Yeah… I’m a lowly Silver but the Amex Delta Platinum allowed me to make status. I only flew about 6 times a year but I figured I was playing their game. I would put $25K on the card (ensuring Silver) and then my flights would carry the rest of the way to status. I’m pretty pissed off that they screwed me like this. I was playing their game (rarely went to their lounge) and they still didn’t want me. I’m in Denver so I guess I’ll get a United CC now and flip the bird to Delta.
🟪 I like the AMEX Plat Bus but I won’t be moving to the Delta Reserve. I’d rather get at least 1.5 or 2pts through Chase or Capital One than spend my way to status on Delta. Love Delta business class though! ✈️
FYI, this was true when I was trying to redeem the certificate myself on Delta website. I got frustrated and called a Delta agent and to my surprise she was getting way more available options on her screen that what I saw trying it myself in the website. She was able to book my first class tickets right there for me. I am still wondering why the website wasn’t working probably. Anyway, ALWAYS call a Delta agent if you are having issues trying on redeeming the certificate yourself.
Is the business reserve companion different than none business card? I know the regular reserve now has central America and the Bahamas has an option for travel. Is it the same on the business?
When you upgrade to Delta Reserve, do you get immediate access to the sky lounges but if you want to bring a guest, there’s a waiting period (after Cardmember Year)?
Just like the arrival lounge access changes that we proposed and changed, I could see the outrage from folks forcing a change to this rule and it either reverts back to unlimited or they bump up the number of visits per year
I'm curious to see if they still feel the need to keep these restrictions and rollbacks once the status' expires for all the folks that retained it over the last few years. They should have the internal data on this though.
I noticed that delta choice benefits for 2024 now offers an amex statement credit of $200 for platinum status and $500 for diamond status so debating upgrading from business delta gold to business delta platinum or reserve. I also use delta personal platinum card. So mixed on upgrading my business delta card. Any opinions?
I have Amex plat business, most of my spending is on this card and I want to get the delta business reserve card for status, upgrades and companion. What are your thoughts? Is this a good idea?

Yeah I'm on the same boat..i fly enough and spend enough for silver medallion. Now that is out of reach there's no need to keep the reserve

Maybe if SkyMiles were worth a ton more with flights originating from the US, it’d be more appealing for me

Companion ticket is great if you plan ahead. The fare code is pretty restrictive so close in almost nothing available.

@@Leoprieto74 Yes you get some good ones sometimes. They also sometimes ticket RUC's incorrectly and give you the upgrade for free.
This was the one reason why I downgraded my Delta Platinum because it was so hard to use the companion certificate.

This is dirty on deltas part especially to us loyal customers. I fly 15 - 20 times a year and have a reserve, bye bye delta.

For 2024 status, it's still MQMs+MQD. 2025 status is MQD only with requirements changed. I covered it more thoroughly on the main channel @asksebby.
