definitely. I think kol most of the time has really good power scaling takes, as controversial as that might be. but when it comes to shanks? forget it. Personally I don't even see a solid reason to put shanks particularly above someone like Kaido, he might even be weaker than kaido tbh, he's just a yonko level dude, and we've never seen him actually fight. The instant Oda revealed Mihawk's bounty to be relative to Shanks' it was over. It was clear throughout the entire series that Oda was setting up Shanks and Mihawk to be relative, and the bounty reveal was the straw that broke the camel's back for me.

Zoro and Sanji aren’t portrayed as RIVALS? They aren’t fighting against each other to test who’s stronger. They act like brothers and get into heated arguments, but that’s it. Zoro has the dream of becoming the STRONGEST SWORDSMAN OF THE WORLD! Sanji wants to find the all blue. These two dreams couldn’t be more different from another. One is power driven the other is based on creativity and the love for food and cooking. Sanji will never be as strong of a fighter like Zoro, because he doesn’t want/need to! And that’s ok! I don't understand how we wank Shanks so hard, but we downplay Mihawk( The rival to Shanks) and Blackbeard(the man who scarred shanks with no devil fruits.) Shanks is wicked strong and top 3, but the gap between Shanks and everyone else isn't gonna be as massive as everyone makes it out to be. Because Blackbeard scarred Shanks with no devil fruits and he was younger, plus Shanks is missing an arm since fighting Blackbeard last. Now, I'm not saying Shanks hasn't gotten stronger, but Shanks had rivals who have gotten much stronger since he feuded with when he was younger. Blackbeard has 2 devil fruits since he scarred Shanks. Kaido is still above Shanks to me, but the gap between Kaido and Shanks isn't massive just like the gap between Shanks and the other major Yonko isn't as massive. However the admirals don't look too amazing after Egghead and Akainu is the only hope for that agenda.

Mihawk seems like he mastered armament haki and is someone who is just as dangerous just in a different area and that is swordplay. Kaido is stronger due to his durability, endurance, pure strength, having advanced conquerors, and his versatility with his devil fruit. I do have Shanks barely over Big Mom.

Rayleigh doesn't have a devil fruit, speed blitzed Kizaru pre timeskip and has COC and is a legendary swordman. He ain't getting caught by the Devil Fruit catching technique. He'd see Blaakbeard's attacks and counter them with Haki. At that point its a battle of who can take more hits.
The fact remains that when it comes to Mihawk it is very unclear how powerful he is, there is a lot of references to his lack of achievement in Marineford but I don't really see the motivation for Mihawk within the war especially with Sengoku previous surprise of him attending the shichibukai summons as well as the later information of him being the Marine Hunter, as for Kaido's mythical top 5 dead or alive, it could be as simply as that he never fought Mihawk hence his mission from the list. But I do think there is clear feat that Mihawk (admittedly yet to be confirmed) which is that he most likely turned Yoru into a black blade which in my head canon means he has a mastery of swordsmanship & armament haki comparable to that of Ryuuma the sword god as that is the only other permanent black blade with seen in the story so far which I take that he is at very least a step over Oden in terms of mastery which would mean he is at least capable of hurting Kaido. I think the way the story is going, Mihawk like Shanks & Blackbeard will be amongst the final players have serious strength and I think Oda-sensei will most definitely ensure to reflect his power level accordingly.
Haki is a big part of swordsmanship if shanks was that far ahead mihawks swordskill wouldn't make a difference you lot are clowning believing anything different, same with blackbeard vs Rayleigh if it were a low diff in blackbeard favor he'd have taken the fight not backed down like he did. True. In order to be a great swordsman, you need haki. Mihawk himself told Zoro it's a shame to have nicks on your sword (therefore, coat your sword with haki). And I find it so strange that guys like kol say shanks has better feats (so far, only two - conquerors zoom call, and divine departure), but here's the thing - divine departure is a sword skill, and since shanks glazers concede Mihawk's swordplay is better than shanks', it stands to reason that the divine departure on kidd also counts as a feat for Mihawk, and given that his sword skills > shanks, then Mihawk could also do the same thing but better.

