    Dude, thanks so much for making this video. I have a Trek Checkpoint ALR5 2021 and have been on Tailfins website nearly everyday just admiring and looking at what I know are top quality products but never had enough motivation to pull the trigger and buy what I clearly want/need and pretty much torturing myself everyday. Now that i've seen them fitted to your setup its got my juices flowing and i'm finally gonna start my jouney with the aeropack. Great video and hope to see more of this setup.

      1000% worth it! You won’t regret it, such great products and love using them on my bikes. Even the top tube bag and frame bag I have been moving between bikes and so handy to have when on a ride. Which aero pack are you going for?

      @@DanEscapes Awesome to hear and I cannot wait to get it installed. I ended up going for the alloy rack w/ pannier mounts, and the axle mounting because I think the quick release mechanism seems like it would suit me best. I've went for the AP bag instead of the fitted bag as I think being able to take the pack off the bike to stash in the tent for me is a must have feature. Again thanks for making the video it's just what I needed to see.

      @ yeah that’s a really good set up. My friend has that one and really good feature that it is easy to pop off. I still need to buy the extender for mine and the thru axel mounts as they were sold out when I bought mine.

    Works for me as a pillow - wont cost you anything in £, weight or space and worth a try - large car sponge or similar & thanks for the review.

    I really love your taste and style always so chic. My faves would be the luxrul leather backpack and the Swarovski pave diamond ring so gorg. Thank you for your recommendations.

      Why thank you! Could go with Ostrich leather duffel and a gold chain. Anytime!

    Hey! Is it carbon frame? Why didn’t you go with their axle mounts for the aero pack?

    • @DanEscapes
      @DanEscapes  3 месяца назад

      It is a carbon frame. Wanted to go with the axel mount but when I bought the pack it the axel I needed was sold out. Will definitely be picking it up though.

    Which sized frame bags did you get? Im about to buy the 1.1L top tube bag...but I also like the pairing of the lower frame bag too.

      I went for the wedge 2.7l bag, really good and even use it on my road bike. Might get a half frame bag if I’m going to do a big trip.

    Do you have the extender? It sits quite high, maybe because you used mounts instead of thru axle?

    • @DanEscapes
      @DanEscapes  4 месяца назад

      When I ordered the extender and thru axel were out of stock. When I decide to order the front bags will order them. Would prefer to run the thru axel mounts as don’t want to ruin the frame especially doing gravel riding.

    Dan, I have the checkpoint as well. I'm curious which liter model top tube and frame bag you went with?

    • @DanEscapes
      @DanEscapes  4 месяца назад

      Hey! Great bike! I have a size 54 frame, I got the 1.1l zipped top tube bag. Recommends that size for all bikes. Was originally going to go for the 1.5 but only recommends for mtb. For the frame bag I went with the wedge 2.7l, fits perfectly. Definitely will look at the half frame bag for longer trips. Will use their measurement system on the web page to figure out which size. Hope this helps.

      @@DanEscapes Thanks, Dan. I ride the size 54 as well. Have you had any issues fitting a phone in Tailfin’s 1.1L bag with other items? My current top tube bag is 0.8L and I have to lean my iPhone 13 mini to be able to zip it closed. This limits what I can actually carry in the bag. Just curious with your experience. I printed out the frame bag sizing tool but haven’t used it yet. I liked how the 2.7L wedge fit the 54cm frame so I may just order this one.

      No issues with the phone fitting in the top tube bag, I had my phone (iPhone 14 pro max) and snacks in the top tube bag. The wedge pack is great even for day rides, can keep a rain jacket in there and a lot more. Would look at the half frame bag for longer trips.

    nice review, could you please throw me a name of your tail light mounted on the arch? I'm struggling a little finding light compatible with my aeropack

    • @DanEscapes
      @DanEscapes  3 месяца назад +1

      Thank you! I’m using a bontrager light and they do a GoPro mount attachment for it. As I have the bolt mounts on the tail fin just screwed it on to that. I know tail fin have now got an attachment to screw to the back of the bike that mimics a seat post which might be good.

    Clearly the rear rack system is the best thing available, but, oy the price! I got rear rack that detaches from the mount bracket. That seems like a much better option because you can easily detach the bag and take it with you instead of carrying the whole bag and bracket. But, why no panniers? Seems like a waste to have those mounting brackets and no bags. I have 10 L bags for each side. Like the week after I bought them they came out with 16 L bags,

    • @DanEscapes
      @DanEscapes  23 дня назад +2

      I was going to get the rack system but cost got me. Was cheaper to buy the built in version. I haven’t found it that hard taking it on and off the bike though. I will be buying the pannier bags at a later date, when I have some bigger trips planned that’s when I’ll get it, for now I don’t need them yet. That’s annoying they came out with the larger bags. I really like the look of their handle bar bag aswell and they’ve now released a full length top tube bag. I’ve constantly got my frame bags on when I ride, so handy to carry everything.
