- Yes everyone, Experimentals are returning with a bang today, featuring Battlefield 1944 mod!
The developers provided me this early look at the gameplay, and I'm here to share it with you :D

Hi Chris, thanks for giving our mod some exposure! As well as a huge thanks for the invaluable critical feedback which we will take into consideration.
I am sorry you had some issues with loading some maps, everything was working on my end so perhaps there was some issue with downloading or extracting the mod? Also many of the issues have thankfully been fixed in our latest build, such as Americans saying "Japs spotted" which was an experimental voice pack I added to the build before we released a patch fixing those issues. I also think that might be why the mod was giving you some other issues as that patch was released as a hotfix internally to fix some stuff that I had missed when uploading such as game breaking bugs or crashes. I may have forgotten to send you the link to the patch though so that could be my fault.
About the vehicles, well we were aiming more for how tanks handle in Battlefield V so they are a bit better balanced vs infantry so they can try to hide from them or run to the rear and plant AT mines. It also gives the tanks some weight to them which we felt vanilla BF2 tanks felt more like paper tanks. So they do have higher armor values as well so they can take a few more hits, but a Konigstiger will still destroy a Sherman quite quickly.
We do have a lot of other smaller maps with closer control points but the Battle of Wuhan map you first showed and Carentan are both some of our maps that Project Reality has shared with us for doing some tanks and other content for them. So they are much more massive than the typical maps in the mod.

Well, I did expect such issues from an early build, so no worries when it comes to the bugs and inaccessible content. Now I understand the aim for the tanks, a balancing measure for infantry. Looks like I hit the huge maps in this gameplay, can't wait to see the action in close-quarters one, especially with the gunplay. Cheers and huge thanks :D
@@ChrisTGamingZone Yes hehe, those were more massive than the average maps. You should check out the 1942 maps we remastered in the mod. Those are more average sized to smaller maps, but we do even have ones smaller than those that are specifically infantry only. Those are recommended if you want a more faster paced experience. We included all sizes of maps to let people play more towards how they prefer.

i think i will gonna love this mod when it's release, it's promising, and i hope they make new voiceline for every faction and making better HUD and better graphics (just like FH2)
Exciting stuff. Interesting seeing the East Asia setting, because I only remember Europe and Africa in Forgotten Hope 2
There are many theaters of war in this mod, and I'm glad to say, there are many East-Asian maps available in the mod :D
This is so great to hear people appreciate my decision to add in the Asian theater. Not too many games include it, especially FPS ones that I know of. I always was fascinated with this theater and really felt that it was far too underrepresented in games. We even have a few native Chinese people in the team helping out with things so we are trying to keep it feeling accurate and being respectful of history. I had to research a ton of history of the Asian front and it really paid off in the end.

Sorry man, the mod is not out yet. The developers gave me permission to post this early gameplay on channel, that's why it's called Experimental :)
It's not out yet, but it has a page on moddb. You can follow it.

We released it earlier this month on the 5th. It is on Moddb under the new name Battleground 44. We rebranded it to avoid any issues from EA or DICE so we could make it standalone.

We have not released the mod yet. We are still deep into development. We reached out to Chris to promote the mod to get people interested before release. So we gave him a download to show people the mod in it's current state.

modification is good. but the gameplay is boring...
Sadly I can confirm this on the huge locations, it literally took me minutes to find some enemies to fight, and that is with 64 bots on them. Really tiresome experience.
But at the same time, there are the small maps that might play even better, sadly I couldn't access them for this early preview in particular, that's why the gameplay video is like that.
