslims.
My opinion on the Julius Caesar play is that it's perfectly fine. Theatre is supposed to cause a discussion, much like your show does. It's art. I am a huge advocate for free speech, but peaceful protest is the way to go. Protest outside. Have people listen to you. Start a discussion. Storming the stage just turns people off from whatever they were preaching as well as causing huge backlashes in the public... and not in a good way.
got to say, this one jumped to all sorts of topics, but it may have been the best Philip DeFranco video ever in my opinion. Great job Phil, this comprehensive coverage that allows people to formulate their own opinions and encourages them to seek out other viewpoints and sources is exactly what the people of not only the United States but the world need in this day and age. Major respect.
My Takeaway from the Trump Julius Caesar Play is this: Now you have a prime example to argue whenever someone say clickbait doesn't do any harm - when many removes the context of the play itself, and dedicate most of the telling on punchy headlines such as *trump*, *stabbing*, *violent promoting play* and takes out the major context that is *the play and it's message* it misguide people and it'll be partially responsible if they do something stupid because of it Julius Caesar itself is a play about a bunch of people (the Senates) blinded and misguided by their own sense of justice that they ended up attacking the wrong guy (Caesar), they thought they're doing a noble heroic act, but soon they realize that they only damage things that matters to them (Rome) - IT IS CLEARLY AN ANTI VIOLENT MESSAGE, even if you do something wrong by normal standards for what you think is a noble cause, it doesn't change the fact that it's wrong and you might only doing damage to yourself which is sadly exactly what that woman did by interrupting the play - she was blinded by her own justice, thinking if she can provoke the masses, she can stop the play - or at least disrupt it - because she thinks it's horribly wrong - but I only see person not seeing the full picture acting on what she believes is right - just like the senates of Rome - i still think she did the wrong thing, i'm just trying to think how it became that way even if you think the play is horrible and wrong - doesn't change the fact that if you believe in free speech, you have to respect other's free speech too - not interrupting their exercise of free speech and shouting in their space
SEH221 It shouldn't matter what portrayal the character of Caeser is in this play, whether it is Obama or Trump the message is clearly pushing an anti-assassination message, which I feel is really needed in america right now concidering the actions of protesters like Antifa and the far left. This play is a work of art, and shouldn't be slandered for being modernized for the current year.
I watch The Defranco Fam channel also and when you were talking about the treats and how you have security, all I could think about is when the person broke into your home when you were out of town. As a mom those are the things that keep me up at night. How do you deal the all that pressure and stress? Having a family to protect must make it difficult for you to talk about certain topics sometimes...Love your show though. I'm glad you take the time to cover difficult things and that you're not bias. My husband and I watch every night!! And we are HUGE fans of the always adorable Trey!! Also at 32 weeks pregnant with 2 kids under the age of 4, I feel like Lindsey is my mommy soulmate lol
while I still think the kathy griffin photos crossed a line, my option on the play has changed several times since first hearing about it. I was originally one of the people saying the play went too far, but after reading more about it and even reading more about the play and story/history of Caesar, I find myself leaning more to the side of the actors and production legitimately trying to spread the message that hatred and violence will never be the right answer, turning the play into a more presently relevant cautionary tale.
A lot of the people who are angry don't know a lot about Shakespeare productions, i've seen MacBeth take place in World War I, Julius Caesar set in Cuba with Castro look-alike, Romeo and Juliet in LA in the 80s, etc. it's not uncommon to have an updated setting.
I'm anti-Trump but I would have to see the play to decide if I thought it "went to far." But no matter how far it went rushing the stage is wrong, mainly because it is dangerous. If we say one person has the right to rush the stage of a play, how can we say 2000 people don't? She was pro-Trump and rushed the stage to stop the play what prevents 10 anti-trump people from rushing the stage to stop her, and then 20 pro-Trump people from rushing to stop them, and so on and so on. That's not free speech that's the start of a riot.
I couldn't agree more. Like Trump or not, rushing the stage and screaming at people is messed up, stupid, and (like you said) dangerous. Personally, I think having a character dressed up as Trump and then stabbed to death is a bit much. I mean, I'm against him, but I think they may have taken it a bit far. I get that it's all satire or there may be a deeper artistic meaning, but in today's world somebody might see that and start to get bad ideas... That being said, the reporter had no right to rush the stage like that.
