Wow.. These are incredible. I can't even imaging how much time this took from start to finish
Thanks!
My goodness, people don’t understand how much money is put into all the products to make these not to mention the time and labor of love. Absolutely beautiful.
You are so generous in sharing the entire process. Thank you so much and I hope your fundraiser went really well!
Thank you so much! I am looking forward to it. It's this Friday, March 18, 2022.
I agree and appreciate it.
I use skins a lot. But never thought of adding skins on tiles to peel off, thank you
Hope it works for you!!!
Fantastic and informative video. You nailed it!! Thank you for sharing your technique with us. I have a lot of works done on canvas and now I know what to do with them!!!! Thank you.
Thank you so very much!!!! That is a main good. Good luck!!!
You are a great teacher!
Thanks Mary!!!
Thank you so very much for teaching us how to do these beautiful glasses. Appreciate your talent and effort.
Thank you and that means so much to me!!!🥰
Those are beautiful! Definitely labor intensive and attention to detail is key but not difficult to do. I may be giving this a go! Thank you for all of the extra information included here.
They are a labor of love! But I love the reactions I get from people and they really are amazing!! Thank you and let me know if you have any questions!
Very beautiful Rhonda
I’m so impressed! These are amazing. Thank you so much for the detail. I’m going to try this for sure!
Thank you!!! I really appreciate the kinds words!
I love your blooms and creativity. Your instruction was so clear and easy to follow. Thank you, Rhonda.
Thank you so much Marcy!!! I appreciate it!
Hi Rhonda, I have made about 18 wine/martini glass blooms . When I applied my first coat of resin, the resin reacted to the minwax and is leaving an uneven smooth surface. Yikes! Is that normal and will a second/third coat of resin fix it?
This is wonderful. Thanks so much. It is a lot of work. Very kind of you to do this. Even for Fund raising. I hope you get the necessary Funds. This art work should be valued at it's right value. Beautiful.
Thank you, thank you thank you!!!
These are beautiful. Thank you for sharing all of your techniques
You bet and thanks for watching!
Thank you!!!
Thanks you so much for sharing your process. They are beautiful.
Thanks so very much! I love sharing my process!
Nice job on this video! The paint pen is a great idea. I went back to dipping because I couldn’t tolerate those white edges. It never occurred to me to paint them…DUH…. I put a small amount of resin into the divots and let it dry before dipping. The bloom transferred beautifully then.
Thank you so much!!! It means so much to me!
Thank you for sharing! Beautiful!
One of my favorites small pieces of art…in a glass. 🍷🥰
Thanks for sharing. I am so excited to try some for gifts for friends and family
Awesome!!!
Thank you so much for sharing your process. This is so helpful, and I think I like it better than dipping the bottom in a paint pour. Yes, it takes a lot of time but is so worth it.
Thanks you! I do agree a bit more time but defiantly looks better!!
WOW what a great idea. So beautiful
Thank you! I love them!
Wonderful work there Rhonda, so nicely explained, well worth the watch, thank you for sharing !
Thanks Monique!!! I appreciate it!
VERY cool!! Thanks for sharing!
🌻🌻🌻
You bet thanks!!!
Excellent tutorial. Thank you!
Thank you!!!!🥰
THIS WAS AMAZING! THANK YOU FOR SHARING
Thank you so much!!! I really appreciate it! 🥰🥰🥰
Your acrylic skins are GORGEOUS!!! I am late to the game, trying to create skins now. I'm struggling 😞But I've been trying them using flow medium and silicon. I've yet to make any skin worth using. I am about to dot down what you use and maybe that will help.. THANK YOU FOR INSPIRING!
I hope it helps. The paint under as a pillow is important to help peel them off a tile but if you use a silicone mat you can use any paint as the pillow or under the color paint! Good luck. Let me know how it goes!
Great info!! Trying mine tonight!
That’s wonderful. Tell me how it goes!!!
@@RhondasTriRRRtistry went great!! They are a hit!
That is wonderful!!!!
Beautiful. Great info!
Thank you!!!
Wow beautiful
Thank you! I appreciate that!
Wow what an informative video. Thank you for sharing your knowledge.
You are welcome. Thank you for watching!
Wow! This is awesome
Thank you!!!! ❤️🥰
I love how beautiful this project turned out... may I suggest a solution for the "white showing on the sides of the skins" ?
After you glue the two skins together and they are dry, PAINT the sides with a paint pen that match the edges. Then glue the skin to the glass. I hope that helps with the glasses you don't want to paint the edges. ❤
Thanks!!! I appreciate the idea!!
I hope it works...I plan to try it too 😊
Awesome. Beautiful
Thank you!!!
