    Love castor oil. I mix my 50/50 with jojoba oil to get a better slip.

    I'm using castor oil for lot's of things for couple of years and if I were you I would check the pump for plastic - castor oil isn't supposed to be in plastic bottles, it's so potent that it will started "eat" the plastic (sorry can't come up with a better word right now)not to make a hole in it but it will absorb the plastic particles and then you'll end up with that on your skin.
    For the under eye area it's best to put cream or serum first and then castor oil.Its will seal the goodness of the cream in, basically like Vaseline.I use it also on my feet and it makes the biggest difference better than anything else.
    It's also amazing in removing warts.Seriosly love this oil

    Obsessed with caster oil! I use it all over my face and double layer on my eyes. All of the under the skin lumps around my chin have gone and I’ve not had one spot since I’ve started using it.

    Karen, try sweet almond oil for facial skin. Since I was wee (3 years old) my mom on the recommendation of the family internist, used sweet almond oil on my face, topped with the Nivea blue tin. I was very dry, and age (almost) 52 that is *still the case* and yes my profile picture is very recent (end of last year). But sweet almond oil, there just is something about that oil that makes your skin super soft and moisturized! And it "helps" your skin without turning it oily, so it should be good for anybody out there!

    Hi Karen,
    Your hair looks great and so do your lashes! No need to do all those extra things before getting on camera. Funny you mentioned being embarrassed by your mops showing bc I was thinking what a clever way to store them (up and out of the way).

    I got so excited seeing the straightener. I have the most wild, thick, wirey hair imaginable. Every hairdresser marvels at how think and coarse it is. I was so disappointed when I saw the price, so will continue looking for a dupe, hopeful they put some out soon.

    The Melt Brunet palette is beautiful keep an eye to the date on Kosas palette as they don’t use standard preservatives so their products can go off! Glow for it is a brilliant lash serum n safe too it’s a Uk company too. I’m Irish so I normally buy it from Beauty bay it’s out of stock at mo but people in Uk can buy from their own site

    Hi Karen, I've had no problems with Gabapentin (damaged rotator cuff), bonus is, it is a marvel at conquering sleep problems for me. I'm not sleepy at all through out the day, but the second my head hits the pillow, I'm out.
    Hope you get on really well with it. x

    Have you tried the Lisa Eldridge kitten lash eyeliner & mascara? They are really good ☺️ I know you have probably tried most sleep teas already as an insomniac but have you ever got the Yogi rose tea? It’s hibiscus based and I find drinking it quite relaxing 💗

    Can you use the sea buckthorn oil with suncream?

    • @TheBeautyMaverick
      @TheBeautyMaverick  2 месяца назад

      Thanks so much! Re using with sunscreen - I'm always a little cautious with that as I do wonder if it will dilute the sunscreen, so I tend not to use it. If I did, I wouldn't mix it, I'd put the oil on then wait a few moments, then apply sunscreen. x

    Me and my mum both have a Dyson hairdryer each and we love them and we’re trying to decide t]what to go for next out of the straighteners or the airwrap. The straighteners would be beneficial to my mum because she straightens her hair. But I’ve seen a ghd brush that plugs in that might be good for me.

    • @michellej5517
      @michellej5517 2 месяца назад

      If you mean the GHD heated brush, I got it for xmas and love it. So quick and easy to use and not quite as “flattening” as my GHD straighteners which is good cause I have fine thin hair.

      I haven't tried them no. I just had a Quick Look - there seems to be two. One has an SPF so I usually avoid them as I don't like the ingredient but the other one is interesting. The problem is there isn't much shade choice and I like to be able to see them in person for that price! I'll have a look in the big Boots shop next time I'm there and see if they are there by chance. x

    3 to 4 H of sleep? Guilty. I am *that* person that gets into bed at 2/3 AM and gets up at 6AM. Yep. Yep. I don't know why, but it's just... part and parcel of having a chronic pain condition (no worries, I am on heavy duty pain medicine, so it's not even that); it's just I can never get comfortable. A whole lot of bad habits on top of it all, I guess. ;)

    Actually your reports on gabapentin so surprise me. I am a chronic nerve pain patient and have a pretty severe disability (car wreck age 23). I'm 52 now and have been on 2700mg a day since 2004. It's worked for me so well. If this is a report that helps you, IDK. But I thought the positive out there also deserved a "voice" if you will. You can never tell unless you try and they don't put you on a lot as of day one, you need to take it slowly, start out with a veeery low dosage and build. If you don't do that, as the doctor ordered, and immediately take a bigger dose, I can see bad things happening. Same when you need to stop this, you go off it by lowering the dosage very slowly. It's not a medication to mess with. I am not going to say it's a perfect capsule in that sense, but my guess is if you take it like you should, there will not be those kinds of issues, unless of course you have bad side-effects. I know this leaflet by heart, and that is a first for me, what you mentioned; but of course I am not (please no) saying bad things can't happen. They can always happen and that goes for any type of medication!

    • @TheBeautyMaverick
      @TheBeautyMaverick  2 месяца назад

      That absolutely helps me, thanks so much! I have taken my 1st dose with very minimal side effects so I'm glad. Actually the Dr gave me a starting dose that I wasn't happy with - way too quick an increase! He's a GP that I know likes to give high doses. I am ignoring his "One on day one, two on day two, three on day three" and actually just taking this one until A. the side effects are no more, and B. my husband is home to take the dog out if I can't lol. Thanks so much for taking time to comment. My hubby always points out to me that people tend to only review things if there is something is negative, so it's often unbalanced. x

    • @TheBeautyMaverick
      @TheBeautyMaverick  2 месяца назад

      I should also say that it did in fact help Dad immensely in the end, when he got the dose right. It stopped his Neuropathy ruining his life and sleep!

      @amixeblu 2 месяца назад

      @@TheBeautyMaverick Oh yep, I had to take my low dose for about a week before increasing one 300mg capsule a day! And this was my pain specialist talking! My capsules are all 300mg, there's all kinds of dosages out there (100, 300, 600, 800). It doesn't hurt at all doing a slow increase; better safe than sorry, Karen!

    • @amixeblu
      @amixeblu 2 месяца назад

      @@TheBeautyMaverick It virtually instantly lifted the biggest of my nerve pain, even on a very low dose, took the edge off immediately and that's how I knew it would be great for me. I think you can tell pretty much right away if it's going to go bad or not.