Simply not true. Mihawk was respected enough in verse that the entirety of Marineford stopped to watch his attack. Literally no one in the One Piece verse questions whether Mihawk should have the title. It's a casual fact to them that he is the World's Strongest Swordsman. If you asked anyone in the One Piece verse "who is the strongest swordsman alive?" you wouldn't get a political answer like "Well Mihawk has the title but Shanks is overall stronger due to haki". You would unanimously get one answer: "Mihawk".
First one is a terrible example and the second one is horrendous headcannon about Doffy. Mihawk never bothered fighting Blackbeard or anyone on his crew, even the ones we know for certain he'd take out quickly. Shanks on the other hand came with his entire crew and directly approached Blackbeard threatening him. The two are way too different to compare. Even if Blackbeard viewed Mihawk as stronger than Shanks, an entire fresh Yonko crew is just simply a bigger deal.

Most of the community doesn't understand Mihawk narrative position in the plot itself, they think that cause Luffy is the MC that means that Shanks being one of the people he wants to surpass must be stronger. But they are missing out on the fact that Luffy wants to not only go beyond Shanks but even the Pirate King himself. I feel that Mihawk is currently equal very much Shanks at the moment and that does not ruined the plot of Luffy at all, mainly being Luffy will surpass all anyway. If the current Shanks is able to defeat the current Mihawk in the story that would make Shanks the strongest swordsmen in the world not Mihawk (Yes Shanks is a swordsmen). But that isn't the case, people don't understand that it would be a complete disservice to Zoro's dream narrative wise, Oda will never write such a cheap play in this regard. Am very much aware that this isn't Zoro Piece and Mihawk being Shanks equal in strength will not conflict with Luffy being the MC. Zoro only wants to surpass Mihawk and once that is done he has achieve his goal, but again Luffy is going beyond that. Is also very strange that people put something like swordsmanship in a completely separate category or one of it contributing to overall strength, when One Piece power scaling is so nuance. Oda has never written in the story one is more skilled then the other but not stronger then such, in-fact he has used both in conjunction literally meaning the same thing, he doesn't have time to go through all the technical details in power scaling especially something like skill or overall power. Another good example will be Zoro himself, if skill is a one of the category that makes up the overall strength of a combatant. That would mean that current Zoro will need keep increasing his skill when he finally confronts Mihawk. But never once has Zoro ever in the story refer to leaning a new sword technique to be stronger or beat his opponent, No all he ever does is be better in overall power. His latest battle with King is a prime example. He literally learn advanced COC to win and make his swords technique stronger with it.

People placing Hawkeye so much further bellow Shanks is crazy at worst they should be evenly matched. People associate Notoriety = Power just because shanks has clout and influence within the world / world government doesn't equate to him being stronger then Hawkeye. Outside of his recent chapter as far as power scaling goes and the non - cannon film red Shanks hasn't showcased any more the Hawkeye has in the series outside of "Divine Departure" & an impressive Haki feat in the end of Wano. We've never seen Hawkeye go all out in a fight and as a matter of fact haven't seen Hawkeye fight since Marineford where in the series Haki was still a fairly new concept (narratively) which is why we didn't even see White beard showcase any Haki himself (although it was surely there) it wasn't properly represented. As far as Notoriety goes Hawkeye has stated he just wants to live a quiet life. Hence why he's hiding behind buggy in Crossguild.

The reason that mihawk has a lower bounty is because shanks has a whole grand fleet and he’s a yonko. Mihawk is a formal warlord who is apparently an “underling” to buggy. If Mihawk had a grand fleet I’d argue he’d have a higher bounty

The main problem, as always, is that OP powerscaling is completely broken because of how Oda writes. That being said, I do think that there are more reasons than not to think that Mihawk vs Shanks is an extreme fight for either of them: *Both are similarly built (even though physical appearance is not 1 to 1 in fiction, you can have skinny characters that are stronger than bigger characters) *Both are around the same age *Both are swordsman *Both only have their skills, physical stats and haki (no DF). *Both are 100% human (at least that we know, so no special ability related to another race) *Both excell at observation (Mihawk's title "hawk eye" / his first draft title "Clairboyant") (Shanks's extreme future sight) Considering all that, Mihawk has two arms, and Shanks only one. Mihawk has a black blade, Shanks does not. Mihawk is better at swordplay (even though I personally don't value that a lot because sword skill is non-existent in OP, Oda never specified what constitutes "sword skill"). Shanks most definitely has better Conquerors than Mihawk. So none of them have a HUGE advantage over the other, at least from what we've seen till now. It's NOT like Shanks has Akainu's fruit, or Mihawk has been stated to rely only on regular swordplay and does not have haki. Both should be around the same level.
Also, the video starts by saying that Zoro needs to seriously catch up to current Luffy, which I do agree with, current Luffy is BROKEN! But take into consideration that an OLD Rayleigh scared a Yonko in his prime. Think about it like this...the Navy knows exactly where Rayleigh is. They know the island he lives on and still never pulls up on him. They could surround the island whenever they want with troops but they know better.
What Shanks did to the Kidds pirate, Mihawk did is as well in Romans volume towards Don Kreigs fleet with a single slash. If they duel often back the , that means theyre on par. Pretty sure Mihawk has kings haki and the same observation as Shanks, thats why their duel always ends up in a draw.
If Shanks was that much more physically dominating than Mihawk, Mihawk wouldn't be viewed as the strongest swordsmen. The Marines know Shanks fought Kaido before arriving at Marineford, yet the Marines still view Mihawk as the greatest, that means to them fighting Kaido isn't outside of Mihawk's paygrade. Mihawk's title as World's Strongest is the only one that holds significant narrative weight, therefore that's the one we need to take the most seriously.

