  • Learn a little about Castle Farm - our family farm in the heart of the Kent countryside. Castle Farm has been in the Alexander family for five generations. We grow Lavender for essential oils, and also farm arable crops such as wheat, oats and barley. We grow our own pumpkins, the famous Norfolk Royal apple, hop bines for interior decoration and wildflowers. We have a herd of grass grazed cattle too. Our farm shop is open all year round!

You had me going, everything was so peaceful and I was sitting here sleepily wishing I could just come lay down in the fields and escape everything while lsiteing to the animals and the whisper of the plants and the trees as they talk..
I was smiling so big as you talked about being stewards William (one of my favorite terms) and then you popped my bubble of happy when you said you use herbicides on your lavender 😞
If you are selling your lavender for perfume and aromatherapy and also trying to create sanctuary spots, I encourage you to combat those weeds with other means than herbicides so you are not taking out the Butterfly food source and other issuse that arise with its use. especially when you are seeing such a rare specimen chilling out in your area of Zen..
( not to mention what you put onto those plants and into the soil, you put into the body of everyone who wears it, or breathes it through a diffuser etc..)
Other than that William, you have a lovely farm that already has me enchanted,,*grabbing my passport lol* Wonderful job on all of you for helping keep your familys history alive and what great growth from starting out with just a few cattle.., You are literally living the dream I imagined for myself when I was little, well one of them,...are we related I wonder lol...
Warm blessings to you and Crispin? Hazel, Caroline, Lorna, Thomas. and all the wonderful creatures sharing your space with you, as you steward to them William..

Why are some lavender much more bright purple than other farms? Is it because it hasn't fully blossomed yet?