Mr. Divery ... *and that's exactly what BLM and ANTIFA and the Left in general do everyday!* ... they shut down speeches and incite riots with actual violence: what are your views on that? is it the same ?.. or worst?... Sorry but there is no Logic in your statements. *You consider a woman interrupting a speech an **_act of violence_** but people destroying private property and beating others **_free speech._*
FURANUKU777 are you fucking high? he's saying no matter what fuckin side you're on you can't rush a stage or anything for that matter. each side is fucking stupid and your statement isn't any more dumb than his. you pulled way to much shit out of your ass and went way out on context
FURANUKU777 The guy never said any of that... he never even called it an act of violence. The guy said that charging up on stage to interrupt a play was wrong, and shit, it was. They were arrested for it. I side with DeFranco in that let people say whatever stupid shit they want, so that you have it on record.
Punished? Hell no. I'm conservative, and hearing about this actually encouraged me to trot down to my local library to fucking reread the damn thing just so I can get some context. Sure, it's tasteless as hell, but it doesn't look like they're discriminating on which president. It's just that right now everything's up to eleven because people can't calm the hell down. If they did they'd realize that assassination causes more harm than good. I've got no problem with the play, it's the people refusing to take the time to understand, or. . .you know, to do what the people who put on the play obviously intend: To critically think about this shit. They are the people who need, and are, being punished. Being tasteless in America is not a crime. Trying to shut down the right to free speech, however, is.
I hate those two people for doing what they did! I don't care how right you think you are, YOU DO NOT INTERRUPT A PLAY for ANY reason, ESPECIALLY for the sake of political activism!!! It's INCREDIBLY rude to the cast and crew!! It's like if someone deliberately started a fire at a party they were invited to - you just don't do it.
I GOT NEWS FOR YOU BUDDY!.....i hate you. ;)
Jokes aside, this guy is nothing compared to what most political/news commentators, including myself, get on the daily. This video was just too funny to me, not to share. :)
Philip DeFranco first
DO5 and his fans can f*ck off. You did the right thing exposing and bringing attention to their abuse. You're a good guy.
Philip DeFranco you the best fuck everyone else DeFranco life
I hate you too :D but i love yo face :p
Philly D told said he hated me
I don't know about you
I feel damn special~
That "threatening" video didn't feel so threatening hahaha. Hella cringy, though.
'damn beautiful people'... Sounds like a compliment 😂
mrPanchiPan I got news for you... uh... I hate you
That guy is definitely going to end up on NeckbeardRPG
he sounds at most like a total pushover
I pity that guy. Must've been bullied regularly... by his parents.
DO5 fan: makes a video where he threatens DeFranco directly
DO5 fan: úploads it in a private group where DeFranco can't see it
You're right that guy is stupid AF 😂
Tess Courtes The epitome of an "Internet Gangster "
I honestly don't think that dude in the red bandana is going to do shit to you Phil. He's just a 14 year old edge lord. He probably had to watch Mission Impossible to rev himself up just to make that video.
Twisted Melody “I’ve got some news for you... I hate you.” Has me cracking up! Lol!
Or a sniff of bath salts for courage.........
He recorded that video on an IPhone.
We all know that he will kill us all one day
Oh god. Red bandana man hates you. YoU hAVe tO TakE DOwn yOuR ChAnnEL NOw
someone needs to tell the guy in that video his forest camouflage doesnt blend him into the trailer park hes standing in
"The same people who made Pokemon, faked the moon landing" LOL
so nasa worked with the japanese to make those human/animal hybrids...makes total sense now
Imagine in Alex Jones Voice: That's where the whole concept of Mewtwo came from, IRL human-animal hybrid clones carried out by lizard people aliens.
yes that bloody pokekeyman go is the devil and Stanley Kubrick is the executive producer of Pokekeyman Go. cause after all he was the one who apparently directed the moon landing.
Yes!! You put it perfectly.
BelleDreamer7 We need more open minded people like you. Thank you for being awesome :)
Daddy O' Five has fans?
Reality is stranger than fiction I guess
The Ace Of Spades little kids that think he's funny
The Ace Of Spades could say that about lots of RUclips channels. like annoying orange or Freddy or pewpew
Onision has a fanbase too. The internet is a strange place.