My cousin makes these too. She also uses the extra to make the little magnets too. Her skins aren't white on the bottom tho they are the same color when you peel them up so she doesn't have to put two pieces back to back like that. Why are yours white on the bottom. When you pour paint like that wouldn't it just be the same colors when you flip it over? They are very nice. Thanks for sharing.
It’s because I create these from a bloom technique and that has a pillow paint which I use white. So that’s why the bottom is white. Thanks for the idea about the knife as well.
This is fantastic! You are so generous to show us these details. Thank-you. P.s. I'm a Midwest girl now that used to live in Houston 😅
Thank you…that means a lot!
Amazing! 🤩 Really appreciate you sharing the complete process. This is so helpful.
I’m so glad!!! Thanks for letting me know!
What a brilliant tutorial Rhonda… thanks so much for taking the time to show us each step in detail. I enjoyed every minute of it and certainly didn’t fast forward, even a second!!
I learned so much and can’t wait to try it out myself! And, although it is a time consuming process, the idea (for me anyway) is to relax and enjoy every step.
I do have a question tho, if you don’t mind… does it not scratch the glass when you’re removing the resin from the rim of the glass? And do you think it would work by using some wet (very fine grit) sandpaper, and this would also be safer than using the exacto knife?
Thanks again for such an informative and fun to watch video!! You have yourself a new subscriber!! ♥️♥️🇦🇺
Thank you. You are so very kind. It makes me feel so good. So thanks!!! It does not scratch the glass. I’m guessing sand paper could defiantly work. Try it and let me know how it works. Yea. I’m very cautious with the knife but you are right it would be safer! I’m looking forward ti hearing if it works! 🥰
These are beautiful!! I'm just wondering if you needed more than one coat of resin to finish. Thanks again for the great tutorial!
Some of them I did one coat but a number of them I did two and one or two I ended up doing three. All depends on how much resin input on the glass the first time. Thank you for the complement!!!
Very nice. FYI if you use an actual exacto knife which is made for crafting it would glide and cut a lot easier and wouldn't slip. The blade on the utility knife that you are using is at a different angle than an actual exacto knife that is why it slips. Its made for deep cutting. Cutting through a box (not opening the taped seams but a plunge cut into the cardboard) or cutting through carpet. An exacto knife is at an angle to slice using the tip or edge like a razor blade. The glasses are very nice. Great work. Thank you for the tutorial.
Thanks for the idea. I appreciate it b
Excellent video re wine glass art. One question. How can used glasses be washed? By hand? Dishwasher? Malcolm
Thank you!!! They can be washed by hand in hot soapy water. They are not dishwasher safe.
Beautiful. Thank you for showing the entire process. Do you do one or two coats of resin? Do they stay level? Level, as in not being “tippy”.
Thanks! I do two to three coats. Depends on how they end up. They were not tippy! Defiantly level. But I made sure that my surface was level. Thanks for asking!
I would do that with nail polish and water by diping them in a basin
Cool!
Hi Rhonda, this is the first video of this sort that I have ever seen. I'm in love!!! Thank you so much for sharing. I do have a question though. Where do you purchase the skins at? These are absolutely gorgeous!!
Thank you!! I make the skins with the paint. The tiles I got from Lowe’s. After the paint dries I peel them. Creating a paint skin!
LOVED this video! My work table is plastic, and I often get sort of "organic" skins from the overflow that come up do easily. Some are quite large and I've been wondering what to do with them! I'll have to make some wine glasses and maybe some other dishes as well. Pie plates? Serving platters? Hmmmm. 🤔🤔
I love those ideas!!!!! I may have to try something!!!!
Let me know if you do end up doing something.
I just came across your video and these are beautiful! I've had the thought of doing something similar but wasn't sure the best way to go about it. Thank you so much for the details video. I was wondering if you could get one of those craft hole punchers, that people use for scrapbooking, to cut out the circles. I'm not a wine drinker so I'm not sure if the bottom of the wine glasses are usually a certain size.
Another suggestion, but I think it would take a little longer than the tape, would be to use liquid latex (the stuff they use for making different halloween makeup stuff. Paint that on the top part of the glass where you currently put the tap. Let it dry and then do the resin. Once the resin is dry, just peel off any overage that's on the dried liquid latex. I do this for when I need to dome my resin christmas ornaments. A little of the liquid latex goes a long way! Thanks again for sharing! Absolutely gorgeous!
I just realized this video was a year ago so you may have already heard about this tool. 🥰 I use a deburring tool to clean up any resin edges. I've cut my hand with a utility knife before and it's not fun.
I just used a Cricut and it worked amazingly. Way faster than by hand and more exact. I’ll have a video in that soon. I just hear about the liquid latex and bought some. I’m about to do 175 glasses so I will try it on a few too see how it goes. Thanks for the ideas!!!!
