I have the feeling the 4K shots would also be amazing if you'd get rid of the active stabilization (and therefore the exorbitant amount of crop) and run them through Gyroflow or Catalyst. The shots that you created seem really really good with the help of the lens!

Yeah, if you come across an animal looking like that you should assume it has rabies. In any case, it's probably gone by now because animals don't survive long in the wild in that state.
I did not sell the a6600 yet after upgrading to the a6700. The animal eye detect in video in the ZV-E10 is the same as the a6600 it works ok for dogs and cats (which is intended for) the a6700 is on another level in subject tracking having exclusive birds, cars, planes modes. And inside those modes you can select if it looks only for the eye or if it reverts to the body and it works really great. Cars have “face” too it will recognize from the side the “body”, if it identifies headlights it will change to a smaller box in this area.

Yeah, I seriously doubt that if you are planning to do any kind of vlogging. The ZV-E10 is the GOAT for a $600 camera.... Those older cameras also won't have the gyro data that the ZV-E10 records for gimbal like footage shot handheld.

I've always been taught to be extremely weary of even seeing a raccoon in the daytime. Generally, one of the few times you'll see them out in the daylight is if they're rabid. That, or maybe starving/injured. Kind of the same thing with coyotes, if you see one in the day/alone, something is wrong.

I have the ZV-E10 and it has a great image quality but without that EVF it's useless for tracking anything. WHY won't sony make one to fit the hot shoe? I know they did it for one of the earlier camera's
I had a “pen cam” in 2000 and the footage looked just like this and never made sense 😂 record limit 8 seconds

Great video and I definitely agree about that. Little camera .The Sony zv E10 has been the best selling camera on Amazon US at least for the past three years. As much as people want to dog on that little camera, you can get better images than some of more expensive cameras easier. It’s an entity all in itself in value . I have a7c 2 replaced the a7c . And still for some reason grab that Sony zve10 for photos and videos and I find it easier to set up for videos and the color is good 👍🏻. Just imagine if Sony would put decent stabilization in a camera built for vlogging you would think that would be the first thing that you do &add 10 bit color an electric EV accessory. Golden with all the lens selection, but we can dream. I think it’s only dogs and cats with the animal eye tracking.
Maybe with the ZV-E10 mark 2... ;)
I've tried a6700 + 200-600 + TCx2 and I don't recommend that, optical quality drop along with diffraction kills whole idea. TC1.4 is probably max that should be used with aps-c.
That rolling shutter looks like a cheap 2006 web camera. I feel like Sony should have really used a faster reading sensor or at least let you switch to a pixel binned mode like Canon does.
These clips are nauseating. I can't believe the rolling shutter is that bad. Wow.
The ZVE1 does well for wildlife, but I have to strap on an eyecup on the LCD.
This is just more proof that if you don’t have a 5k budget, you will always be a hobbyist 😂

With Nikon you can the focus box, point it at a brid, hand over to 3d tracking as nnd now it's tracking the bird across the entire frame

These clips are proofs of concept that a Sony APS-C camera would work for your wildlife footage, if you pick the right one.
It's also proof it would be a downgrade over what I already have.

@@littleidols Obviously, the Sony ZV-E10 isn't the right camera for wildlife. Everyone knows that. That's why I wrote "proof of concept" because despite the camera difficulties, the Sony APS-C footage looks good. If you consider the A6700, for example, people actually use that for birding and wildlife.
Just buy an Olympus OM-D E-M1 mark II used for $400 and now you have 4k with IBIS. Oh and an EVF.

A nice walk outdoors is a good way to start my day. Given no EVF, you did a pretty good job. The rolling shutter is a bit much, though.
I think that's davinchi stabilization not rolling shutter (only watched a few seconds of the vid)

The ZVe10 is a great option for a tiny budget. It's really a good option for streamers or content creators who will use it on a tripod. But trust this rolling shutter effects is so strong you can't use it for professionnal work if you track somebody with handheld. 😅
Sounds like inexperience.... Because Catalyst Browse cleans up the rolling shutter a lot.
Bro seriously ? It's a huge waste of time if you have to do it for every shot. And time is money. This is why I use my FX3 as A cam and ZVe10 only for B cam during Itvs.
Just hope zve10ii uses 26MP faster readout sensor.
Hummmm, I don't know...I recentelly shot a whole wedding with the zve10. 80% of footage was 4k 24p with sigma 30 1.4 and 20% in 1080 60p with kit lens.
90% Handheld. 10% gimbal.
Just using the strap around my neck. The footage turned out ok, yeah some problems, solved them in catalyst and good to to.