The Ace Of Spades they want to get spanked by their daddy.
Kaija Schmauss
I used to be a fan of Onision. Mostly for his blunt honesty. Realized that as time went on, he was too insufferable for me to deal with, and his advice tends to be rather poor.
"Damn beautiful people" has to be your intro next video Phil please! 😂
Evan Laleman 100% agree 😂😂
only if it's in Alex Jones voice XD
Unfortunately, that's why it's a cycle.
Looking at some faux-badass little kid in camo standing in a dingy, desolate yard who feels afraid to cuss? Yeah, doesn't surprise me that the fans are abused themselves.
sometimes I wonder if certain younger abused victims cannot see it as abuse, and see it as a joke because that was how they were brought up themselves- it's the norm for them, if they call it abuse their brain would have to deal with the shitshow of a fact that they're also being abused, by somebody who is meant to love them and take care of them.
how could you watch those do5 videos tho? there so bad.
as a theatre fan and actress, you NEVER storm the stage. you're interrupting someone's hard work and passion. almost like if you stormed the set of a news channel you don't agree with. It's tasteless, impatient, and childish.
Taylor Candelaria Yes, passion with pretending to kill a president. if that's someone's passion, they should go die themselves.
If I got the chance I would burn down a cnn building
Demon Killer that is terrorism
How dare you hate child abuse and point it out!!! It upsets the abusers!!!
Sammie Wren won't somebody please think of the abusers?!??
Sammie Wren *MY DAD WILL BE VERY TRIGGERED BY THIS*
'no one died, but they did have to blur out a dick' - Philip DeFranco 2017
Should be his presidential slogan.
I just cannot understand how someone could threaten someone's life because that person made their favorite RUclipsr stop posting videos. These people are willing to commit murder on behalf of some random person over the internet. That's absurd to me.
Of course criminals would defend other criminals
our shitty younger generation are really impressionable compared to many in the past. these kids will go stalk their youtubers to find where they live.
Cornflack Goes to show there are some really crazy people out there... 😞
Chris many generations have gone after their 'heroes' attackers, you can't categorically blame them. That is unfair, also what age bracket do you propose is at fault?
Chris there's a lot of old heads who used to follow famous people so it's not just the younger generation
All of this but especially the bit about storming the stage.
They clearly don't realize or care how INCREDIBLY rude they were to interrupt it like that! It's like I said in my comment, I don't care how righteous you think you are, you DO NOT interrupt a play for any reason (excepting emergencies, etc). I'm not an actress and even I understand this!
Dahlia Tonx I agree with you about Julius Caesar.
this channel is full of leftists, no wonder I don't like it
Honestly not sure why you're involving politics without making an actual point, but okay.
Bruh this kid said "I hate you" how am I suppose to take you serious when all you say is "I hate you" 😂😂😂😂 reminds me of the kid who said "I don't Care that you broke your elbow".
It does XD
Isis sending threats to journalists: just so you know...
(Leans in super close) I hate you.
The people who are upset about the Julius Caesar/Donald Trump look alike have absolutely no idea what the play is about. The murder of Caesar is in no way shown as a good thing. The lack of basic critical analysis is infuriating.
HrothgarXII but how is the play played out? did they change anything else besides Trump? Who replaced Augustus and Mark Anthony?
i agree. context matters. id be no more bothered if instead of the Donald trump lookalike, the queen of England or someone else was playing the role of Julius Caesar.
But the problem is that people will misinterpret it like umm terrorists misinterpret religious texts and might act on that misinterpretation.
LOL that guy threatening Phil can't even show his damn face hahaha what a CHILD.
Fuzion180 I know. Only pussies hide their face when making threats.
Fuzion180 I mean there can millions of people who knows who will dox him and that's not too cool
Fuzion180
It probably is a child. A child that has huge daddy issues, mommy issues, and has dreams of shooting up his school.
Yep, no balls at all. Must have been castrated when he was born.
Like Antifa but not as #edgy
Could we all just please stop the press for a moment and appreciate the fact that the dude filming the interruption in the theatre is shouting "GERBILS! YOU'RE ALL JOSEPHS GERBILS!" instead of "Goebbels", which is the historically correct character he's probably trying to allude to? Bless his tiny socks.
"Bless his tiny sock." Omg, lol! Yes, tiny socks.