I really love your whole process💞I’ve watched before and haven’t tried it yet, I’m dying to find time to do it tho!! I hope the fundraiser went well✨
Thank you! The fundrasiner was a huge sucesa! Everyone loved the glasses! 💞
I very much enjoyed learning something new. I'm familiar with resin art, but, not so much the paint skins. What size are the tiles you used in this project? ... 9"x9"? ... 12"x12"? Do you purchase sample paints from Sherwin Williams? What was the brush you used?
Again thank you for the lesson. I'm finding it much more interesting to try & combine various art forms.
Thank you!!! They are 6”x6” glossy tiles. No I don’t just a gallon from Lowe’s. I just used a cheep paint brush. I try hard to save when I can. Let me know how things go for you!
these are gorgeous...thank you for sharing! Question...I live in Costa Rica and glue does not do well here...do you think using a small bit of resin would suffice to put the 2 skins together as well as adhere them to the glass?
Thank you!!!! I do think that would work!!! Try one and see how it goes.
I love these. I've never done anything with paint. Can you use chalk paint for the paint? I have so much of it from refinishing furniture. I'd love to try thus.
I’m really not sure about chalk paint but it’s worth a try! 🤷♀️ especially since you have some anyway. You might find a new way to creat these. 😜 let me know how it turns out if you do!
@@RhondasTriRRRtistry thankbyou
Hello beautiful,
This is a tip, if you heat de resin with your heat gun its easer to take it off.
Thanks...I thought of that just a few weeks ago...haven't tried it yet so thanks for the tip!!!
Thanks!
Thank you!
I just found your channel.... new subscriber! Great tutorial and beautiful wine glasses💕
Thanks for watching and subscribing!!!
Hi these are so beautiful. Small question… what type of glue do you use for glass ? I’m in the Uk so don’t know the one you used😀 thank you x
It is called Liquetex Gloss Pouring Medium - you could use anything as long as it is clear and thin...you don't want it yellowing or creating streaks you can see through the glass. Thanks so much!
These are amazing!!!!! Is the minwax wood conditioner water or oil based?
I’m not sure. I’m out of town so when I get home I’ll check for you. Thanks
Thanks for this tutorial! I love it! I was wondering what size of tiles those are and where do you get them? I’ve bought 4x4 tiles but am having a hard time finding larger ones. Also, where can I get a box of wine glasses?
Mine are 6x6. I got them from Lowes a hardware store. I brought some in the store but another box in line. I get the wine glasses from bed bath and beyond. The glasses I did for the fundraiser I purchased from a local awards shop.
They’re fabulous! Two questions… other than resin what else can I use? Also, you mentioned after you cut them from the tile you let them cure.. For how long exactly? Thx 😊
You can use mod podge and I was able to peel off the tile after 24 hours and sometimes a bit longer. For sure 48 hours. Then I let the skins set for about a week or so. Not intentionally but just because that was when I had time to glue to the glasses that weekend. So I think you can put them on just a few days after. My educated guess. 😁😜. Thanks so much!!!!
Awww I was hoping to see that whole wine glass finished but I guess I came to see the wrong video!
Sorry about that. I had the whole process of creating the wine glasses but not just that one particular glass.
Im so confused. Resin is mixed by volume nit by weight because part and part b weight different amounts. ?? Is this brand of resin different because Ive been doing resin and was told not to go by weight??
They are beautiful!
Sorry if I confused you…this is how I have been doing resin for four years, but I don’t use it except for my glasses and a few other items…so really not that often. If you are confused, I would recommend to reading the resin directions on your bottles. On mine it say one part of each…I am not an expert on resin…but this way has never failed me…HOWEVER when I read the directions maybe my perspective was thinking it was weight when in reality It could mean volume and I have never taken that into consideration. So thanks for brining that up for me. I will look into it. I appreciate the information and will really look at that next time I use resin. Have a great day.
Love this idea! Where do you get your organization's name printed on the glasses?
There is a local award shop that can get just about anything you want. The glasses were about $4 each with logos on both sides. I’m not sure what they would cost with out the logos.
Can a cricut be used to cut out the circles? Love this idea and excited to try. Also do you have a material list that one could just print off?
I haven’t tried a cricket but I thought of that too. I don’t have a material list but that is a great idea.
I just tried using the cricut and it worked great. You do have to have it on a leather setting to cut deeper and I have to cut over it a few time but it saved me a ton of time this year on a BIG project!!! Thanks for the idea!
Thanks for sharing your process! They are beautiful. How much do you charge per glass?
Thanks!! I haven’t actually sold any yet. For the most part I have made them as gifts and donations for fundraiser silent auction. The larger ones I would guess between $15-$20and them for the smaller ones the Organization bought them and I m donating my time but they bought materials. I would guess for them I would charge $10.