The zv-e10 is APS-C and it doesn't have IBIS. The size of the mount is not the problem here. 1800mm handheld video is the problem. 🤪🤢
Standard profile DRO Auto is nice. I’ve been using S-Cinetone +5 Saturation 0 - +3 Black Level (your preference) as a straight out of camera look lately and it’s nice on skin tones more than Standard.
Racoon may have had early rabies as it makes you hydrophobic so you can't drink, and it would also explain why a nocturnal raccoon is out and about during the day.
OH really. thats the best combo, got beautiful wildlife shots with this combo. Activate crop and stabe... additional zoom. Nothin beats it for that price. Save $$$ on body and invest in better glas, what Ive done.
Oh yeah since you are against cages. Get the smallrig one - the grip is amazing. And get the powerbank mount. Pop a 10000 mAh quick charge powerbank on it. Unlimited recording time. Also the sunny hood for your display helps alot in sunny weather.

have you ever tried a gimbal head on a tripod for these long zoom shots, I appreciate you like to travel light especially when you are on foot or travelling around, but it might be worth a try if you could find a way to work it into your kit.

ZV-E10 is wonderful except for the lack of ibis.
Gyro data is smoother than the best IBIS I've seen.
you can try using catalyst browse , the zve10 video has gyro data to stabilize with that program. ( im not sure if works in 120fps mode)

You need a non-travel tripod with a bulky fluid head for hyper-telephoto videos.
No, just good lens stabe would do it. Fuji, Panasonic, Nikon, Olympus all very capable handheld.

Seems like for those reaaally long shots you might want to use a tripod to help stabilize the footage :)
For wildlife you need A6700 & 200-600mm, (+ tripod, for pro results)!

Tripod? Monopod? Third party eye piece (they exist)? That's how you land those nature documentary jobs! ;) Impressive results from the lowly ZV-E10. Maybe try the a7CR... got a viewfinder and you can get into APSC mode with enough megapixels to spare (and it's got true IBIS)! It could be glorious! ;)

You might appreciate Steve Perry's" The Ultimate Nikon Z8 & Z9 Setup & Shooting Guide for Wildlife Photography", or at least watch some of his videos if you ever go long zoom with your Nikon. Most of it applies to the lower end Nikon cameras, but the Z8/Z9 can do things none of the rest can do, like a green AF box in continuous AF mode. He has a lot of insight on the multitude of Nikon's AF modes/settings, useful for photography and videography.

Animal eye autofocus works wonderfully for me with animals. I've mostly tried with cats and dogs. Some goats. Apparently sony doesn't understand taxonomy, birds are not animals according to sony

I just don't understand why stabilization can't be better. Theres so much surplus resolution, so much cropable area. My A7iv has so much jitter, it just doesn't make sense. They should just put catalyst browse into the camera.
I think it's because they didn't code it to be dynamic stabilization so they only give you 1 or 2 preset crop options. If you use Gyroflow stabilization instead you can fully customize it, and make it dynamic too. They should really pay the Gyroflow guys 1 million dollars for the code and just use it in their cameras. The latest camera a93 does have 1 additional crop option so.......

@@cameraconspiracies ok, you tried it... For me it works very well. I have the stabe of the ZV-e1 and its fantastic AI animal autofocus ;-). With the dot sight I even get birds in fast flight, because the AF many times nails it. The rest of the time I focus manually. But I shoot with a field mon. Different style I guess...

That ZV-E10 is good for indoor as fixed indoor talking videos and the rest for outdoors magic.
The backlit sensor is also amazing in low light