Lol...tiny socks. I like you. Can we be friends? XD
You deserve threats, how dare you try to help children who are being abused, you MONSTER!!
Cory Armstrong 😂
Nice b8
yeah! stop being a good person! :P
Why am I reading the caps parts in Philips voice??? XD
that Alex Jones impression was immense hahaha
James Kingston oh hey James
Right?? I looked away when he started it and when I looked back in the middle of it I was like, "what?!" It was so realistic haha
suuuuuuuup
I want to see someone follow up this Julius Cesar production with Romeo & Juliet where the Montague's and Capulet's are extreme conservatives and liberals, and the message is basically how stupid and overblown it is for people to allow political views to divide us on such a deep level.
best premise
Ethameshep I'd watch that.
Ethameshep thank you for saying something intelligent
That's actually genius.
Take a look at this guy, he's on to something
You should start beginning every episode with *"Damn- Beautiful- People..."*
Or even better, "Sup ya beautiful child beaters"
Jonah Brown WTF i see you on destiny videos and now here? lmao
I love that hater saying defranco is going down trying to look all scary and edgy. when hes hiding his own face because his scared he will be exposed to the public. how pathetic
Roy and he wasn't wearing pants
Frank... I did not notice that, I had to watch that again to see and then I laughed my ass off.
Roy well yeah obviously fucktard otherwise he'd go to prison
someones a bit fucking mad. chill out a little?
Roy
and one of the things they are angry about is..
*gasp*
CUSS WORDS!
And i wouldve gotten away with it if it wasnt for that meddling defranco
How very _dare_ they oppose obvious and blatant child abuse, right?? Fuck that Defranco guy 😂 Those awful monsters should be ashamed, in prison, have no public following or support, and never be allowed custody of children again. What sick pieces of shit.
Laura Loomer felt so strongly about this play she wanted to protest, but not strongly enough to pay her own legal fees.
Nah its you being reasonable
Snorlaxation Why is it more than likely? I'm usually on the side that the media is pushing their narrative, though.
The_Hoagie hulk hoagie! I just got your avatar lol
That Alex Jones impression was actually so good
As an actor: ohhhh I hate those people that stormed the stage. Like gtfo. Do your protesting some other time- actors, crew, etc. work REALLY hard to put on a production and it's sooo disrespectful to interrupt a show.
I feel like these videos are getting progressively longer and I like it.
Luke Hougen James doesn't like it lol
That Alex Jones impersonation was hilarious!
I got news for you, DeFranco... I love yo face :).
"No one died, but they did have to blur out a dick." Sounds like those slo-mo guys know how to party :P
Here's the thing about plays: If you don't like the message, you can choose not to go. The only thing that storming the stage will do is validate the biases of the very people you are trying to preach against. It won't help your argument, and will probably actively hurt it.
Stark Raven and the fact that they bought tickets to be able to storm on stage just goes towards the production and paying the actors.
Stark Raven you also just thrpw your money away by buying the ticket
The same rules falls under Comedy clubs too. If you're going there, you better expect some offensive humor, and if you get offended and interrupt the show, you're no where in the right.
Stark Raven and they don't say it is donald it's just a look alike
Alex Jones' voice always reminds me of a man constantly turning into a werewolf.
Mighty Wombat hilarious!
I read your comment, then your name, now I can't unsee the last word as 'wombat'
...What the fuck, your impersonation of Alex Jones is so spot on and it's freaking me out.
Alex Elizabeth what impersonation? That's just Alex jones wearing phil's skin😮
"You are all gerbils! You are all gerbils!"
Good to know, we Americans still can't pronounce Göbbels and think that Shakespeare plays are Nazi propaganda....? Also, if you get offended by a 400 year old play; I don't think you really should be calling people you oppose snowflakes for being offended about equally stupid things. Just saying.
People aren't offended by the play itself they're offended by the depiction of the assassination of the current president lmao. There's a difference.
@@Jordan-bv7on you named three people and said “they aren’t small subsets”😂
I'm honored that you used my video as a source! I love what you do and I'm a huge fan!
Some Dumb American what video?
Some Dumb American it'd make sense to tell us which one it is
yeah it would make sense to tell us which video
Some Dumb American yeah, which video?
so? what video was it..