I don't understand how we wank Shanks so hard, but we downplay Mihawk( The rival to Shanks) and Blackbeard(the man who scarred shanks with no devil fruits.) Shanks is wicked strong and top 3, but the gap between Shanks and everyone else isn't gonna be as massive as everyone makes it out to be. Because Blackbeard scarred Shanks with no devil fruits and he was younger, plus Shanks is missing an arm since fighting Blackbeard last. Now, I'm not saying Shanks hasn't gotten stronger, but Shanks had rivals who have gotten much stronger since he feuded with when he was younger. Blackbeard has 2 devil fruits since he scarred Shanks. Kaido is still above Shanks to me, but the gap between Kaido and Shanks isn't massive just like the gap between Shanks and the other major Yonko isn't as massive. However the admirals don't look too amazing after Egghead and Akainu is the only hope for that agenda.

Mihawk seems like he mastered armament haki and is someone who is just as dangerous just in a different area and that is swordplay. Kaido is stronger due to his durability, endurance, pure strength, having advanced conquerors, and his versatility with his devil fruit. I do have Shanks barely over Big Mom.

Rayleigh doesn't have a devil fruit, speed blitzed Kizaru pre timeskip and has COC and is a legendary swordman. He ain't getting caught by the Devil Fruit catching technique. He'd see Blaakbeard's attacks and counter them with Haki. At that point its a battle of who can take more hits.

The fact remains that when it comes to Mihawk it is very unclear how powerful he is, there is a lot of references to his lack of achievement in Marineford but I don't really see the motivation for Mihawk within the war especially with Sengoku previous surprise of him attending the shichibukai summons as well as the later information of him being the Marine Hunter, as for Kaido's mythical top 5 dead or alive, it could be as simply as that he never fought Mihawk hence his mission from the list. But I do think there is clear feat that Mihawk (admittedly yet to be confirmed) which is that he most likely turned Yoru into a black blade which in my head canon means he has a mastery of swordsmanship & armament haki comparable to that of Ryuuma the sword god as that is the only other permanent black blade with seen in the story so far which I take that he is at very least a step over Oden in terms of mastery which would mean he is at least capable of hurting Kaido.
I think the way the story is going, Mihawk like Shanks & Blackbeard will be amongst the final players have serious strength and I think Oda-sensei will most definitely ensure to reflect his power level accordingly.

True. In order to be a great swordsman, you need haki. Mihawk himself told Zoro it's a shame to have nicks on your sword (therefore, coat your sword with haki).
And I find it so strange that guys like kol say shanks has better feats (so far, only two - conquerors zoom call, and divine departure), but here's the thing - divine departure is a sword skill, and since shanks glazers concede Mihawk's swordplay is better than shanks', it stands to reason that the divine departure on kidd also counts as a feat for Mihawk, and given that his sword skills > shanks, then Mihawk could also do the same thing but better.

Mihawk was respected enough in verse that the entirety of Marineford stopped to watch his attack. Literally no one in the One Piece verse questions whether Mihawk should have the title. It's a casual fact to them that he is the World's Strongest Swordsman.
If you asked anyone in the One Piece verse "who is the strongest swordsman alive?" you wouldn't get a political answer like "Well Mihawk has the title but Shanks is overall stronger due to haki". You would unanimously get one answer: "Mihawk".
First one is a terrible example and the second one is horrendous headcannon about Doffy.
Mihawk never bothered fighting Blackbeard or anyone on his crew, even the ones we know for certain he'd take out quickly.

