    I have just started using masking noise videos on youtube that last 4 hours 5500hz - amazingly they seem to smooth out the sharp tones in my ear allowing me to sleep. The downside is - and I am still experimenting - is that when I have this playing all night - my tinnitus seems to be louder in the morning and gradually softens through the day. I am still experimenting to find patterns. I am sleeping well - but this is also connected with me being on a very low carb low salt low sugar diet. Thanks for your video. I keep following.

      @@Andrew-pp2ql Yes will try that. Though I seem to be sleeping well without it and will use it as a last resort.

    Thank you for presenting these effective tools. I'm experimenting with your ideas. Sleep is definately the biggest challege. i find that hypnagogia is my ally. For me it's the higher frequency sounds that help mask the best. I have "Silk" on my phone and my hard drives and use it for background as much as i can to acclimate by externalizing the perceived source....moving it from the center of my head to outside me. I'm going to get a head band but right now I use very soft earbuds and pipe the higher frequencies directly in, and i have an extension cord to avoid getting tangled. I also dangle the cord from above me. ...and keep the volume low to try and avoid damage. Also, i simultaneously play a low frequency bass on external speakers. I find that as I enter a hypnagogic space I become completely unaware that there is any high frequency. It is effectively neutralized and all I hear is the low frequency which is soothing. Anyway, what initially was agitating me, making me crazy a lot, 2 months ago is now manageable and I have more faith in these techniques and in myself to deal with this. Excuse this long-winded speech but it might be of use to someone...Thanks!

    I've discovered the combination of a good sound machine, relaxation and taking a Tylenol PM at bedtime works well for me. I usually get at least 6 hours of sleep. Glad to get away from narcotics based meds to sleep!

    Terrific comparison! The sound of breathing, of breath passing through the sinuses, and how the brain learns to not focus on it, and we forget that sound is even there! Thank you, Dr. Ben!!

    Great advise. My noise has been reduced and I have improved my lifestyle by also eliminating hard liquors like Vocka which I normally used to drink around 2 or 3 on Saturday while playing league bowling. Also I have eliminated 90% sugars and fat foods and I have feel much better in term of the tinnitus sound. Going to sleep is not easy but will try the advise giving in this video. Thanks

    You talked about staying away from videos shortly before going to sleep to keep the brain from being too active, but what about reading a book before sleep? Is that also discouraged?

    • @treblehealth
      @treblehealth  Год назад

      No, reading a book is NOT discouraged. It is actually ENCOURAGED if it helps you relax. The point of not watching videos before you sleep is because anything you watch on your phone, TV, iPad, etc. will be disruptive for your sleep. The blue light from the screen have several negative effects on a person's sleep especially if you can't sleep because of your tinnitus.

    What is sound therapy? Is it a sound machine next to my bed, and how does it help?

    • @treblehealth
      @treblehealth  2 года назад

      Sound therapy is a broad term. It is a way of using sound to provide tinnitus relief. If the brain is busy listening to other sounds it’s not as focused on the perception of tinnitus. This can be as simple as turning on a fan to using customized ear-level devices for sound therapy.