I AM DEAD, PHIL. THAT IMPRESSION IS ON POINT
RhiFoxx I couldn't stop laughing. 😂😂
it was funny but it wasn't on point at all :D
That Alex Jones impression was AMAZING
TheIcekilla88 It was so accurate! If he wanted to fake Alex Jones, he could make people think it was actually him. That's a lot of power for one man...
that's amazing!
Dats Amazing!
Emrad16
Same in Aus, to some extent. Politics was never really something discussed calmly, but christ, everyone just jumps off the deep end now.
That the US for ya.
Phil's impression was the funniest thing I've seen in a while.
Umm. Witty.
how that guy just slowly walked into the camera then came out with the shittiest insult ever of "i hate you" killed me lmao
Bellari So weak haha
Bellari lol same
Right? He was acting like he was saying something so profound, as if it wasn't just the favorite phrase of all toddler's everywhere when they don't get their way.
Bellari all I could think of is the video where the geeky kid says " you know what! I am gonna say it! I DON'T CARE THAT YOU BROKE YOUR ELBOW!"
Because that's the only thing edgy kids can do, hate
There will never be a line, everything in life is a grey area. The only rational solution is to take things in a case by case basis.
Also, hilarious Alex Jones parody.
this comment section is full of "I got news for you buddy I hate you" and I love that can this be a new meme or inside joke😂😂😂
New shirt idea!
A96oaye omfg yessss 😂
'I got news for you, BUDDY.....
...... I LOVE YO FACE'
lmao that threat was the cringiest thing i've ever seen in my life
Mafia Tacos, we all should fear for our lives because of that guy
Mafia Tacos you should be shitting your pants, that kids probably got an arsenal if weaponized autism at his disposal
He gets all the pussy, he is a badass ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°).
Ninja Girl Hence * armed security *
Hes had this channel long enough, behind the scenes hes not just a youtuber relying on the venues bouncers.
Nolascana n
Anybody who would go as far as to threaten somebody over someone they don't know personally and watch online, needs to chill.
Coolio L. Welcome to earth
that guy trying to scare you is cringe worthy.
LMFAO TRUE. He's like 13 go to bed ffs
"No one died, but they did have to blur out a dick"
WELCOME TO THE PHILIP DEFRANCO SHOW!!!!
To me, it was an attempt to be relevant over an anti-Trump message
max howard
I'm not sure how, but I still think that was a choice made to make the play more relevant to today.
max howard I mean, everyone but Brutus DID enjoy stabbing Caesar, so it sounds like the Trump play was more accurate, perhaps.
the problem is did they enjoy stabbing the fake trump or the fake representation of Caesar
6:50 - 7:23 made me oh so happy. I think you should keep that up every time you talk about Alex Jones. The kids and their Pokémon, I knew it!
"storming the stage" is a no no, never acceptable to do unless its to actually legit save somebody about to be hurt or killed. I was against it for this, i was against it when left wing did it in colleges.
Protest peacefully outside the event, do not block other peoples rights.
Same. I mostly agree with Ben Shapiro's statement that this is hypocrisy.
"We're gonna call child services on you, DeFranco" What? Almost all of Phil's Dadhood so far is online for everyone to see, and he seems to be a great loving father.
+Wildpaw, I guess you're right. We can't expect these shells of humans to be able have functioning thought processes.
Flamin' French Fri we should've let Natural Selection handle business :/
OMG PHIL UR ALEX JONES VOICE IS ON POINT
At first I was like its okay but as he went on I was like =O WHAT haha.
Sean Reinagel Exactly. He just needed to exercise his pipes to perfect his emphysema voice. If he did an entire video in the voice, maybe we could close out eyes and think it's actual Alex Jones.
Nicholas Kalkanis it's almost as good as Joe Rogan's impression
Right?! Its pretty good
I like to EAT CHILDREN
i love how you break things down and open them up for a conversation.
Peyton Williams as a fellow actor, I can't agree more. What the protesters did was just rude, plain and simple.
I really don't think Trump supporters care about professionalism or anything close to resembling respect unfortunately.
" you are all fcking girbils " LMFAO 😂😂😂😂😂
He was referencing Joseph Goebbels the Nazi minister of propaganda.
