To answer your question, waking up for other reasons usually does not lead to additional difficulty falling asleep again. It is more rare now, but tinnitus used to wake me up like an alarm clock whenever my brain had just enough unconscious time to recognize the noise while I was asleep. Sometimes, it was too loud to sleep at all.
Mines wakes me up in the middle of the night. I don’t really hear it at all if it’s even there during the day but at night while sleeping I just wake with ringing pretty loud if I calm myself quick enough it can even stop within minutes or an hour or so. But is this normal for tinnitus I just don’t know what to think or do about this. Or if it will stop ever think it’s due to so much anxiety and stress I have about things in life
I've had mine for 10 years and I believe I had a spike it got louder. Trying to be relaxed and not be stressed. Using sound like rain to sleep better but I think it got me insomnia.
@@treblehealth Thank you, once I started watching more vids and listening to therapy help, I got better and remember that the ringing is a part of me and my life.
I can't do "sound therapy" cus as soon as the therapy stops it's hell. I'll carry on hearing the repetitive noise long after it's stopped. It'll mess up my hearing royally for hours and I gotta work!
I do all these things but not the pillow I’ll have to look into it. Still if it’s very loud it keeps me up and I get agitated which keeps me awake.yes I use melatonin. Mine started when I had restless leg syndrome after stopping pain meds my doctor gave me and the meds made it worse so I went 3 months with 1 to 2 hours of sleep a night if I was lucky. That’s when it started and it hasn’t gone away after 2 years. I do t notice it as much or at all during the day usually. It does go away sometimes during the day. Some nights it’s really bad some not very loud and I can sleep.
Suffered from a concussion in mid January. Tinnitus ever since...I’d say currently, sleep, or the lack of it, is prob more connected to the tinnitus. Just because I think the more energy I feel’s coming back the more it feels like it’s interfering...
Mines not that loud but it's very high pitched, so i feel the same as you. I used to have a fan on, but then i gradually just started sleeping with absolutely no external noise. I found that it makes the tinnitus "quieter" but i still put something ok for distraction sometimes
My tinnitus is waking me up at night . Mine started after taking statins. I reduced the mg & it decreased . But now it started again . It was agreed I stopped altogether & two weeks later it’s getting worse. I can’t sleep it’s so loud . The lack of sleep & ringing of ear is now making me feel horrible all the time ! Help me please 🙏
Long covid and in the dead of night my tinnitis STARTS pulsing and i have crazy dreams and wake up! or sometimes good dreams and i am still waking up BECAUSE of the noise in my head pulsating! its super fun. of course early in covid hell I wasnt sleeping at all, waking every hr with racing heart and anxiety so bad I would barf. ...pluse tinnitis..which oddly wasnt pulsatory then🤷♀️
Yes there are times my tinnitus has woken me up out of undisturbed deep sleep. Usually happens after I’ve been a loud social environment like indoor soccer practice with my kids and and arcade or group fitness class. I also notice my tinnitus is loud during mid afternoon and evenings. I am thankful to have somewhat of quit mornings! Wondering if ear plugs (like eargasm musician ear plugs) would help with the noise in social environments to help minimize the ringing once I’m away from that environment?

You do not say why I shouldn’t take melatonin every night (which I’ve been doing for years). Luckily I fall asleep very well but I am cannot tell you how many times I’ve had low ringing for several days only to wake up to screaming ringing in the early morning even though I have sound machines on.
Because melatonin is a hormone that we should be able to produce ourselves and when you constantly put it into your body at random doses you're telling your body to stop producing it and then you become dependent on taking the pills and you fuck up your circadian rhythm. This happened to me this is my life now. Melatonin is in so many over the counter sleep aids and it's really reckless. It's also reckless that doctors refuse to give sleep medication to grown adults who don't have substance abuse histories who have tinnitus like it's literally reckless that someone like me can't get sleep medication. That no matter how sleep deprived I am it doesn't matter to these doctors and they can't even give a week of sleep medication or or a month just to help me literally function they can't do it this is not because not giving sleep medication is based in science we all know that the effects of sleep deprivation are severe this is really just a hyper reaction to the war on drugs that is really not appreciated that people with tinnitus should get sleep medication. And using melatonin for years on end will mess you up and create a situation where you need it for life or develop a lovely circadian disorder like the one I have and it's not like it's ever quiet during the day because the rent is too damn high and people are unkind and cruel and do not care about people who need to rest during the day whether they have tinnitus in our exhausted or if they're shift workers or anyone else so I really recommend you try to wean yourself off of the melatonin. congratulations.
i tried eveyrthing, nothing works besides sleeping pills (benzos) which l can use only for a limited amount of time. I am pretty scared. I know that if l don't sleep, l am fucked and it just makes it worse. also if l flag tinnitus as dangerous, my brain will make it a thing to focus on, which is also pretty bad.
My tinnitus is an intermittent tick tick tick, for ages followed by a crescendo of loud scratching which thankfully stops after 20ish seconds, then the intermittent tick tick kicks off again and is never ending....night time I use rain white noise which helps, but not always....being outdoors also helps , bedtime can be awful....I am still coming to terms with this which started after my second Pfizer jab....any advice from fellow sufferers greatly appreciated......cheers....!

