Great Video. Seen these a lot of this lately and got the build it bug. Found the schematic and with a source for 6J1 tubes cheap i built one on one of my wood bread boards one evening using ugly hang in the air style. Part leads are full length so I can reuse them. Self wound coil around a sodastraw. Works ok but its a tough tuner with out a bandspread. Superhets are so much better but this was fun.
Just built mine. Not working. Checked all the solder, wiring, everything looks ok. There is no current on either the 9v or 6v line. No glow. I'm trying to troubleshoot but the filaments are not on the schematic and I've never troubleshot a tube circuit before. Any ideas?

Make sure the tube is attached tightly.
Start from batery to tube mesaure voltage, see where lose votlage, in bateri holder, wire, switch and other.