SamuraiMonkey80 oh okay still funny the way he said it
SamuraiMonkey80 it still sounded like he was yelling about those mice-like mammals some people keep as pets. :)
SamuraiMonkey80
It's been a while since I've heard his name pronounced but didn't that guy say his name wrong in the first place?
oh its hilarious cuz he was mispronouncing the name lol.
The people storming the stage probably made everyones night much more memorable. Bravo!
I love the way Phil entertains himself
I entertain myself....
Navon Myhand oooooo babehhh I get what ur sayin n I like it
um.. lady. we all jerk off! it's not that big of a deal
WAIT I JUST REALIZED WHAT YOU MEANT!!!! DISREGARD MY LAST COMMENT! IM SO FUCKING DUMB
I like being called a beautiful bastard it gives me a higher self-esteem😁😄😃😀
LIT AMVS same it's nice
LIT AMVS same
Me too 😂😅
Anyone who gets upset about the Julius Caesar play obviously doesn't understand what it's about. I always thought the message was that violently removing a leader, no matter how noble or corrupt your intentions, will cause a power vacuum and thus destroy, or at least weaken the nation as other parties vie for power. The outrage around this is born of ignorance, stupidity and a lack of critical thinking.
The hatred stems from their ignorance.
But it's not like modernizing a Shakespeare play is a new thing, so the outage is a little silly ^^;
Isaac Voth
thats like exactly what Cesar was about
I have endless respect for you because you make videos raising awareness to things that need attention but no ads so you get to the point .
Alex Jones impersonation on point XD
YOUR ALEX JONES IMPRESSION IS BANG ON 😂😂😂😂😂
another irish person yay ! 😁
It was spot on, I couldn't stop laughing.
Hey Phil, just wanted to say Ben Shapiro is with the Daily Wire, not the Daily Caller. Easy mix-up cool video :D
UMannyPlus Can everybody spread the word here and give Ben Shapiro his rightful nickname?: BIG BEN
Juan Silva source? (I'd pick Shapiro over DeFranco any day of the week... probably partly because I'm not the target audience of this show)
I love how you present your content in a way that either doesn't assume the watcher knows what you're talking about or the history behind it, OR you provide direction to find more information to get caught up with what you're discussing.
Honestly, perfect Alex Jones impression.
I laughed so hard at that.
viktorayy :D TURNIN' THE FREAKIN' FROGS GAY!!
viktorayy :D I know right? I think Alex Jones is a bit of a nutjob, but I do like his voice and charisma.
That Alex Jones impersonation killed me😂
Defranco, I've got news for you, Buddy...
You're doing good stuff man. Hang in there
Holy guacamole, idk if you watched back your recordings between the cuts from like 6:55 - 7:30, but after that first little taste of a rough patch you really got Mr. Jones' accent and speech idiosyncrasies down, and really quickly too! Hilarious
That Alex Jones impersonation though (;
Wind Walker are you serious?
He isn't wrong.
Wind Walker lol what. Don't call someone a dumbass if you don't even know what the definition of 'impersonation' is.
Here you go - impersonation: an act of pretending to be another person for the purpose of entertainment.
Wind Walker left a bad "impression" on this thread.
Impersonate/impression of. Kiiiiiinda the same thing 😉
Why is it "disrespectful" for making Carrie Fishers toxicology report, but not everyone else that has unfortunately passed? If it can save the lives of others, I'm good with it. It could wake them up, and make them want to get clean! Because if it can happen to that person, it could happen to them. Never know!
BrannRay CNN is isis
I thought the guy was yelling that the crowd was all Gerbils, Nazi Gerbils. That is a different kind of image
I'm having trouble coming up with a good Richard Gere joke for this can somebody help me.
That's what I heard as well XD and I was like: "But my gerbils are from Mongolia, not from Germany, do they have nazi's everywhere now?" :O
Well yeah because he can't pronounce "Goebbels"
PMW3 I thought he meant Joseph goebbels, he did most of the nazi's propaganda. (I realise it's a joke before anyone gets triggered)
I really enjoy what he's said about the play.
tehDmez I agree
Ben Shapiro is one the right's brightest minds, he really does influence the way I look at current events right now.
Ben Shapiro is so intelligent that it intimidates me.
Ben is smart, no doubt. But I don't like how he spins stories sometimes, or twists quotes to fit his agenda.