Based on research studies, sleeping pills do not reduce tinnitus. They just put you to sleep so you can fall asleep with ease even when experiencing tinnitus. Tinnitus management strategies such as CBT or TRT are proven to help with tinnitus.
Great question! When using sound therapy, we want partial masking. This leads to spectral changes in tinnitus sound and/or reduced perception of tinnitus loudness. To asnwer your question, we want the masking sound to be a little quieter than your tinnitus at all times even when sleeping.

Does the sound pillow use Bluetooth? I’ve found only a few sounds block out my tinnitus. Because my tinnitus is a high pitch sound waves and wind type sounds don’t block mine. The best I’ve found for me is this ruclips.net/video/Gm8oVClDrjc/видео.html If the sound pillow uses Bluetooth I’d definitely try it.
Mark, the Sound Pillow Sleep System is not Bluetooth because Bluetooth is not a perfectly stable signal. If the signal drops then reconnects in the middle of the night, it would likely wake you up (opposite of the purpose and goal). By having a stable signal, you can rest/sleep assured the needed sound will play all night long...uninterrupted.
Can we stop not being real and stop acting like sleep deprivation doesn't kill people? Can we actually stop acting like sleep deprivation is no big deal, like I love how doctors are like "I went to medical school and was sleep deprived because of capitalist culture structuring medical training in this way so because I'm a martyr everybody else should be a martyr too" and "join the club" and "what do you mean you're tired, just exercise more, tire yourself out" like could that attitude from doctors really stop because patients actually don't sign up to go to medical school and also don't sign up for the cult of fetishizing sleeplessness and sleep deprivation, that lack of sleep is really serious and the hesitancy to give sleep medication for people who have tinnitus and literally cannot sleep +even doing all these things that you mentioned in the video + is really criminal. I do everything that you discussed and it doesn't work. so I don't know why I'm being denied sleep medication for years on end, but why don't we just examine this culture of this idea that sleep deprivation isn't deadly when it actually is. so your answer to can tinnitus kill you: yes it can, through sleep deprivation. yes it can because I'm experiencing it right now, and the death through sleep deprivation is a really slow and agonizing death. it's not a fun death okay.

I can't do "sound therapy" cus as soon as the therapy stops it's hell. I'll carry on hearing the repetitive noise long after it's stopped. It'll mess up my hearing royally for hours and I gotta work!
Waking up do to my tinnitus. And then when I am awake have hard time to go back to sleep.
Im from the philippines i hope it will work thank you sir..

My tinnitus seems to ramp up with sound. So its hard to mask. And I also have sensitivity to noise so its a no win. 😥
Same here.
Mines not that loud but it's very high pitched, so i feel the same as you. I used to have a fan on, but then i gradually just started sleeping with absolutely no external noise. I found that it makes the tinnitus "quieter" but i still put something ok for distraction sometimes
It happend 4 times last night and stopped for the rest of the night do I have it I’m still scared and only been thinking about it at school

Ear plugs with different filters can be helpful to wear during loud environments like you’re describing.

I have miniere's disease and high riding jugular bulb. It's very hard to sleep....
Finding the right system for sleep is challenging. Don’t give up.
You do not say why I shouldn’t take melatonin every night (which I’ve been doing for years).
Luckily I fall asleep very well but I am cannot tell you how many times I’ve had low ringing for several days only to wake up to screaming ringing in the early morning even though I have sound machines on.
Depends on the dosage. Better question for your doctor. Usually mild dosage is ok.

Is it good to take sleeping pills
Based on research studies, sleeping pills do not reduce tinnitus. They just put you to sleep so you can fall asleep with ease even when experiencing tinnitus. Tinnitus management strategies such as CBT or TRT are proven to help with tinnitus.
Please can you advise me - When I use a white noise machine , should I have it turned on louder than my tinnitus ?
Great question! When using sound therapy, we want partial masking. This leads to spectral changes in tinnitus sound and/or reduced perception of tinnitus loudness. To asnwer your question, we want the masking sound to be a little quieter than your tinnitus at all times even when sleeping.

This is a great suggestion for future topic!
Which white noise machine could be used? Is there any specific earplugs which could block the ringing sound in the ears?
Thank you very much for your nice explanations.
Does the sound pillow use Bluetooth? I’ve found only a few sounds block out my tinnitus. Because my tinnitus is a high pitch sound waves and wind type sounds don’t block mine. The best I’ve found for me is this ruclips.net/video/Gm8oVClDrjc/видео.html
If the sound pillow uses Bluetooth I’d definitely try it.
Terrible Tinnitus, so loud and got worse. Can it kill me eventually?
Hey שאול נקר, thank you for the comment. It will not kill you. Learn from our other videos about what you can do.
Tinnitis is not fatal itself. But underlying cause can
Can we stop not being real and stop acting like sleep deprivation doesn't kill people?