Most of the community doesn't understand Mihawk narrative position in the plot itself, they think that cause Luffy is the MC that means that Shanks being one of the people he wants to surpass must be stronger. But they are missing out on the fact that Luffy wants to not only go beyond Shanks but even the Pirate King himself. I feel that Mihawk is currently equal very much Shanks at the moment and that does not ruined the plot of Luffy at all, mainly being Luffy will surpass all anyway. If the current Shanks is able to defeat the current Mihawk in the story that would make Shanks the strongest swordsmen in the world not Mihawk (Yes Shanks is a swordsmen). But that isn't the case, people don't understand that it would be a complete disservice to Zoro's dream narrative wise, Oda will never write such a cheap play in this regard. Am very much aware that this isn't Zoro Piece and Mihawk being Shanks equal in strength will not conflict with Luffy being the MC. Zoro only wants to surpass Mihawk and once that is done he has achieve his goal, but again Luffy is going beyond that. Is also very strange that people put something like swordsmanship in a completely separate category or one of it contributing to overall strength, when One Piece power scaling is so nuance. Oda has never written in the story one is more skilled then the other but not stronger then such, in-fact he has used both in conjunction literally meaning the same thing, he doesn't have time to go through all the technical details in power scaling especially something like skill or overall power. Another good example will be Zoro himself, if skill is a one of the category that makes up the overall strength of a combatant. That would mean that current Zoro will need keep increasing his skill when he finally confronts Mihawk. But never once has Zoro ever in the story refer to leaning a new sword technique to be stronger or beat his opponent, No all he ever does is be better in overall power. His latest battle with King is a prime example. He literally learn advanced COC to win and make his swords technique stronger with it.

People placing Hawkeye so much further bellow Shanks is crazy at worst they should be evenly matched. People associate Notoriety = Power just because shanks has clout and influence within the world / world government doesn't equate to him being stronger then Hawkeye. Outside of his recent chapter as far as power scaling goes and the non - cannon film red Shanks hasn't showcased any more the Hawkeye has in the series outside of "Divine Departure" & an impressive Haki feat in the end of Wano. We've never seen Hawkeye go all out in a fight and as a matter of fact haven't seen Hawkeye fight since Marineford where in the series Haki was still a fairly new concept (narratively) which is why we didn't even see White beard showcase any Haki himself (although it was surely there) it wasn't properly represented. As far as Notoriety goes Hawkeye has stated he just wants to live a quiet life. Hence why he's hiding behind buggy in Crossguild.

The main problem, as always, is that OP powerscaling is completely broken because of how Oda writes.
That being said, I do think that there are more reasons than not to think that Mihawk vs Shanks is an extreme fight for either of them:
*Both are similarly built (even though physical appearance is not 1 to 1 in fiction, you can have skinny characters that are stronger than bigger characters)
*Both are around the same age
*Both are swordsman
*Both only have their skills, physical stats and haki (no DF).
*Both are 100% human (at least that we know, so no special ability related to another race)
*Both excell at observation (Mihawk's title "hawk eye" / his first draft title "Clairboyant") (Shanks's extreme future sight)
Considering all that, Mihawk has two arms, and Shanks only one. Mihawk has a black blade, Shanks does not. Mihawk is better at swordplay (even though I personally don't value that a lot because sword skill is non-existent in OP, Oda never specified what constitutes "sword skill"). Shanks most definitely has better Conquerors than Mihawk.
So none of them have a HUGE advantage over the other, at least from what we've seen till now.
It's NOT like Shanks has Akainu's fruit, or Mihawk has been stated to rely only on regular swordplay and does not have haki.
Both should be around the same level.
Also, the video starts by saying that Zoro needs to seriously catch up to current Luffy, which I do agree with, current Luffy is BROKEN!
But take into consideration that an OLD Rayleigh scared a Yonko in his prime. So I have faith that PRIME "World Strongest Swordsman & Right Hand of the Pirate King" Roronoa Zoro is going to be EASILY Yonko level at that point.
Shanks and Mihawk's character portrayal difference is just so wide, and that's what ultimately makes me put Shanks a lot higher. Cope all you want, but to me character portrayal and significance means everything.

Think about it like this...the Navy knows exactly where Rayleigh is. They know the island he lives on and still never pulls up on him. They could surround the island whenever they want with troops but they know better.

If Shanks was that much more physically dominating than Mihawk, Mihawk wouldn't be viewed as the strongest swordsmen.
The Marines know Shanks fought Kaido before arriving at Marineford, yet the Marines still view Mihawk as the greatest, that means to them fighting Kaido isn't outside of Mihawk's paygrade.
Mihawk's title as World's Strongest is the only one that holds significant narrative weight, therefore that's the one we need to take the most seriously.