I love Ben
Phil, thanks for pointing out that terrorism is not just a term associated with a certain group of people / religion, but it is important to recognize terrorism for the acts and crimes that was performed.
Tea With Tams I think you need to open a dictionary and look up the word.
here I did it for you: Definition of terrorism in English:
terrorism
NOUN
mass noun
The unlawful use of violence and intimidation, especially against civilians, in the pursuit of political aims.
‘the fight against terrorism’
‘international terrorism’
he didn't have a political aim? he's just a racist piece of shit out for vengeance.
Edward straka while I don't entirely disagree with you, honestly that was a pretty condescending bitchy way to approach that discussion :/ If you want to actually convince someone of your belief, I wouldn't suggest opening with a 'pick up a book you moron' mentality. btw I'm not trying to play moral god here, just giving a suggestion
he does have a political aim his political aim is to remove Muslims from the uk
Personally, I feel in situations like Carrie Fisher's the info should only be released with the blessing of the family first.
Huge respect to the British people too. The amount of tolerance and restraint they've shown till now demonstrate that they never wanted this fight.
Jamison Jameson Mohammed Mahmoud
Kurt Barthalemu tolerating absolute intolerance. 10/10 Britain, GJ
evil is evil man. muslim, hindu, sihk(?), christian, atheist, etc. doesnt matter black white, etc. hate is hate and terrorist is terrorist. just wish that both sides pushed aside their preconceptions of the other and had discussions. but it doesnt happen. they say look what the white guy did. i say look what another crazy person did.
Jamison Jameson he's a better man then me. I wouldn't have been able to hold back my anger and emotions. Hopefully UK MSM talks about him to cool down the heated tensions between muslims and non muslims.
I have never seen a production of Julius Caesar so I believe that I do not have the right to judge any rendering of this play.
I love how all the death threats on YT always come from 12-16 year olds. Hilarious.
The Amazing Mohammed Cartoon and with covered up faces
The Amazing Mohammed Cartoon I apologize for the stupidity of my age group
Teen Otaku
I'm sorry but just... your name... I can't
well if a older person really wanted to hurt/kill someone ,and has a decent iq test score ,they will not fucking announce it so they can get caught
The Amazing Mohammed Cartoon they're always prepubescent dumb fucks trying and failing to look badass
My Takeaway from the Trump Julius Caesar Play is this:
Now you have a prime example to argue whenever someone say clickbait doesn't do any harm - when many removes the context of the play itself, and dedicate most of the telling on punchy headlines such as *trump*, *stabbing*, *violent promoting play* and takes out the major context that is *the play and it's message* it misguide people and it'll be partially responsible if they do something stupid because of it
Julius Caesar itself is a play about a bunch of people (the Senates) blinded and misguided by their own sense of justice that they ended up attacking the wrong guy (Caesar), they thought they're doing a noble heroic act, but soon they realize that they only damage things that matters to them (Rome) - IT IS CLEARLY AN ANTI VIOLENT MESSAGE, even if you do something wrong by normal standards for what you think is a noble cause, it doesn't change the fact that it's wrong and you might only doing damage to yourself
which is sadly exactly what that woman did by interrupting the play - she was blinded by her own justice, thinking if she can provoke the masses, she can stop the play - or at least disrupt it - because she thinks it's horribly wrong - but I only see person not seeing the full picture acting on what she believes is right - just like the senates of Rome - i still think she did the wrong thing, i'm just trying to think how it became that way
even if you think the play is horrible and wrong - doesn't change the fact that if you believe in free speech, you have to respect other's free speech too - not interrupting their exercise of free speech and shouting in their space
Oh and one more thing: Americans have this play taught in High School right?
Audie Liem I read the play my freshman year of high school. I also saw a modernized production of it that year.
His 'Alex Jones' voice is probably the best thing I've ever heard, ever.
I want Phil to make a whole PDS in Alex Jones' voice
while I still think the kathy griffin photos crossed a line, my option on the play has changed several times since first hearing about it.
Fuck that play
Kalam1ty Plays the Patrick Stewart version of Macbeth?
redsands1001 That too. I saw it in person about 5 years ago.
I'm anti-Trump but I would have to see the play to decide if I thought it "went to far."
But no matter how far it went rushing the stage is wrong, mainly because it is dangerous.
