Isn't 60 days ideal to get home a puppy ? Most of the ethical breeders suggested me to take their puppies home oly after 8 weeks after thy learn their mother traits ? Is that true..thy even suggested to take them home atleast after 45 days and not below that and the so called unethical ones sell puppies below 45 days was the information I got from renowned sources..also few well known kibbles companies term that grain content isn't much healthy for dogs and thier ingredients consist of least grain content .why is grain content in "dog food" considerd harmful and direct grain mixed suppliments considered safe.and coming to RC majority of the puppy deaths were noted with the royal canine (especialy manufactured in south africa ) and even pedigree is rated down by majority of pet parents stastics causing death and illness to their puppies and many are going behind N&D, Orijen , acana and Bruno's wild essentials with much improved outputs to their 4 legged kids . kindly put ur valuable inputs and sugggestions to my comments so it helps me out a lot .Thanku doctor
Yes. It is always better to take a puppy at 2 months. In our place, people bring a puppy home as early as 20 days. Many of them are not aware of the problems when they take a puppy at this early stage. And only a very few breeders advise them to book a puppy and take it after 45 days. Thats why I mentioned to take a puppy at least after 35 days so that they are self eating. In our place, ethical breeders are rare. Things may change after some years. Many yougsters are now coming to this field with great interest, after getting a thorough knowledge on scientific breeding. Certainly they will replace the so called "puppy mills" in our state in coming years. Grain free dog food, I would say is a kind of marketing strategy. Dogs are considered to be an omnivore and can digest grains. Problem with grains is that in very few dogs, it may cause an allergy. People reading the articles from web, consider all skin problems are due to the problem of their dog food. Grain diet is necessary for a growing puppy at an optimum level. Feeding only on high- protein puppy/starter food can cause more harm leading to hepatic and renal problems. Problem is not with any brand of starter/puppy food, but due to overfeeding or lack of exercise.