I love this video. Great job and everything is so beautiful and helpful as well. You mentioned the dishwasher safe modge podge. It sounds like this is a product that you feel would work well for those that don't want to use resin. Is that correct and if so are there any tips that you care to share in using this product? Thanks in advance.
I’m working on that and I will let everyone know if that works. Thanks so much!!!!
Fantastic tutorial! Thank you soooo much for your willingness to share your knowledge with all of us!! One question...at the end of the video there are a couple of stemless wine glasses. Did you resin those? I would like to do some for a friends bridal shower but I can't fathom how to tape it off so that the resin doesn't run down the side of the glass. Thanks again!
Yes! I do resin them and I taped them up but the resin got through. So I scraped a bit more. But I’m sure there is an easier way.
Oh and good luck tell me how it goes!!!
Does it peel off like that because you only waited a day? I tried to do it to a tile I've had dried for 2 months and it didn't work 😄
I had a number of titles I had complted that were sitting around for a month or so...and they worked...so I don't know for sure. Was the tile you used glossy?
@@RhondasTriRRRtistry It was shiny
Great video!! Where did you get the bulk glasses?
We got it from a local store. I’ll see where they got them and if I find out I’ll let you know! Thanks so much!
Awesome. Just wondering how they are washed after use. Meaning are they dishwasher safe?
Thanks!!! I have tested many product and have not found one that works. I recommend hand washing in hot soapy water. Super easy, sanitized and the bottoms still look amazing.
What kind of markers are you using
They are Arteza acrylic markers.
Amazing! What brand of paint pens do you recommend?
Thank you!!! I am looking for the best ones. Still testing. But if you look for some…make sure they are paint and not just markers. I made that mistake and they washed off. 😁🤷♀️
which resin were you using?
It is called Art Resin.
I wonder if you could cut the circles with a cricut.
I think you could. I’m going to try it. My friend has one and said I could try it.
question.. Are these Dishwasher safe if used with the Dishwasher MOD PODGE- is that applied instead of RESIN ? Thanks !
I have tried it and it’s not the same finish. But because it was dishwasher safe I did try it. I have had even the dishwasher safe mod piste gum up in the dishwasher. It depends on how hot your wash cycle and dry cycles are.
Thank you for the prompt reply ! I am so psyched to give this a go for a few friends' birthdays coming up. If they think my coasters were cool, wait till they drink their wine out of these!
You should wear a padded or leather glove
Thanks for the tip!
Does yhe paint peel off tile do you gave to use a certin paint for it to peel like you did
II used Sherwin Williams Semi Gloss Ultra White. I have used others and it doesn’t peel as easily.
Rhonda, thank you so much for sharing your technique! I am a wine lover and always wanted to do this. You have saved me so many steps! Thank you !!!!
So glad I could help!!!!
What makes the other side of the skin white?
It’s the white base paint I put on first.
Aka … Box Cutter. 😁
🤣😅😂🤣 yep!!! Thanks for watching!
I was told by ArtResin that you just measure by volume not weight
It’s a one to one ratio so it’s the easiest way for me. But thank you for the info. It’s always good to know more! 🥰
@@RhondasTriRRRtistry Yeah, totally get the one-to-one ratio and that is how I did it as well, but they were really specific that the 2 parts have different weights, so that's why you must use their product by Volume not weight.
Shouldn't use resin in that cold of an environment ..also thinking UV Resin on the bottom would be less time consuming and instantaneous hardening.
Thanks for the feedback. This was a year ago and it worked out great. The temp in the garage was well with in the directions of the product and I didn’t let it sit out in the garage. It was just funny to show all the gear. I’ve never heard of UV Resin. I’ll look into it however I would want to test the instantaneous hardening. Not sure that would be good or bad when I’m working with a number of pieces! But doesn’t hurt to try. Thanks again for the input and idea! 😃
Bonjour que mettez vous sur vos carreaux pour récupérer la peau ,sans qu elle se déchire ?
Moi , elle colle aux carreaux et ça s arrache !😭
It is the base paint that helps me to pealing off easily. But when the paint can’t come off I soak the tile in warm-hot water for a few minutes and this it peels off better. 😜
The paint I use for my base paint is Sherwin William semigloss ultra white in the red can.
I can’t get the paint off in one sheet any suggestions?
Put it in warm water for a few minutes, dry it off and then try. It may help.
M 15:20
Thanks
unfortunately not dishwasher safe
Yep that is correct. They can be washed in hot soapy water like with any other delicates…china. But it isn’t dishwasher safe due to the extreme heat.
My goodness, people don’t understand how much money is put into all the products to make these not to mention the time and labor of love. Absolutely beautiful.
Thank you!!!! 🥰🍷🎨
