    Looks like p40 on steroids. FMS undeniably makes the best foam planes. Looks and performance. I had a successful maiden with p40 and felt as comfortable as ever when I got that bird in the air. Solid as a rock. Loved it.

    I have 12 foamie electric warbirds from 35" span and on up to this 67" span monster…and like the man said in the video…these "big ones" are the easiest to fly and land consistently correct. With a 4500 6S batt…mine was $500+! in early 2016 pricing…we DO NOT want to crash this sweetie! OUCH!

    Interesting that you refer to the colloquialism 'Jug' as being in reference to 'Juggernaut', particularly since it was perfectly appropriate for this machine, in fact it was said to be called the Jug because of the milk jug-like fuselage. I just watched your flight review of the 1500mm version and finally chose to make the purchase and then I see this...thanks a lot! Having said that though, I don't regret my choice or my purchase since I was always more partial to the 'Razorback' variants and more importantly its 200mm less that I have to get past the missus!

    I have just ordered one of these, How easy is it to fly? I have mastered the e-flite hurricane very nicely accept for landings? It always seems to nose over on grass landings!!!! Any experiences i should be aware of with this aircraft??

    • @RCINFORMER
      @RCINFORMER  9 лет назад

      john creed It is a very easy plane to fly. Its large size makes it much easier and predictable than many smaller planes. As with all tail draggers, just be cautious as you taxi, takeoff, and land as it does have a normal tendency to nose over a bit, but if you are on top if it you will not have a problem... it also has a lot of power, so just smoothly and slowly advance the power on takeoff and the plane should be easily flying with only about 1/2 throttle...as the plane begins to leave the ground THEN you can slowly advance power further towards full... to much throttle to quickly will cause a lot of left turning tendency that can over power the rudder. It is a great plane!

      RCINFORMER Hi, I flew this, You were right it was very easy to take off, fly and land. However on the second battery the prop/ motor hub disintegrated mid flight. Was not impressed!! Had just enough altitude to belly land it, but it belly landed hard with a thump breaking off the retract and flaps! One of the props narrowly missed my friend who was watching, he described a whistling noise as it went past him! Thankfully no one was hurt and the supplier is very helpful and understanding and has asked me to return it.

    • @RCINFORMER
      @RCINFORMER  9 лет назад

      john creed I had herd of this happening on other occasion.... I speculate that there was a bad batch of props at one point... I still fly this very plane with no problems... it has now been flying for a year and a half and we filmed all the promo videos with it....

    • @jcreedy20
      @jcreedy20 9 лет назад

      Yes I had also heard this, but having only purchased this a month ago, I would have expected these batches of aircraft to have been exhausted, and non faulty products to be sold instead of faulty ones.

      I use a Gravity 6s 5500 mAh. Weight 864 grams. Seems to get the plane properly balanced without any additional weights. Possibly just a tiny bit nose heavy.

    Exactly where are these found for "$300-$400 range" ? The best Ive seen is $459. Awesome plane and piloting.

    • @RCINFORMER
      @RCINFORMER  10 лет назад +1

      At the time i did the video, the receiver ready version (PNP) was $399, the Airframe only was quite a bit less. NOW, the demand is higher and people are aware of how nice of a plane is, the plane is currently being sold at its normal price of $459. All of the 1700mm Warbirds from FMS were originally priced at $459 but initially the P-47 did not sell as well as the Corsair and P-51... the price was lowered back then to generate sales. Technically it is still in the $400 range at $459....

    • @Snobiker13
      @Snobiker13 10 лет назад

      I made the first flight yesterday. Great plane, but "as always" with FMS planes the landing gear needed correction. This time they had forgotten to make flat spots on the upper end of the struts, so they could easily swivel sideways. Note that this plane had been on a shelf for well over a year. Hopefully they don't make the same mistake on new planes.

    • @RCINFORMER
      @RCINFORMER  10 лет назад

      Gunnar Hovmark Strange? Mine did not have that problem.... how did your vertical stabilizer install? Only 2 of the 3 screws on mine lined up,

    • @Snobiker13

      RCINFORMER No screws at all on mine, only glue, so I'm pretty sure my version of the plane is older.

  • @davvidcrouch
    @davvidcrouch 7 лет назад

    Nice plane but I'm concerned about how light it is on the tail wheel. I am afraid that with a tail wind while taxing out to the runway it could cause it to nose over onto the prop. And we all know what happens to the scale 4 blade prop if the hub gets damaged at all. You will have an exploding prop assembly like on the corsair. If I get one i think a 2 blade prop would be a must since it will probably nose over and the prop will strike the ground. It is beautiful. I am going to purchase a plane from motion but I think the f 15 is on my radar. Cheers

      @RCINFORMER  8 лет назад +1

      +Magic_Zach Sure it was!

    • @Red-Magic
      @Red-Magic 8 лет назад

      The P-47 has a rather slow and sluggish turn time. Roll rate, I don't know. It was slower than the Mustang (surprisingly) but not by much. Pilots claimed that the Thunderbolt dove like a rock, being that it was a VERY heavy fighter, and very big. But the weight also made it a slow climber. That is pretty much all I know on the Thunderbolt, but almost NO planes, even the Mustang, turned as hard as that. The only plane that MIGHT'VE would be a plane such as the Ki-43 Otsu, or the A6M2 or A6M1, off the top of my head. But, being that this is an RC, and therefore being smaller, it would be expected that it turn harder, climb harder, roll faster, etc. For some unexplained reason, things that are bigger tend to be slower. :-P Just think of giants! Why are they always portrayed as walking in slow-motion on-screen? Still, awesome RC though! ;-)

    • @shocktrooper8443
      @shocktrooper8443 8 лет назад

      It was a boom & zoom masterpiece in the hands of the right pilot…just ask any luftwaffe ghost that ever got raked by it's eight .50 MGs'! I fly this one extensively in the (now dated) Microsoft Combat Flight Sim 3…and it has to be flown to it's strengths…and is best suited cruising for victims from at least 10,000ft AGL or higher. God help any enemy plane that tries diving away from a well piloted 'Jug', with the 'Slit - S' evasive maneuver….its' soon to be "toast in big smoking hole"!

    • @Red-Magic
      @Red-Magic 8 лет назад

      I said "maneuverable". Turning time wasn't as high as this RC. I know the P-47 was heavy (and one of the largest single-engine fighters of WWII) and made it drop like a rock. But the turning radius was a bit high. But meh, it's an RC. Can't ever be absolutely accurate (unless...) xD
